Don't tread on Cleveland water
hmm no lake erie didnt catch on fire, the cuyahoga river did... over 30 years ago... ya know, its not like some young person now would even really get the joke unless they were from cleveland. this is not a big deal, it could easily be replaced with Detoit, Boston, Pittsburgh, Baltimore, Philly, etc... kinda like the salsa commercials that made fun of the "other brand" being made in New York City... did NYC get heated up and claim they have a huge influx of immigrants that know their salsa recipes? no.

Cleveland Hopkins International Airport
http://news.cheapflights.com/airlines/2006/07/eriely_good_dea.html Located not far from the shores of Lake Erie is one of this country’s most flier-friendly airports: Cleveland Hopkins International (CLE). Now there is word that the airport has become even more customer-conscious. Cleveland fliers can now get right to the point, ferreting out deals on local discount airfares by going to www.CLEsmartfares.com. The airport-operated site serves up low fares to top destinations out of Hopkins International. Choose a time frame, and specify a destination. A CLE smartfares “Boarding Pass” appears on the screen laying out the airline, destination airport, and – most importantly – the price. You can also search for fares by specific carrier. Cleveland says its site is the only airport-operated Web site that provides updated fares throughout the day. It’s straightforward, user-friendly, and devoid of gimmicks. A lot of the fares the site pulls up are likely to be on Continental Airlines. CLE is a major hub for the carrier. It’s also a significant destination for discount airline Southwest. In all, airlines loft more than 2,200 flights per week from this Lake Erie aerie to more than 80 nonstop destinations. If the site is straightforward, so too is getting to Hopkins. It’s located near downtown, and is accessible by light rail as well as via Interstate Highways 71, 77, 271, and 480.

Cleveland: Flats Developments (Non-Stonebridge or FEB)
I really like this whole building by building approach. a dense neighborhood full of well designed 8-12 story buildings will be great for the flats. Im wondering whats going to happen in regard to the gambling issue though. what if it doesnt pass, and i dont think it will, will Nautica be interested in doing something else with the property?

Cleveland: Festivals, Music Concerts, & Events
^ i agree, it could definately get those areas more visable and also give the festival a distinct look, so when people think of Ingenuity, they think of lower euclid/prospect. that would strengthen it and then allow it to expand to other areas rather than to move around every year

Cleveland - Swiss dental firm shifts U.S. offices to downtown
Swiss dental firm shifts U.S. offices to downtown Cleveland Wednesday, July 19, 2006 Peter Krouse Plain Dealer Reporter The U.S. arm of a Swiss dental implant manufacturer will be moving its offices from Bartlesville, Okla., to Playhouse Square in downtown Cleveland. The arrival of Thommen Medical USA in early September will be widely heralded by the city, which hopes to use the firm's selection of Cleveland as an example to other medical-device companies considering a move here. "This is a significant deal for the city," said Michael DeAloia, Cleveland's technology czar. Thommen Medical will be renting space in the Idea Center on Euclid Avenue. It will employ 20 to 25 people, of whom about 12 have already been hired, said David Gentile, the chief executive of Thommen Medical USA. ... More at: http://www.cleveland.com

Cleveland: Festivals, Music Concerts, & Events
my main issues with the whole thing is that its a big ball of confusion walking around there, a lot of the stuff borders on gimmicks rather than art, and it needs more advertising. I thought this year i was gonna see a ton of improvements, but it was still kinda not so much better... however, those are some cool shots i must say
