I actually opted not to ride the street cars or any public transport. the city felt so walkable that i just went everywhere by foot. you get to experience the city a lot better that way too. its so dense. on the map we were staying close to the gehry building and it looked like it would be a really far way up the river to where the tourist stuff is, but in a matter of maybe 10 minutes we were already there. haha we almost got the green fairy... it was rather cheap! but we opted for the amazing beer there instead.

I disagree about the suburb to suburb thing, I know quite a few people who commute from Akron to Cleveland and vice-versa and im talking city-propers.
  4. No they wont, they're "democrats". Thats the whole problem, they wont be held accountable due to the stupid notion that people here tend to just vote for a democrat for the sake of it.
  5. 1801 to 1971? nothing happened in between?
  6. well i agree, and most of us on here agree and im pretty sure its been discussed a lot on here. but... does RTA agree or even care? thats the big question heh

Moon over Ireland on the flight to Frankfurt, DE My favorite Frank Gehry building, built from 1992-1996 The view of it when we first arrived at the river from the train station The hotel we stayed at, The Guesthouse Merlin. 1160 kr/night (roughly $55) The view out the window from the hotel room Old woman on the street The Opera House Scary traffic jam near The Charles Bridge Scary traffic, there werent too many traffic lights, I wasnt sure how the traffic worked there. Astrology clock says Sun in Pisces and Moon in Aquarius Tourists watching for the clock to turn at the hour? I guess for some puppet to come out? Lots of castles in that city. This particular square has over 800 years of architecture around it. See? heres pedestrian traffic, totally out did anything close to NYC or Cleveland after a game hah Detail of bridge entrance Rooftops There was a wedding going on down below Beer: 80 cents. Cheese pastry: 50 cents. Having these for breakfast in public: priceless... Me at the train station getting ready to head back to our friends in Germany.

  21. well thats wonderful news about the visual arts center, that would look quite amazing in that area of downtown.
  22. The architects will be in town next week at CIA to talk to faculty and students and see what the needs are. so no there isnt any rendering or proposal yet
  23. i like Joni Mitchell's so much better
  24. ok for an instance like this, look at the Peter B Lewis Building. First off, iconic, CSU needs this desperately. Second even thought its a weird inside out sculpture, the building goes right up against the street. theres a restaurant right visible on the street. and third, theres still room for greenspace... off to the side and behind the building... not in front. i think this building needs to lose the curvy footprint, go up to the street, and it needs more glass facing euclid.
  25. ^ but that did happen in 2004... http://www.pbase.com/zipfile/flugtag
