Cleveland / Northeast Ohio: "What If/Hypothetical/Dream" Construction and Projects Discussion
I have always believed that great spaces should be public places. And for over 90 years the lake front has been a place that we have gone to celebrate together, to me it should remain that way. The last thing I want to happen is for that space to become filled with NRP type residences. A half dozen or so stick built overpriced apartment units for the select few. So if not a stadium then something just as significant. It should be a draw much like the Rock Hall and the Science Center. A great aquarium would be awesome one that is equal in size to the Shed or the one in Georgia. Or a Sphere type complex that is already planning a second location. Why not Cleveland? And if Burke is closed then how about a smaller version of CNN Tower or the Space Needle along with an entertainment complex, maybe 4-500 ft tall. And the spaces closest to the water should be a Great Park with access to the water with boat docks, year round recreation, Solstice type steps. This is a special space lets not screw this up with a bunch of 5/2 apartments and retail that will close after a year.

Cleveland: Downtown: Tower City / Riverview Development
Love the freighter vibe. I would take it a bit further by adding a smokestack/observation tower. Lit up at night you would see it from most angles of the city. A new landmark.

Cleveland.com opinion/editorial piece proposing a 1/4 % regional sales tax over 30 years that would fund the new airport, a new domed stadium, lakefront development and more. The article is paywalled so if someonr can access it give us a summary. https://www.cleveland.com/news/2024/07/a-bold-idea-for-saving-clevelands-sports-teams-and-building-a-gleaming-new-airport.html- Cleveland: Downtown: Skyline 776 (City Club Apartments)
The sidewalk needs to open up already. Its been too long for a project this size. The city needs to let them know its not acceptable. Especially when it encroaches onto the street.- Cleveland: TV / Film Industry News
- Cleveland Guardians Discussion
I grabbed this logo from a Guardians post game show, so I am not sure if it belongs to them or one of their broadcast partners. I have never seen it before. It really is a great logo, it is about 100 times better than that baseball with the wings logo they currently use. I just did some mock-ups to see what it would look like on a uni. Would love to see this used on the field.- Cleveland: Slavic Village: Development and News

^^Agreed . This fallacy that CBS was built quickly and cheaply is not based in facts. I looked at NFL stadiums built within that time frame and they were all built within 24 to 28 months, same as CBS. I dont think the Osborne company would have been a part of anything sub-standard. Do I want a new fixed roof stadium, of course and I would prefer it is built in the city. This narrative that in a city of 75 square miles there is no other place to build it is comical. You dont need 150 acres to build it either. The Vikings stadium was built on 38 acres and is a great example of how this could work. I would be ok with a renovation if it would include a roof. The technology has changed, roofs are lighter weight now SoFi has proven that. And the weather is changing its not 1983 anymore the lake barley freezes over now. Chicago pier, Boston harbor, Toronto all are colder and just as windy.- Cleveland: Ohio City: Bridgeworks Development
I think if they flip this thing around it would look better. The back side is more interesting, thats the side that should face the bridge. And lose the Teal this isn't Miami.- The Official *I Love Cleveland* Thread
