Cleveland: Ohio City: Development and News
I am hoping GLB can find a suitable space for the production facility somewhere in the city. What about the old Platform Brewing building I wonder if that is available. With that said I was never on board with the GLB moving the production to SP. I mean I hope they would still build something along the river but there could be another 400/500 residences where the production facility would go. Even if they just built something on the river they could get another partner on board to build something mixed use for the other part.

Cleveland: Random Development and News
That's so funny I have the same poster😀 And yes I have always wanted the Cleveland Sports Commission to pursue another road race, the Grand Prix was great. I went to four of them. The thing about BKL was you could see the whole course from the stands. But I always thought about placing the start/finish/pit area at the Mall on Lakeside and then head west down Lakeside and use the Memorial Bridge and the West Shoreway, past the Westinghouse curve to Upper Edgewater and then back. I could see fans all over Edgewater Park that week.

This is great news from the KJP article regarding the Ohio City Hotel: Whalen also said this project will replace many of the cracked and broken sidewalks near the development site and bury the utility lines along Lorain and West 26th. Whalen gets it.- Cleveland: Downtown: Huntington Bank Field
Here is something interesting from the history books in 1986 regarding another Governor and a Dome in Cleveland. Rhodes : $ 100 million for stadium Associated Press CLEVELAND - Saying Gov . Richard Celeste hasn ' t done enough to support a proposed domed stadium in Cleveland , Republican gubernatorial candidate James A . Rhodes said Wednesday he would commit $ 100 million in state money to the project if elected ^ ____^__ "I promise to be in Cleveland at 4 p . m . the day after the November election to work out a complete program with the local officials to get the dome built , " Rhodes said . "I would be prepared to commit state financial help for the project . " Asked how much the state would provide , Rhodes replied : "I think you ' re looking at 75-100 million dollars , whether it ' s a loan or the state gives it to you . " Gerry Austin , Celeste ' s campaign manager , called Rhodes ' $ 100 million promise " typical Jim Rhodes balderdash . " "He makes promises , promises , promises which he is never able to keep , " Austin said from his Columbus office . Austin said Celeste has been a strong supporter of the domed stadium and has worked closely with civic and governmental leaders on the project . Dennis Lafferty , executive director of the Greater Cleveland Domed Stadium Corporation , also objected to Rhodes' comments on Celeste ' s support . Lafferty said Celeste had brought together a civic committee in January 198 S to get the domed stadium issue back on track , after Cuyahoga County voters rejected a property tax increase to build a domed stadium , "The governor came in at that point , and he has stuck with it , " said Lafferty . "He has done everything that we have asked him to do . He has pitched in totally . " The Domed Stadium Corporation , a non-profit group , was formed in June 1985 to coordinate efforts to build a domed stadium in downtown Cleveland to replace the city-owned Cleveland Stadium . Financing plans call for twothirds to come from the private sector and the remaining onethird from the public sector .- The Official *I Love Cleveland* Thread

Regarding a roof on the current stadium, lets be real here Jimmy knows whats up. I am sure his architect/engineers have told him yes it is possible to put a roof on the current stadium, would you like us to proceed on that design? Um nooo not right now he replied, lets stick to the BP plan. With the advancement in structural engineering it allows for lighter, more efficient designs. Cable-net systems, used with modern glass roofs, can distribute loads , reducing the overall weight. Fixed translucent glass roofs are lighter than a traditional retractable steel/concrete roof. Look at the translucent roof on SoFi it is supported by 36 separate columns and is independent of the super-structure itself. And btw BKL is also landfill so why does no one ever question that when talks for a dome stadium are presented there. I am sure Vocon would not have rendered a stadium at BKL with a fixed translucent glass roof on land that it could not be built on.- Brook Park: New Cleveland Browns Stadium
I know Jimmy in the past indicated that they looked at putting a dome on the current stadium but said it was not possible. It is possible and a 75 year old stadium in Madrid begs to differ. https://www.l35.com/en/projects/santiago-bernabeu-stadium.html- Cleveland Browns Discussion

Just wanted to follow up on a post of a couple months ago. My thought was I believe that construction could take place at BKL while the airport remained open. This could mean construction could begin at BKL within the next two years. In the previous post I quoted the FAA rules regarding construction at an airport and within the flight path. I can only point to the LGA 5 billion dollar transformation of LaGuardia Airport. Keep in mind LGA handles 500 passenger planes a day and millions of customers. BKL handles like 2% of that traffic with small and corporate planes, so if construction can take place there why not here? LGA is similar in size and layout of the BKL field. The main runway at LGA and BKL is similar in distance to the construction zone. Meaning the space between the runway and construction at BKL and LGA is about 1200 ft. And other terminals at other airports under construction is similar. To me this should be Plan B and Huntington would be Plan C. And now that we are regrettably a RED state and rules no longer apply the city/county should be on the phone to Moreno/Vance/Husted and ask them to make this happen with the current FAA. Long term the airport could be closed in 5 years or ten years, But it shouldn't stand in the way of the construction of the Dome at BKL. - Cleveland: Ohio City: Development and News
