  1. The NRP proposal is back on the agenda for next week. And I agree who ever said it up thread but 200+ units on 7 acres is horrible use of space especially when a third of that is for parking. Hope they learned something from the last go round.

I agree. The view from NCH is the best view we have, definitely a big city feel. That's why it's so important that we make sure there are enough public spaces included in whatever development goes on the lakefront property. If we can ever get the land bridge together, imagine walking from the harbor up through the mall with the city in the background, very nice.
  3. Panhandlers, in a big city? Say it's not true. I go about a dozen times a year and bring friends people from out of town, mostly just to people watch , and take in the experience. I don't disagree with the condition of Ontario I'm talking about the higbee building itself. Ontario from Carnegie to Public Square needs a streetscape upgrade, no question. The maintenance of the street/sidewalks is the city's responsibility and they do a poor job there and a lot of places.
  4. ^ couldn't disagree more. It resulted in a beautifully restored historic building, over 10 years ago when nothing was being restored. I have no problem with the location. And I'll definitely take it over those horrible stucco looking buildings in cincy and cbust.
  5. Exactly. First tear down that garage, and put up a new building,. Then maybe we can talk about a bridge...
  6. Yeah I get that, but I also remember at the time there were thoughts to pay homage to League Park and the brick buildings that were demolished for Gateway, which I would have preferred. Keep in mind the exposed girders were also a cost-saving measure, but at this point I'm just looking for a new fresh paint job.
  7. I was never a fan of all the exposed white beams on the exterior. I don't think those have been painted since it opened. I would like to see more glass and brick but that's just me. I am just guessing that the Indians are definitely jealous of what has happened with the Q/ RMF. I could see something like that work at Progressive.
  8. So there was a piece from WKYC a couple of days ago regarding Haslems plans for the future of First Energy. In that same story was a brief line from the reporter stating that the Indians/Progressive Field will soon come to the city with a plan for a major renovation of Progressive Field. That was the first I heard of this plan. If that is the case I hope it involves a complete refresh of the exterior which looks every bit of being designed in the 90's.
  9. I couldn't figure out if you had attached a photo or not because I'm not seeing it. But anyways here it is...
  10. Although he is not talking about nuCLEus in this blog from Ezra Stark, you know he is talking about nuCLEus... https://www.starkenterprises.com/a-bird-in-the-hand/

    New crib cam
  12. That's fine, and I'm all about living within your principles. But then you're just going to have to match the offer, no way around it. I guarantee other cities regionally would not turn this deal down.
  13. This is about the mayor wanting to remind everybody who's really in charge. Does not send a good message to outside Developers. What happens if Sherwin-Williams or anyone else tries to finance through OAQDA ?
  14. I have this bad feeling it's going to be like what happened with the North Coast Harbor Bridge. And it's going to look exactly like it, just bigger

  16. From the kyc webcam...
  17. Cool detailed shot of some of the panels at RMF. Also most of the side walk is in along Huron.
  18. I was projecting the building to be about 22 stories with the Hotel starting at about the 5th floor and the first five levels for lobby/common area, meeting rooms and a couple of shared floors with the Global Center. Because of the site the floor plates would be on the small side maybe 12k. The building would be about 275k sq ft and cost around 75mil. And yes Hilton would be the obvious choice.
  19. This is an idea I put together regarding Convention Center expansion but It also involves the proposed land bridge, so here you go...
  20. So this is something I put together last year regarding Convention Center expansion and a possible new hotel site. Thought I would share...
  21. HaHa you gotta know Stark is on his way to Home Depot/Menard's as we speak. He is in line at the service desk with new renderings in hand looking for tax breaks on bulk Timber...
  22. Jeff Jacobs said this about a proposed hotel at Nautica back in '16... "Jacobs acknowledged the risk of proposing a hotel at a time when the downtown hotel market is almost doubling in size, with additions of the 600-room Hilton Cleveland Downtown Convention Center Hotel and the new Kimpton and Drury hotels. However, the Windows on the River at the Powerhouse complex hosts several weddings a week, and Nautica constantly fields requests about where bridal parties and guests may stay nearby. “It’s risky, but it’s an important component to complete the mosaic of a waterfront district,” Jacobs said of the hotel. “The benefit of the hotel might not show in its books but would show up in other results in the development.”
