Central Ohio seeing ‘largest thrust’ of construction projects in state, union council says "Orange cones dot the side of most central Ohio highways and a rotation of cranes decorate the Columbus skyline. Central Ohio is seeing the “largest thrust” of construction projects right now in the state, he said, and it is not just relegated to the roads. “It seems like we’ve been sitting on this demand for a while now,” Knisley said in an interview. “All of a sudden, everyone wants everything built at the same time.” Central Ohio is also seeing a slew of construction projects in other sectors, from higher education projects to those creating housing. "We’ve seen this before on a smaller scale,” he said. “I think we’re just ready for it.” https://www.nbc4i.com/news/local-news/central-ohio-seeing-largest-thrust-of-construction-projects-in-state-union-council-says/amp/

  11. It's so interesting watching this all go down- and so quickly We were out there to see the first houses and trees cleared on the site, and to see the difference today is stunning. And it's still in the very early stages! If you like being around construction as far as the eye can see- for miles, go drive around the site. Basically the entire area between 161 and Green Chapel- I've never seen so many different projects under construction at the same time in an area this size.
  12. Road widening all around the Intel site is moving along nicely- Snatched a couple quick ones from Clover Valley Rd The Intel site is roughly 1 mile ahead on the right

  17. The second phase of the massive Buckstone project on the far south side is ramping up. Buckstone Bend, which will include hundreds of SFH's, officially kicked off this week after the show house was built a few weeks ago. Buckstone Bend is adjacent to Buckstone Flats
  18. A little more about "Current" "Current sculpture comprises 78 miles of twine and over 500,000 knots- The sculpture is made of nylon fabric that does not snag birds and will be suspended by cables from nearby buildings, according to The Columbus Museum of Art. Made of 78 miles of red and blue twine and more than 500,000 knots, the billowy wisp will be visible from airplanes and illuminated at night." https://www.dispatch.com/story/entertainment/arts/2023/05/27/large-art-sculpture-installed-downtown-columbus-high-street/70262258007/

  21. There's a lot going on along the E Main corridor for sure. There was probably five or more other projects that I just didn't have time to hit. I did notice that dirt's moving at the Wilson Ridge Townhome site on Waggoner Rd near E Main now as well. Link for reference: https://www.dispatch.com/story/news/local/reynoldsburg/2021/04/08/wilson-ridge-townhomes-reynoldsburg-planning-commission-oks-80-unit-waggoner-road-project/7128641002/
  22. We ate at Flavor 91 for lunch today. While we were there, Moses (one of the co-owners) gave me a little update on the apartments they're planning on building behind the restaurant. He said they've already gained approval and are currently in the process of designing the room layout of the apartments. Because of sewer capacity, the city of Whitehall would only approve 28 apartments on site rather than the 36 originally planned. He said they hope to break ground in about a year.
