Columbus: Downtown: Lower.com Field / Astor Park
Is there going to be a ticket office window at the new stadium? When/where can we get single game tickets for the new stadium (not through places like Ticketmaster)?

Columbus: Downtown: Arena District Developments and News
Luvcbus replied to CMH_Downtown's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionI agree. Mayor Coleman understood that for The City of Columbus (or any big city for that matter) to reach its full potential, to be the very best it can be, it has to have a strong core, a thriving downtown. Mayor Ginther doesn't seem to get this. And, in my opinion, is making a huge mistake.

Columbus: Downtown: Arena District Developments and News
Luvcbus replied to CMH_Downtown's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionI'm thinking east of the railroad bridge may still be best to move people between The Arena District area and The Peninsula/Cosi area. They are already planning on widening the Souder Ave bridge in a couple years and part of that project is including a dedicated pedestrian bridge a few feet east of the widened bridge. I hope they don't just do the one next to Souder Ave and think that's sufficient.

Columbus: Weinland Park Developments and News
Wow! Really?! Wonder if they're tearing it down now, or it just looks like that in the picture because it's such a piece of sh*t? If they are in the process of tearing it down, I will definitely be driving thru in the next day or so to check it out!

Columbus: Weinland Park Developments and News
I really hope you are correct! That would *really* make a huge difference, for the better, on 2nd

Columbus: Weinland Park Developments and News
I was driving around on 2nd one day kind of recently trying to figure out where the new road would connect. But there's two big kind of nasty looking older buildings or old manufacturing looking places where I assume the road would be built. Do you know if they would be clearing one of them out for the road that would be built to connect to Grant at 5th?

Columbus: Weinland Park Developments and News
Great! I've been patiently waiting and wondering... If it gets approved, it will be a plus to have another way to connect to the Jeffrey Park area
-
Columbus: Weinland Park Developments and News
Agreed. I'm also very excited about "The Lusso"... Assuming it gets final approval, this area of 5th will have a crazy amount of construction going on! (Not sure how to add a link so) i pulled this tiny snippet about The Lusso from CU: "The proposal, announced today by Homestead Companies and Lykens Companies, calls for 315 units and 398 parking spaces to be built on eight of the 22 acres that make up the Clark Grave Vault site. A five-story apartment building and four-story townhomes are being proposed for the first phase of the development, which will be heard by the Italian Village Commission. That portion of the proposal would be located on the south side of East Fifth Avenue, adjacent to the railroad tracks that form the neighborhood’s eastern boundary and just north of the large, green-roofed buildings that make up the Clark Grave Vault manufacturing facility." So much going on around the city. I just can't get enough! Lol

This area of 5th is really starting to come together. Next to this site is another six story development that just started and the apartments at the corner of Grant and 5th are now going vertical.

Central Ohio Metro Parks / Columbus Recreation & Parks
Was out there yesterday, those buildings pictured are much, much further along now! I can't believe how fast they're going up.

Central Ohio Metro Parks / Columbus Recreation & Parks
I agree! I haven't been as excited as I am for this project in quite some time. And the fact that the part of the property that is still a live quarry (I think they said that part is around 600 acres) is contracted to go to the developer when they are finished mining it, means the project will only grow in the future!

Central Ohio Metro Parks / Columbus Recreation & Parks
I went out and checked out the progress of this project myself yesterday. And yes! It is coming right along. The last time I was out there was a little over a month ago, and a lot of the buildings that were just elevator shafts are complete buildings now. They appear to be quite a bit further along on some of the bike trails, etc. They was paving what appeared to be one of the entrances for vehicular traffic yesterday as well! I can't wait to be able to drive thru the property soon and check everything out but from a much closer view than what is accessable today!

Lol sorry. I just echoed your comment

Columbus: Franklinton Developments and News
It's not up yet. But the elevator shafts for the building toward the Rich St side of the property looks to be up to five stories or so now

Luvcbus replied to CMH_Downtown's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionThanks! There were three or four different options they were debating at the time. If you could find the renderings of each of those, I would love to see them again. I can't seem to find them.

Upper Arlington: Developments and News
Luvcbus replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionLol. I know a senior there and he said they wanted them to stop tagging because they thought some of the tags were sexual but he said they really weren't... But then in the same breath he told me there was quite a few generic tags of a certain member of the male anatomy! Lol

Columbus: Downtown: Arena District Developments and News
Luvcbus replied to CMH_Downtown's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionYep! That's one of them! If I remember right, there was a couple other design ideas for this bridge. If you happen to see them, and could post them, I'd love to see them again. Thank you for finding this!

Luvcbus replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionHeard a interesting little nugget today from someone who is involved with UA schools... UA's last day of school is Thursday. They are having prom there Thursday night. That will be the last event ever in the old UA High School. Students were also aloud to tag the inside and outside of the building, because it's days are very numbered. Apparently they are planning on tearing down the old building "very soon".

Columbus: Downtown: Arena District Developments and News
Luvcbus replied to CMH_Downtown's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionIt was part of the 2010 Downtown Strategic Plan... I don't know if you remember the proposal, but it was a slick looking bridge. If built the way it was proposed, it would compliment the Rich St bridge very well. I couldn't find a picture of it but found this on CU: 10. “Pedestrian Bike Bridge” — Status: Shelved / Not Yet Started While the central and southern portions of Downtown are well connected across the Scioto River into Franklinton via bridges at Broad Street, Rich/Town Street and Main Street, the north end of Downtown doesn’t have any options north of Broad. That may not be a big problem for drivers, but for pedestrian and bike traffic, it’s a bigger issue. The solution of constructing a new bridge was proposed with the Downtown Strategic Plan, calling for improved access between the Vets Memorial event center and the Arena District / Convention Center area...

Columbus: Downtown: Arena District Developments and News
Luvcbus replied to CMH_Downtown's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionI liked the idea kicked around five or six years ago (maybe a little longer) of a pedestrian bridge connecting Franklinton to the Arena District. The bridge design they had released at the time that was being considered was sweet. I think with all the development in Franklinton and the new Crew Stadium and surrounding development on the way, I'd like to see this idea considered again. No better time than now.

Luvcbus replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionI heard a while back that they were planning on selling single blue bricks to any community members who were interested in having a little piece of history... But I haven't heard anything else about it since

Luvcbus replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionWent by Kingsdale yesterday and although there isn't fencing up yet, there was a couple new pieces of machinery sitting pretty close to the Macy's building. Some people in the Starbucks across the street were speculating on whether or not they were already there to knock the Macy's building down or not.
