Cleveland: Lakefront Development and News
If we somehow, one day, maybe think about routing I-90 to I-271 -> I-480 -> I-80 -> I-90 then that would open up both the lake front and remove a barrier between Downtown and Midtown.

Ohio Congressional Redistricting / Gerrymandering
Oh, so they were able to draw more Democratic districts while still adhering to the other rules for redistricting. I'm sure Cupp and Huffman were fair and reasonable this time around.... ideastream: Competitive districts in new Ohio House and Senate maps disproportionately hurt Democrats. https://www.ideastream.org/news/competitive-districts-in-new-ohio-house-and-senate-maps-disproportionately-hurt-democrats

Cleveland: Duck Island: Development and News
I think this is the better framing for this concern. Bike infrastructure is progressing, but slowly, and our public transit system isn't as robust as it should be. We should be talking about how to improve these so people don't have to own cars, not stopping development to accommodate residents with cars.

Cleveland SC Soccer Stadium
With Columbus and Cincinnati having MLS teams I think the prospects of Cleveland getting a team is slim. Don't know the professional soccer structure well though so if my bad if that's not what you were saying.

Ohio Congressional Redistricting / Gerrymandering
FiveThirtyEight: Ohio’s Overturned Congressional Map Shows How Lawsuits Might Scramble Redistricting. "In this way, the decision in Ohio could be a turning point for the overall narrative of the 2021-22 redistricting cycle. Up to this point, it was somewhat ambiguous which party had gained seats from redistricting (going by FiveThirtyEight partisan lean, 1 there were six more Democratic-leaning seats and the same number of Republican-leaning seats; going by which party currently holds the seat, Republicans had gained about three seats and Democrats had lost about two). In the big picture, this meant the preservation of a Republican-leaning status quo. The nullification of Ohio’s map, though, raises the possibility that this status quo won’t be preserved and that Democrats could emerge from this redistricting cycle on a more even House playing field. Of course, a lot still needs to happen for this to come true. First, Democrats would need favorable court decisions in North Carolina or other states. Another big factor will be what Ohio’s eventual map looks like. A proportional map — say, one with eight Republican-leaning seats and seven Democratic-leaning ones — could net Democrats three additional seats on its own, but this is unlikely to become reality. The court ordered that the Ohio legislature take another crack at drawing the lines, and since the legislature is controlled by Republicans, it will likely still draw a map that buoys the GOP, but modestly enough to pass legal muster." https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/ohios-overturned-congressional-map-shows-how-lawsuits-might-scramble-redistricting/

Cleveland: Mayor Justin Bibb
Seems like a no-brainer ideastream: Mayor Justin Bibb announces plans to expand use of county's diversion center by Cleveland Police. And, in a deal worked out with state Sen. Adam G. Hinds, D-Pittsfield, CSX agreed to the operation of the Berkshire Flyer from Albany to Pittsfield from Memorial Day to Columbus Day 2022. All parties will evaluate the service, and the number of passengers it draws, with the consideration of making the train permanent."

Cleveland: Ohio City: Irishtown Bend Park
https://www.crainscleveland.com/real-estate/port-cleveland-offer-georges-360000-contested-corner-above-irishtown-bend "The Cleveland-Cuyahoga County Port Authority will offer $360,000 to buy an Ohio City corner that is the final piece of property required for a major hillside stabilization project. The port’s board of directors voted Thursday, Jan. 13, to authorize the overture to Tony and Bobby George, the father-and-son developer pair that owns the 0.41-acre site at West 25th Street and Detroit Avenue. Based on a recent appraisal, the offer is an early step in what could be an eminent domain fight — a battle over the taking of private property for public purposes. The offer will start a roughly 30-day clock for the Georges. If they turn it down or don’t respond, the port will take its case to Cuyahoga County Probate Court, where the agency is likely to pursue swift control of the property based on concerns about the safety of the slope above Irishtown Bend."

I just order online from Solstice. Mocha java is my go to, but I've been trying the rest. Cleveland: Mayor Justin Bibb
I think it's worth returning to this article. Parallels are drawn to Pittsburgh how how they've successfully leveraged their higher educational institutions to drive economic activity in the city. The fact that all three of Case's, CSU's and Tri-C's University presidents are optimistic and see an opportunity in working with the new administration is a big positive. Of course, you wouldn't expect them to say otherwise, it would kill any prospects of a working relationship before they start, but at least the conversation has started!

Cleveland: General Business & Economic News
SPAC Zanite to help urban air mobility company Eve take flight https://www.crainscleveland.com/finance/spac-zanite-help-urban-air-mobility-company-eve-take-flight The section most related to Cleveland business: "What’s next for Zanite? Zanite shareholders and founders will have a combined 10% stake in Eve as the merger closes. Ricci will join the Eve board at that time as well. Eve’s U.S. headquarters won’t be in Cleveland, Rosen said, but likely somewhere in Florida, possibly Melbourne. While this current iteration of Zanite morphs into Eve with the merger, Rosen already is thinking about a Zanite 2.0. “It has not been determined yet, but Zanite will continue building out in the SPAC marketplace,” Rosen said. “That will still be based in Cleveland and similar to Zanite one. We hope to build out a Zanite franchise going forward.” That means possible raising money for a second deal at some point in the future. In the meantime, Rosen is eager to see what plays out with Eve. “As someone who just absolutely appreciates smart, talented, innovative ideas that disrupt industries, this is as exciting as anything I’ve been involved in,” he said. “To think about being part of the future of aviation as it relates to this market is just an incredible opportunity.”"

Cleveland: Mayor Justin Bibb
You doubt Jackson did or you know Jackson didn't? You're jumping to conclusions and making quite a big deal out of something pretty inconsequential I the grand scheme of things. The point is that Jackson was sworn in on the first Monday of January, like @Cleburgersaid, then held his inaugural ball the following Saturday, just as Bibb has. Also, Biden canceled all inaugural balls due to COVID so I guess you got me there...
