A series of projects to reconstruct Interstates 70/71 in downtown Columbus is currently under construction. The current phases will add a few more caps over 70/71 on the south side of Downtown by 2027 The Third Street cap will be the biggest of the three new caps and will stitch German Village and Downtown Columbus back together via Third Street: As part of this phase of Downtown Ramp Up, smaller caps will also be built on the Fourth Street, Front Street and High Street bridges over 70/71. The city of Columbus kicked in $25 million toward the caps. Rendering of Front St: Rendering of High St: https://www.transportation.ohio.gov/projects/mega-projects/mega-projects/7071

Columbus: Parsons Avenue Corridor Developments and News
CbusOrBust replied to CMH_Downtown's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionThe Parsons Avenue Transmission Project continues to move along on the far south side. One part of the project will remove five miles of old electrical towers along Parsons Ave running from Marion Rd to just south of the Rathmell and Parsons intersection. The towers will be replaced with three miles of modern electrical towers that will run from Interstate 270 to the Route 23 interchange. Last year, crews removed all the old towers south of Rathmell Road on Parsons. Recently, crews have began prepping to bring down the remaining towers, which stretch north on Parsons from Rathmell Road to Marion Road.
