To me I see a need for both. The once mostly funded Rosales bridge leading into the Rock Hall and the attractions at North coast Harbor would have made a beautiful statement. While the land bridge an extension of the mall is part of a different development . A larger long term project.

That's fine, but it's more about a visitors experience and impression of your city. That's where we are losing.

Obviously I m speaking out of frustration. Still I try and stay positive with these developments. But there is a very good chance 5 years from now there will be no bridge. I was a big proponent of the Rosales design. We were just months away from that starting construction. I remember posting at the time it may not happen for another 10 years.

Just build that! No more studies or renderings, public meetings or surveys. Find the money, get permits and break ground by the end of the year. That bridge is fine build that first.

News... Mr. Appelbaum explained that several months ago the Board came together to discuss the repurposing of the Global Center and engaged TVS Services as a design team to explore the most optimal reconfiguration. He stated that conceptual design has been completed and includes the following elements: The Infrastructure Work, which involves creation of a monumental stair and additional exiting, escalators, additional restrooms, and other changes to convert the Global Center from a showroom to a meeting center, adding approx. 86,000 square feet to be used as meeting space (exclusive of changes to the Junior Ballroom); the Junior Ballroom expansion from 10,000 to 20,000 square feet to create multiple divisible breakout spaces by expanding out toward Ontario and into the Atrium. This will also create a rooftop venue space; Upper Floor Modifications to create new meeting spaces on floors two through four. Finally, the exterior of the Global Center will be updated and will create new front entryways on the east and west side. Mr. Appelbaum stated that these modifications will help CCCFDC move forward with the types of meetings it wants to host. The concept design has been completed and the Project is ready to move forward to the schematic phase. Mayor Sellers suggested the Board authorize Mr. Appelbaum to develop a strategic implementation schedule including events and cash flow for the Board to review and to pursue additional dialogue with the County to explore how to implement the plan, aiming for completion of this phase within the next few weeks with the aim to present to the county within three to five weeks. Mr. Appelbaum presented to the Board the invoice from TVS Services Inc. in the amount of $166,228.84, which covers the conceptual design and all work done to date, and which invoice has been vetted by PMC and ASM Global. Mr. Hillow stated that his recommendation is to approve.- Cleveland: MetroHealth Medical Center
i think this is a more in depth view of the interior that had been posted. Having been to Seidman UH recently this looks similiar in interior finishes, very calming. Seidman is a great building. I expect even better with this one.- Cleveland: Random Photos

Took the OC from the Clinic through 490 at about 2pm today and traffic was very busy, as they were actively planting trees on a nice day. But what struck me is the amount of "ready to go" land that has been opened up for development. I hope it becomes more than a place to put warehousing. It can be much more than that. Also I wonder if 490 is in the future plans for a makeover because it needs it.- Cleveland: Opportunity Corridor Boulevard

^ Agreed the Foundry Lofts in MidTown is my favorite project currently. I love the darker brick and the industrial vibe. I could see rows and rows of those on SP on narrow streets positioned along a boardwalk and boat docks. https://www.foundryloftscle.com/- Cleveland: West Park / Kamms Corners: Development and News

Scoreboard sign will be up for review this week. Looking pretty much the same with the new Guardians name. Kind of underwhelming. Btw I have always hated the size and placement of the scoreboard. I wish with the new renovations it could be downsized and placed more toward Center field. Positioned behind the bullpen at about the same level but smaller. That way we could open up views to the city and all the new development in the coming years.- Cleveland: Opportunity Corridor Boulevard
A question from someone on the odot site. Q:Can’t something be done with the historic Sidaway suspension bridge? It’s so close to the project and would be excellent for the pathway being built in conjunction with the project. A:We all agree that the Sidaway Bridge is interesting, historic, and culturally important. As you point out, it is relatively close to the route of the Opportunity Corridor (OC). That said, we do not agree that it could be used for the multipurpose path being construction as part of the OC project. There are obvious concerns with the age and condition of the structure, as it was built over 90 years ago and has not been used for 55 years. Beyond those concerns, the deck or walking surface of the existing structure was designed to be six feet wide and would not meet current standards for a multiuse path. The OC project is constructing a new crossing of the Kingsbury Run Valley , north of the Sidaway Bridge, that will include a 19 foot wide multiuse path/sidewalk. We feel this new crossing will provide better connectivity between E 55th Street and locations located east of Kinsman Road. Thank You btw the flicker page has 129 photos of the last section. Looks like some recent paving has been done. https://www.flickr.com/photos/ohiodot/sets/72157716300618392/- Cleveland: Downtown: nuCLEus
I guess I am not understanding, there doesn't seem to be enough room at Key. Especially with the space requirements you quoted in the article. I cant see Benesch down sizing that much. Can you? - Cleveland: Downtown: Convention Center Atrium & Expansion
