Cleveland: Downtown: The Avenue District
The Rebirth of City Living City Living Series Part 1 Lifestyle – a buzz word in the home building industry among developers and potential buyers. It is a unique term that is transforming the way new neighborhoods are planned. It is also a word at the forefront of Zaremba’s mind regarding their plans for The Avenue District. Incorporating ones lifestyle is an important factor when making a decision to purchase a new home. Everyone wants to live in a community where they find everything at their fingertips. But, where can you truly find this place without having to drive? The city is just that place. A rebirth of city living is blossoming across the country with downtown residential developments like The Avenue District. Cleveland is now at the forefront of this movement. There are close to 10,000 residents who already live in Downtown Cleveland including 3,000 in The Avenue District alone. The Theatre and Warehouse Districts, The Gateway Neighborhood, and The Flats house the other 7,000 residents. There are many benefits to downtown living that have contributed to this rebirth. The opportunity to live in a walkable neighborhood, the rise in gas prices, and the close proximity to sporting events, concerts, restaurants, nightclubs, and cultural venues are drawing residents to move back to the core of the city. Offering trendy, sophisticated, and unique living in Downtown Cleveland promises many opportunities that nearby suburbs can not offer its residents and is another reason people are flocking to these urban dwellings. One of the many residential development projects assisting in this rebirth of Downtown Cleveland living is The Avenue District. With major residential developments taking place all over the city, Clevelanders have many exciting opportunities to embark upon an urban lifestyle. If you are interested in lifestyle living, now is your chance to join others and take advantage of all of the new developments in the heart of Downtown Cleveland. an email i got from their website, seems to be some good spin on downtown cleveland, but 3000 people already live there???

Cleveland: Flats East Bank
Developer unveils bold blueprint for Flats office By STAN BULLARD 6:00 am, October 10, 2005 The office market in downtown Cleveland has been so weak for so long that real estate insiders rarely talk about the prospect of someone constructing a commercial office building in the city. But that isn't stopping Scott Wolstein from incorporating a 10-story, multitenant office building in his redevelopment plans for the Flats. Despite a 23% downtown office vacancy rate, Mr. Wolstein said he believes his proposed, 275,000-square-foot structure could be 'a signature building that would be a part of the future of Cleveland.' It would be located north of Front Street on a site overlooking Lake Erie and the rest of the planned, $230 million complex of apartments, condos and stores that are envisioned by Mr. Wolstein's family-owned Wolstein Group. Flats plan on approval fast track Wolstein scurries for city’s OK so he can beat rising interest rates By STAN BULLARD 6:00 am, October 3, 2005 Scott Wolstein and supporters of his $230 million plan to remake the East Bank of the Flats are seeking rapid Cleveland City Council approval of legislation to move the project forward, but the developer maintains his need for speed is driven more by interest rate hikes out of Washington than political considerations at home. Cleveland - Case unveils $126 million, apartment-style housing
after using the usually desolate e120th rapid station this evening i've noticed this new development has REALLY triggered more ridership by students since its within really close walking distance of the new case dorms. even from tower city theres more kids waiting on a weekday night for the eastbound redline train. its rather noticeable and nice since usually i see the one lone fellow art student using that station in the past

Quicken Loans expanding to Cleveland
its hard to tell what else this could mean. on one hand maybe he is thinking down the line of moving to cleveland, or adding more gradual to the cleveland center. on the hand this could just be the fact that cleveland isnt used to people like this being so enthusiastic about downtown. all i can say is that i was downtown today and there seemed to be a lot of "spectators" walking around taking photos and whatnot.

Is Over-the-Rhine As Bad As They Say?
yea i must say from someone outside of cincy, im confused as to what OTR actually is. a friend of mine whos from cincy will always say "yea you dont want to be in downtown cincinnati at night" as opposed to being in cleveland's warehouse district till 3am. but to me, and this is just from passing by at night, it didnt seem too "scary" downtown in cincinnati.

Quicken Loans expanding to Cleveland
Cavs Owner To Locate 350 High-Paying Jobs Here Cleveland Cavs owner Dan Gilbert, who also is chairman of Quicken Loans, on Thursday said he’s selected Cleveland as the site for a new loan office that will create 350 high-paying jobs, as in $85,000-$90,000 a year in salary and commission. Office will be located downtown, as close to Gund Arena as possible, Gilbert said. Set to open mid-2006. Jobs will be for mortgage bankers/loan officers who will process incoming customer calls/ loan applications. The office will not telemarket, so it’s not a call center.
