  2. The Brunson is going to be a great project. It is being done by the same company who just did Parkview on Goodale park on the edge of 670 and victorian village. The company is amazing and leaves no deatail undone. I dont see anything other than the rendering of that on here. Also, does anyone have final pics of the arena crossing? half of the 250 something apartments have opened. IT looks really good, the best part is the walkway between the north market and the restaurant alley where bucca/starbucks/and gordon biersh are. The whole area blends beautifully. Also, construction has started on Burnham Square condos(ones across from archpark in arena district. the parking garage is finished. Expect this one to move fast as nationwide is doing it and has all the needed funds etc. Excelion lofts (sp?) is already gutted and being renovated as well. Expect that project to be completed by 2005 at the latest.
  3. i thought the repulican headquarters were on town? i know the democratic one is on state :)
  4. Here is an article from the Columbus Business First journal. Details happenings in the three blocks on Gay St. Marriott has two new properties as well as the new Italian restaurant that will open lunch and dinnner opening right near Camron Mitchell's Steakhouse. New apartments, also, opened on Gay St. earlier this year. These apartments are without parking. Something most developers in Columbus won't touch. On a side note Gay St. is slated to be turned from one way to two way. Duo banks on office crowd to feed restaurant startup Due Amici Restaurant Ltd. has signed a lease with GoDowntown Ltd. to develop a restaurant at 67 E. Gay St. in downtown Columbus. The restaurant, scheduled to open in December, will be named Due Amici. The name means "two friends" in Italian. The restaurant is expected to reflect the personalities and interests of co-owners Don Ziliak and Jeff Mathes. Mathes and Ziliak are targeting the downtown office crowd for lunch and hope to capitalize on nearby development efforts in the area for dinner trade. "With new businesses moving downtown, the construction of two Marriott hotels and an influx of young professionals, the Gay Street corridor is effectively primed for an inventive dining experience," Ziliak says. Marriott International Inc. acquired the former Adam's Mark hotel on North Third Street this year and is converting it into a high-end Renaissance hotel. The company also is turning the Buckeye Federal office building on East Gay Street into one of its Marriott Residence Inn extended-stay lodges. The restaurant project is being financed by Fifth Third Bank, Community Capital Development Corp. and the Small Business Administration. 5. Residential, retail projects fuel ongoing development of the Brewery District Business First of Columbus - by Brian R. Ball, Business First Friday, September 3, 2004 A walk down the central part of the Brewery District, along Front Street just south of Livingston Avenue, shows an evolution. Gone is the Banana Joe's bar in the Worly Building. In its place is an Italian-themed restaurant and nightclub called Bella's. Also gone from Front Street is Howl at the Moon, a saloon-type entertainment venue that featured live piano music. It closed earlier this year and is likely to be replaced by office space. When redevelopment of the downtown's Brewery District began 17 years ago, the area quickly established itself as the entertainment hot spot for the region's young and restless. But since then, the neighborhood has matured, especially during recent years. And though its character has changed, it remains a steady development market. cleveland is undoubtly the leader in the big three cities when it comes to creating downtown living. Cinci and cbus have both followed its lead. It is nice to look at what cleveland has done and only imagine what the other two cities will look like in ten years.

hey guys i am wondering where you found the exact numbers for the populations of the downtowns? I remember somewhere Columbus posting the number of units in each city on their website but that’s all i knew of. Whatever Cincinnati’s projection is, it’s most likely underestimated. The city has seen a greater development lately. I do know for a fact that if this is saying that these are the populations the cities will have by 2010 Columbus' projection is also underestimated. Since just 2002 the downtown area of Columbus has seen a little over 600 new units of housing open. This is not counting the other nearly 800 that is under construction right now. Even if only one person lives in each unit downtown Columbus has already seen the addition of at least 600 something new people since 2002. When this projection was calculated the city had not yet started their plan to tax subsidize residential developments. That's just my two cents though. I found the website here with all information didn’t see it posted yet www.downtowncolumbus.com
