Greater Cleveland RTA News & Discussion
yea on my trip to nyc last february we took the rapid from U Circle to the Airport. convenient. Hour flight. quick. We land at Laguardia and had to wait for a taxi/shuttle to get to the hotel. lots of waiting. i remember standing there amazed about the "taxi waiting area" being this long line of people as if they were waiting for a train to come.

Cleveland BioLabs betting on future of bioscience in Northeast Ohio
First toss since 2000: Cleveland BioLabs betting on future of bioscience in Northeast Ohio Sunday, April 30, 2006 Mary Vanac Plain Dealer Reporter A proposed initial public offering by Cleveland BioLabs Inc. is generat ing buzz in Northeast Ohio financing circles and beyond. The offering is the first bioscience IPO proposed in the region since 2000. Two others were filed but withdrawn during that time. If the offering succeeds, Cleveland BioLabs would be the first local bioscience company to go public since 1996. The Cleveland company, which is developing injectable drugs to ward off radiation and chemical poisoning, also would be the first in the current class of bioscience hopefuls to graduate to the stock market. What could the proposed offering mean for Northeast Ohio? For one, it could be a psychological boost. "Is this good news for Cleveland? Sure it is," said Mike Jackson, an investment banker who is managing director of KeyBanc Capital Markets in Cleveland. Jackson leads the health care group there. More at Cleveland.com

Ohio Education / School Funding Discussion
Poll says schools should share wealth Friday, April 28, 2006 Becky Gaylord Plain Dealer Reporter Northeast Ohioans broadly support a system of school financing that would spread money more evenly across districts -- even if that comes at the expense of wealthier schools, a wide-ranging Gallup poll found. Support for more equitable school financing cuts across racial and geographic lines, according to the poll, released Thursday. While some governments in Northeast Ohio have begun working together to provide recreation and emergency services, the survey's findings suggest the most significant support yet for major regional cooperation. Respondents weren't asked to comment on a specific school financing plan; rather, whether they would "favor or oppose a regional system of school funding that would increase equity across public districts but could be at the expense of wealthier school districts." ... http://www.cleveland.com/news/plaindealer/index.ssf?/base/cuyahoga/114621354823960.xml&coll=2

NYC - Mostly Manhattan - Feb 2006
i would say its one of those "you have to be there" type installations because even these photos dont completely explain what its like and after swimming in it, its quite the unsafe pool as well. Since its a dimly lit room with a floor thats flush with the surface of the water... not to mention all the strange illusions the light does with it.
