Columbus: Fifth by Northwest (5xNW) Development and News
Luvcbus replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionCrews started tearing down the building at 1550 Kenny Rd today. (It's the property right next to Circle K.) I know there were plans for a 5 story building there. Did the new building get final approval yet?

Columbus: Downtown: Lower.com Field / Astor Park
I was down at Lower Field for a tour earlier. It really is top notch all the way around! That whole area back there has a chance to really be something special. We got on the subject of that little shack that's still standing right next to the bridge. I was told that they don't know exactly what's going to happen with that yet because the city doesn't own it. I hope something is done with it soon... Is the eventual plan to tear it down or try to keep it?

Columbus: Brewery District Developments and News
Interesting. Columbus Business First is saying the buildings will be six stories each.

Upper Arlington: Developments and News
Luvcbus replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionMy bad. I figured it was pertinent since it's right next to it.

Columbus: Franklinton Developments and News
I was on West Broad a little earlier... Noticed the building at W Broad and Glenwood Ave is now going vertical. Assuming this momentum continues, I can not wait to see this whole area in five years!

Upper Arlington: Developments and News
Luvcbus replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionI am aware what the buildings are for... There's like four or five buildings under construction there now, I was wondering if the next phase of buildings going in there have been approved yet?

Upper Arlington: Developments and News
Luvcbus replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionJust took a "detour" through UA to check some things out... -The old UAHS looks to be a little less than half way down. -Lazarus/Macy's is about 90% down now. Also (I know it's not UA) but the building at Lane and Kenny is at six stories. If you drive behind it, there are some more areas apparently being prepped for new buildings. Has the next phase of buildings going in back there been approved already?

Columbus: Scioto Peninsula Developments and News
I've been thinking a lot lately about something that could really do wonders for both the Astor Park area and Franklinton... I was wondering what you guys think... I've noticed that Gift Street in Franklinton (or even May Ave next to Gravity One) basically dead ends into a row of trees. If you look at a map, it basically lines up with Hocking Street (or possibly Hanover Street too) on the other side of the river. I would love to see some of those trees cleared out and those two areas connected, with at least a pedestrian bridge and eventually a vehicular bridge. It seems if they did clear those trees out, the city could also extend the useable "parkland" along both sides of the river as well. I wonder what the chances are this ever happens?

Worthington: Developments and News
If you use Huntley to Sancus - there will be a detour in place that's supposed to start next week as part of the Northeast Gateway Project. Assuming construction is still on schedule, Huntley is supposed to be closed between Schrock Rd and Worthington Galena Rd, June 14th-June 18th, to finally take care of the railroad crossing on Huntley! It's a mess back there now but after looking through the before and after renderings, this is going to be a major improvement when finished!

Columbus: Downtown: Lower.com Field / Astor Park
Just went to check the progress around the stadium about an hour ago... All of the newly built roads "behind" the stadium are now open. It was the first time I was able to drive around the entire block back there. The one thing that really stuck out to me is just how much developable land there is back there, there's a LOT more than I thought there was! I'm even more excited now to see how Astor Park evolves.

Great news here!

Upper Arlington: Developments and News
Luvcbus replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionThe new high school is being built on the other side of their property. The softball and baseball fields will be built on the side of the property where the old building sat. That side will also become parking because some of the old parking areas were lost. Since the slice of land their campus is on isn't real big they basically had to "flip" everything from one side to the other.

Columbus: Polaris Developments and News
Luvcbus replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionAnyone been back behind Budweiser on Sancus lately? They just opened a small portion of the reconfigured intersection area that used to connect Huntley to Sancus at Worthington-Galena. When you're on Huntley you no longer have to go to that intersection and make the hard right onto Sancus!! They still have quite a bit of work to finish the entire reconfiguration back there, but it's already sooo much better than it was! Can't wait for this project to wrap up. This is going to make a huge difference connecting Polaris to Schrock Rd.

Columbus: Old North Columbus Developments and News
Luvcbus replied to Columbusite's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionI went by yesterday, which was a Sunday, and there were a couple guys hanging out the windows in the front measuring something. I thought it was weird after not seeing much activity there for a while, to see people there on a Sunday.

Columbus: Victorian Village Developments and News
Luvcbus replied to Summit Street's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionMy apologies... I was on Goodale the other day when I saw this, and from there it appeared to be a tower crane going up. However, I just came down Neil on my way home and they have NOT began putting the tower crane up just yet. ☹️

Luvcbus replied to Summit Street's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionAnother one should be coming soon at Arlington Gateway, which would put us at 20! Would love to see this momentum around the city continue. Exciting times!

Columbus: Victorian Village Developments and News
Luvcbus replied to Summit Street's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionInteresting... I assumed since the comments above about the church that's literally across the street from this were here, I figured this was the correct thread.

Columbus: Victorian Village Developments and News
Luvcbus replied to Summit Street's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionCrews appeared to be putting up a tower crane today for the new 11 story tower going up on Neil Ave (near Goodale). Does anyone have a running count of tower cranes currently up in the city? I was coming down 315 the other day and I couldn't believe how many were visible starting around Ackerman!

Columbus: Scioto Peninsula Developments and News
I can't wait either. When fully built out, it's supposed to include buildings on both sides of Broad and both sides of Rich. (The police substation that's there now will eventually be tore down as well).
-
Columbus: Scioto Peninsula Developments and News
I seem to remember reading it will include around 29 buildings on 22 acres and should take around ten years. Of course, those numbers will probably change a bit as things evolve.

Upper Arlington: Developments and News
Luvcbus replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionCrews started putting up fencing around the old UA High School today. I was told they expect to begin tearing it down "within a week or so". I noticed they still have numerous trees marked for removal, where the new baseball and softball fields will be built.

Columbus: Downtown: Lower.com Field / Astor Park
Nice! I went through there the other day and they were putting up a "Donatos" sign but that "ticketing" signage wasn't up yet. They really seem to be hittin the "final stretch" now! It's looking great
