Apartments built on former Giant Eagle site now leasing ahead of spring opening "A years-long effort to transform a Columbus site previously home to a Giant Eagle into a residential development with retail is nearing completion. Named “Jaeger Square,” the multi-family development is located at 850 Jaeger St. near the German Village neighborhood and is now accepting leasing applications ahead of the building’s spring opening. The multi-story building features 261 units including studio, one, two and three-bedroom layouts, starting at $1,000 per month. Resident amenities include onsite parking within an attached 262-space garage, a fitness facility with yoga studio, a rooftop solarium, co-working offices, an artist studio and a clubroom.   2. Blume on 16th Breaks Ground in the University District "A Chicago developer has broken ground on a five-story student apartment building that will replace a University District church. The complex, called Blume on 16th, will sit on property occupied for decades by Summit on 16th United Methodist Church. The development firm Up Campus Student Living bought the 1.3-acre site at 82 E. 16th Ave. in October for $5.1 million and has demolished the church. The complex will include 74 apartments and 325 bedrooms in two- to six-bedroom layouts. Road construction, growth near Tanger Outlet Mall A couple of road work projects are completed in Berkshire Township, while construction continues on numerous projects near the Tanger Outlet Mall. The U.S. Route 36/state Route 37 and Galena Road work is done. Gone is the old building that sat at the northeast corner, and the north and south portions of Galena Road are no longer blocked off to traffic. Also now under construction is The Carlton at Berkshire located on the east side of South Wilson Road and south of State Route 37. The plan includes 312 apartments and is expected to be finished in late fall of 2025.” Across from Tanger on Wilson Road are two other projects: - Ivy Wood is a new residential development located on North Wilson Road between Route 37 and North Galena Road. Historic Dublin Road home being demolished for large apartment complex "An estate set amidst “80-year-old trees” at 4747 Dublin Road near Hayden Run is being razed to make way for an apartment complex. Columbus City Council unanimously passed the rezoning for up to 192 units. Columbus City Council defended the project, pointing to the city’s urgent need for housing. Former CSX Property in Chillicothe to Undergo Cleanup with $1 Million Grant "The former CSX property near Chillicothe’s City Transit Station is set for transformation, thanks to $1 million in funding from the Ohio Department of Development’s Brownfield Remediation Program. The funds, awarded to the Ross County Land Reutilization Corporation, aim to prepare the site for future development. The grant will support remediation efforts on the site, enabling future residential and commercial projects. Microsoft buys another 43 acres in Pataskala for $11.4 million amid data center projects "As Microsoft plans to invest $1 billion in three data center campuses across Licking County, the tech giant is expanding its footprint in Pataskala as well. The company purchased another 43.17 acres at Etna Parkway and Refugee Road for $11.44 million on Nov. 14, according to the Licking County Auditor's website. The property is adjacent to 289 acres on Refugee Road that the company bought last fall for $30.65 million.
