New buyer to tear down Latitude Five25 "A massive problem property in Columbus just sold to global institutional buyers less than two years after tenants were forced out Christmas Day. Now, attorneys say Latitude Five25 will face the wrecking ball within the year under the new owners who plan to start over. Attorneys say Nuveen plans to demolish the towers and rebuild a new 400-unit complex. More than 200 units would be designated for lower-income housing. 170 units would be generational which means they'd be for tenants who live with their parents. Even before having possession of the towers, lawyers say Nuveen is already looking at the adjacent property, which belongs to Columbus City Schools. They say the property contains a vacant school building, which Nuveen would like to buy for phase two of their new development.
