  1. May Co?? really?? was it the "groop" display from that gallery. i know they have that in there. Spaces recently had something playing in the other windows of a video project an artist from Poland did in Cleveland about homelessness. But just two weeks ago i helped take those down and i didnt think anything was being put up in there in its place. which btw the inside of the May Co building is completely and utterly scraped clean of anything it once was. Its all concrete and looks more like a run down parking garage than the big department store it once was. its kinda sad
  2. wow this is looking really intense. seeing it all put together like this its like almost half of downtown is getting built on, except almost all of it is on surface lots/port. is the lower euclid/prospect area part of this? i see theres buildings on the parking lots there too...

  6. :-o wow! that looks intense! and thats just phase 1... given his past projects getting done and going for an area thats already hot and in the middle of downtown i really think some if not all of this will become reality. this is really exciting

i have to say im glad that these are in place. just last week i got into an accident in which another car ran a red light and hit me. i've seen so many people just blatantly go through red lights, its ridiculous.
  15. Your ideas for Downtown storefronts Does the sight of empty and neglected storefronts in Downtown Cleveland make you yearn for the days of yore when a well-dressed storefront wouldn't dare go bare? Concerned and creative citizens can come to the rescue of the storefronts by submitting their ideas for exciting new installations. If you have an idea for an installation, know someone who you think would want to participate, are a store owner who would like your storefront to be involved, or just have questions about the project, email [email protected]. 16. i have to agree with this article, as a cia student, it sucks to have to rely on slides to see artwork. kinda glad im working at Spaces. i think the contemporary galleries will see more interest from places like cia
  17. wasnt this an idea with the ingenuity festival where downtown storefronts had art installations in the windows. if im not mistaken Spaces gallery had two in the old Higbee building. I think it would work better to have actual art galleries renting these spaces to show artwork in sort of as an offsite approach to advertising their gallery and to show artwork that isnt found so much in cleveland (installation/new media).
