Cleveland: Downtown Office Buildings Updates
Market for downtown offices holds steady By STAN BULLARD 9:10 am, October 23, 2006 Grubb & Ellis Co.’s third-quarter office survey dubs downtown Cleveland the region’s “most active submarket.” Through Sept. 30, the absorption of office space downtown exceeded the suburbs by 14% — 314,450 square feet downtown compared to 276,723 square feet in the suburbs. The numbers indicate the downtown market continues on the upswing for a second straight year. However, vacancy rates of both remain high: 21% downtown, 17% in the suburbs.

Cleveland: Confronting Decline in an American City (new PBS documentary)
ya know honestly, i feel like a story like this is something thats a few years too late, we dont really need a doom and gloom to scare us to action like in 2001 or 2002. I think of what needs to happen is starting to happen.

Cancelled Coventry Village "megaproject" from 1969
i dunno, granted i think that thing looks like its straight out of communism, it would have been a nice high density TOD. something cleveland lacks other than perhaps tower city. i wonder how tall that would have been?? would that be downtown heights?? heh

Downtown Cleveland Video Game Incubator
well its more like cia needs to do something about it's t.i.m.e. major, its getting to a point where there needs to be a split between Game Design and Film/Performance. If there was an actual Game Design major it would become a much stronger program.

Downtown Cleveland Video Game Incubator
hmm man, some of those names of people being interviewed are people that i know, and i wouldnt say they're the best at cia as far as motivation and creativity. not to be a wet blanket, because i think Knut (the prof teaching the class) is a breath of fresh air in cia's ivory tower.

Cleveland: Random Development and News
i drove through east cleveland the other day, with all the great stuff going on in university circle you tend to forget how bad at gets just past the rail tracks heh this is a great development actually, it would be nice to see more people do little things all over cleveland like this. like if someone were moving into cleveland by buying property and then building their house and several houses on it as well. it would make for a lot more organic development rather than a developer coming in and doing 200 units. its a lot more people scale.
