Infrastructure projects continue across the Rockwell District at Broad and Hamilton. The main connectors on site are now passable, so I was able to enter at the main entrance off of Broad and take it over and exit the development on Hamilton Rd. for the first time. Although vertical construction hasn't started yet, the difference from just a few years ago when it was Woodcliff Condominiums is already quite drastic. I didn't realize until yesterday that the Rockwell District will be fully integrated into the adjacent Whitehall Community Park. I've noticed a little more activity at the Rice Bowl in the last week or so. I was assuming they were going to tear it down soon!

We live in Merion Village about a mile from there. My neighbor works at the Fort, so he fills me in from time to time. Here's the latest I've heard on both City Winery and Steelton Village: City Winery has already bought the building and has a sign up. Apparently, they are currently finishing up on a new location in another city. Once it's up and running, they will turn their focus to the Columbus location on South High. They still plan on work to start on the Columbus location in 2024. Steelton Village is a couple years away until we see vertical construction. Currently, they are renovating the inside of a couple of the buildings on the south part of the site along South High. Once those projects are complete, those will hold multiple retailers. They've already cleaned up some of the land that's on the far north part of the site closer to where the property hits the tracks behind where Dan's Drive Inn was. They plan on using the bulk of the Brownfield Remediation Funds they were awarded for cleanup in 2024. Demolition of most of the buildings on site isn't expected until late 2024 or early 2025. They plan to start vertical construction in late 2025
