  1. Then point to actual examples of where she has failed to lead. You've made your point, she's had 2 kids. We get it.
  2. Women can have children and still lead organizations. Stop using this lazy attack.

Cuyahoga River Bank Stabilization: High Priority Areas along the Towpath Trail and Scenic Railroad "The project involves the assessment and initial design of priority bank stabilization activities along the Cuyahoga River. Bank stabilization activities are being assessed at eight separate locations within Summit and Cuyahoga Counties in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park (CVNP). The eight locations were identified by the National Park Service based on existing bank erosion and the proximity to the Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail and the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad." "The Park is seeking input on the project from the public, agency personnel, and stakeholders which will be evaluated during the detailed design process. 4. The Lincoln's site is now live and my brother-in-law provided the art for the floor plans on the site! https://www.thelincolncle.com/floorplans/
  5. @Brutus_buckeyeOkay, but reporting on the actual process in Ohio show that Cupp and Hoffman drew these maps and didn't even involve the 3 other Republicans in the process. So having a hard time believing Democrats had any say whatsoever.
  6. Could you link an article where you are seeing this, would love to read more about it.
  7. Where was the Democratic input in this districting process?
  8. Target could be a great anchor for Tower City. Not sure if that fits into Bedrocks rebranding though.
  9. Bibb has brought together a lot of experienced people from diverse backgrounds to advise him through the transition. ideastream: Justin Bibb names Cleveland mayoral transition advisors, seeks applicants for top city jobs. https://www.ideastream.org/news/justin-bibb-names-cleveland-mayoral-transition-advisors-seeks-applicants-for-top-city-jobs
  10. So it sounds like this can move forward independent of the State's support of the broader Amtrak expansion in Ohio? Would there be any direct benefit to the Port?
  11. https://www.thelandcle.org/stories/too-big-to-fail-inside-the-citys-12m-deal-to-save-shaker-square “Too big to fail”: Inside the city’s $12M deal to save Shaker Square "One of the more exciting aspects of this deal, Menesse said, is the opportunity to help re-envision the future of Shaker Square. The aging property includes a five-acre green space that could be transformed into a public park, she said. Also, large, outlying parking lots could be used for future, mixed-use development that would help spark growth in the area, she said. A few years ago, CNP and LAND Studio worked with the Coral Company on a $400,000 plan to turn the five-acre parcel into a green space that would be maintained by a public or nonprofit entity. That proposal ultimately fell apart over disagreements as to whether or not to close Shaker Boulevard. That process halted when Coral put the square up for sale." Would probably make sense to incorporate some direct pedestrian friendly connections to Larchmere.
  12. Guardians merch sales exceed team's expectations Cleveland’s baseball team — named after the Guardians of Traffic sculptures on the Hope Memorial Bridge — officially opened for business on Friday, Nov. 19, and the Progressive Field team store did big business, with sales over the first three days exceeding expectations by 40%, according to Austin Controulis, the team’s manager of communications. The team had more than 750 fans on Friday alone. The shop had 945 total transactions and 3,100 total items sold between Friday and Sunday, Nov. 21. https://www.crainscleveland.com/sportsbiz/cleveland-guardians-early-sales-exceed-expectations
  13. Well, we got some national attention. And it's not flattering. https://youtu.be/nxUf4Lplj94
  14. That may be true if they don't end up having to redraw these districts in 4 years.
  15. It will also include representatives from law enforcement organizations.
  16. Isn't it also true that CPD is already under an independent oversight board as part of the consent decree? They're still doing their jobs and when I hear about issues with the department it is usually attributable to funding. This plan would be to just make that oversight board permanent after a transition when the consent decree is lifted.
  17. A nice summary of proposed bike projects in NEO https://www.crainscleveland.com/government/progress-cycling-infrastructure-everywhere-northeast-ohio
  18. https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/redistricting-2022-maps/ohio/senate_gop_proposal/ Ohio Senate Republicans have proposed their map and somehow it's worse.
  19. Yeah, according to this analysis though it favors Republicans by only 2pts, the other 4 "competitive" districts favor Republicans by at least 11pts.
  20. https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/redistricting-2022-maps/ohio/house_gop_proposal/ Here is 538s breakdown of the districts lean. Republicans are claiming that it's an 8R, 2D with 5 competitive districts. Looks like only one competitive district to me.
  21. Well...that is a map. Would that leave 2 Democratic districts in Cleveland and Columbus? Is Akron split across 3 districts?

Hope Aftab brings the same to Cinci! And hopefully we'll finally be joining you in the Mayor's Alliance!

Add in that City Council is ~1/3 new members and a new Council President. A lot to be optimistic about.

    1) you're moving the goal posts. Your initial concern was that the commission would be made up of "regular folk who are not police experts". I give you evidence that police organizations will have representation and say, "oh well these will just be corrupt political appointees anyway". 2) You ignored half the argument that there is good reason for these responsibilities go be distanced from the Mayor.

https://www.thelandcle.org/stories/muddy-waters-issue-24-raises-heated-debate-about-police-accountability "The proposed charter amendment would create a permanent Community Police Commission to replace the exiting commission that remains in effect only as long as the Consent Decree does. The new commission, made up of mayor-appointed representatives from various Cleveland communities and police organizations, would have the final say on police discipline, policies and training programs." So giving up some control of police oversight, but there's reason to think that's a good idea to maintain a good working relationship with the Police union given their influence in politics. And it will include members of police organizations. Either The Land's reporting is wrong, which is possible, or maybe some of us need to take another look at Issue 24?
