  1. ^^Same here. I was switching around the different channels and Faux News had the best location and pictures. It looked like at one point they were pointing out the different buildings on the lakefront which was nice. I had no idea what they were saying as I only watch Faux News with the sound off.
  2. Michelle's follow-up article answers my questions including construction timeline of about 16 months. Stark hopes to keep most of the 524-space garage open during construction. The garage was designed with an interior cutout that can accommodate a crane. It's likely that Stark will be able to put construction equipment there, minimizing disruption on the surrounding streets. The top two floors of the garage could function as a staging area for materials. http://www.cleveland.com/business/index.ssf/2016/07/downtown_cleveland_apartment_h.html#incart_2box

Sasha Kaun to Philly prolly to make room for Birdman.
  4. ^ Yikes some real estate agent would see you coming a mile away, "And you say it's right on the water" Yes sir you are near the water... Anyway no mention of the restaurant he was rumoured to be working on. Think it was The Marble Steak House or something like that. It does mention a pizza place called Midici Pizza www.mymidici.com which if it is the same one is a chain out of CA looking to expand quickly.
  5. Looking at the webcam seems like the lights around the perimeter of the SSM have been replaced/repaired. The column doesn't appear to be lit though. Oh well, baby steps...
  6. Nice. Those floor plans are unlike.anything in town. The amenities are straight out of NYC. Free beer and coffee... wut the fug...
  7. I did a land-use plan for that site a decade ago, including a transit station in the basement. I'll see if I can find it. I remember someone posted a rendering of a proposed development for that corner (probably you) but I think it also included that small triangle piece of land. Yes any development there would be a no-brainer for a transit stop.
  8. The smokestack is an icon, hope it stays. Shocking coming from you. But you kind of have that 'Blade Runner' view of cities where fire and smoke is coming out of everything. Actually I can see a portion of it being used as part of a public waterfront area. As long as their isn't toxic fumes coming from it, something could be done.
  9. ^Well once my dream of Cleveland Thermal coming down is a reality, it will become clear the great possibilities for that area. CT which dumps thousands of tons of pollution into the air just a stone's throw from Public Square is just killing that space. I can't wait for that smokestack to drop.
  10. Man I am excited for E6th St. With this development and the Garfield across the street, also the Leader building and hopefully the eventual development of the Baker bldg. things are definitely looking good for the future of that artery. Also the 5/3 building has added more tenants and is undergoing some renovations.
  11. So this property is right across from Gateway and has always been on my radar. My hope is with the eventual takedown of Cleveland Thermal, scheduled for 2017 and of course the large property that Dan Gilbert controls I can see an eventual link of Gateway down to the river. I think the time is right for this property to move quickly and be developed.
  12. I think this is the same project Dalad announced about 3 years ago. Or have they added to it, it's hard to tell. It mentions the tax credit they rcvd in the past. Dalad Group plans $31.1 million apartment project in Warehouse District The real estate developer tells the Port Authority board it intends to rehabilitate and redevelop five buildings that have been vacant for more than 30 years in a block bounded by West Sixth Street, West Ninth Street, St. Clair Avenue and Johnson Court. http://www.crainscleveland.com/article/20160712/NEWS/160719947/dalad-group-plans-31-1-million-apartment-project-in-warehouse?X-IgnoreUserAgent=1
  13. I am wondering how construction would work. Would the garage and the other tenants have to close? Would the perimeter of the building need to be fenced off? Also construction time for a 28 story Tower from foundation up would usually be about 24 months+, wonder if construction time would be cut in half. hmmm...
  14. Could everyone stop with the doom and gloom predictions for the convention. It's really getting to be annoying. We get it already. You all sound like those cities kc/dallas/cbus that were not chosen and are basically wishing bad things will happen.
  15. Can Cleveland do a 'Pop Tax' like some city' s have. Or better yet it could be a county pop tax. Specifically for transit. Like the sin tax it would be for 10-15 years and bring in maybe 20mil + per year. That would be enough to replace all of the aging trains and the infrastructure involved. Replace all of these overhead wires with DMU or LRT technology. In my mind though RTA would not be the deciding factor as to how to spend the money. A separate panel of transit enthusiasts would be chosen to make the final call on what equipment to buy. My problem with RTA has always been it is not run by ppl who take the train into work, they drive in from places like Westlake and Strongsville. Being on the board for them is no different than being on the School Board. It's just looks good on the resume' .

Interesting. I always thought that Edgewater would be a great place for a Kalahari type resort. Either there or Nautica.
  17. Yes it's going to be close, must be doing training and hiring behind the scene. Here is one more from Twitter. Also new fancy parking meters at the pier lot.
  18. Just a couple of shots from Instagram. They claim a July opening, but with 3wks before the RNC that doesn't seem possible. Maybe limited service at best or it might be ready as an event space.
  19. How about a ' Living Wall ' on the Public Square side. I think the largest one is about 10k sq ft. That would take up a big chunk of that blank space.
  20. This is supposed to be a 3 phase project. Does anyone think they can fit a 500k SF building in the Phase 1 area? Reminder http://www.cleveland.com/business/index.ssf/2015/06/cleveland_lakefront_constructi.html [edit] I just noticed Phase 1 includes the area immediately west of the William G. Mather. Maybe that's enough space? Well this is like huge news if it comes to be. Looking at the site plan though where would 500k sq ft go when you consider height restrictioms due to BLK. Are we looking at a FEB type building but maybe capped out at about 14 floors? Aren't the height restrictions at 175 ft or so? I am not sure I like a building of that size there. It would have to be just west of the Mather as Surf points out. Does Pace control the space on top of the GLSC garage, maybe it could go there. This is definitely a surprise.
  21. OK thanks. The Nov start date seems to coincide with what smith[/member] reported in April. http://www.urbanohio.com/forum2/index.php/topic,29504.msg798347.html#msg798347 From that post it seems that they are prepared for a 2 year absorption rate, that certainly sounds doable. As for the retail they probably will be competing with Bedrock/Tower City. I believe the market is there for the residential, office component. The hotel operator is the same operator as for Crocker Park, I don't think we will see anything that upscale.

Lebron does not leave home without it. He is having dinner at AlleyCat when people started chanting MVP at him from a boat and he comes out with the trophy.
  23. ^Watch out someone's going to accuse you of being a 'fan boy' because you are not making it your daily mission to rip something that's not even finished yet. And although I really can't recall anything major happening on PS over the last 10 years, something might happen because this is a big city and as soon as it does the ' I told you so 's' will be right on cue...
