  1. This Ruby dude has quite the ego. He likes to be the big player in town. He probably started to realize there wasn't a lot of buzz about his restaurant. A lot of competition here. Ken Stewart found that out.
  2. OK how about some actual news. And here is what I found out. Information is scarce on this. I've searched domain registration, public filings, bid contracts...nothing. https://www.instagram.com/rebol_cle/
  3. Regarding the exposed HVAC unit. I just can't get worked up about this. Look down from any building downtown or any other city and you will see mechanicals on the roofs of buildings. It's a non-factor. Calling this bad design or as some genius up thread who pulled the "Only in Cleveland" card is ridiculous. If you actually walk by it instead of staring at it on the webcam it's not something you even think about. A better example than the one in Cincinnati is the Dynamite Burgers structure at Star Plaza. Even though it's screened from the sides you can clearly see the HVAC and pipes at the top of the building. And I doubt anyone staring down from the Wyndham Hotel and looking at the exposed pipes and HVAC unit on the top of the building ever gave it any thought. And I am pretty sure none of you have either.

  5. ^Great set of photos. Also PS will be closed off this wkd for what must be restriping? resurfacing? of the perimeter streets. Idk. Gonna be must see TV! DowntownCLE ‏@DowntownCLE Public Square is almost done, but there is a little more work to do! Streets around the Square will close late 5/6-8
  6. This pic from 1932 shows old municipal stadium but also a smaller venue. It looks like a playing field with stands but I can't tell if it was used for football or tennis maybe? Anyone ever seen other photos of that field. Never seen it before.
  7. Last few days.
  8. It seems there will be a change with the Lebron wall banner soon. Not sure if it will remain Cavs specific or maybe something in preparation for the RNC. Should be on the CPC next week. Of course I continue to hope for the day it won't be possible to use that space for a banner as a new building will be in it's place.
  9. Film company plants roots in Cleveland http://www.wkyc.com/entertainment/film-company-plants-roots-in-cleveland-1/129499840
  10. I don't know where else to put this but a study was once done to convert the top floors of the Erieview Tower into condos. At least they thought about it. http://www.eberhardarchitects.com/view_project?cat_id=6
  11. That is interesting regarding MM and 45 Erieview. But looking at the leasing brochure there is about 225k SF available. MM occupies about 380k SF at the Rose building. And the space at 45 is somewhat scattered with floors 4-8 empty at 34k SF per floor. The other space is on floors 1-3. So it seems kind of small for their needs unless that space could be used for back office stuff that is now done in the burbs. And with the acquisition of HealthSpan their needs might change. It will be interesting for sure.

  13. Per Crains, Quicken Loans will move 400 employees from the old post office building a property it doesn't own to the Higbees complex a property it does own. This leaves Forest City either scrambling for tenants or looking for a buyer. But I am sure they knew this was coming. http://www.crainscleveland.com/article/20160424/NEWS/160429901/quicken-loans-is-headed-to-higbee-building?X-IgnoreUserAgent=1
  14. Thought there was a 9/12 District thread? If there is I can't find it. Meanwhile... Something called Masthead Brewing Co. is in the works for the old Superior Title building at 1261 Superior. Storefront renovation, outdoor patio and landscaping. Recently Incorporated, don't know who is behind it.
  15. This was last year but kind of cool
  16. Gee I wonder where Scene heard about it? Hmm...
  17. WOW, well that's about 100 million. Can Brickhaus pull that off?

  19. Probably courtesy of the RNC being here. They were most likely developed right here at Nela Park. Would be nice to have them throughout the CBD. Read more about them. http://www.gelighting.com/LightingWeb/na/solutions/control-systems/lightgrid-outdoor-wireless-control-system.jsp http://pressroom.gelighting.com/news/san-diego-to-save-more-than-a-quarter-of-a-million-dollars-annually-with-ge-smart-lighting-technology#.VxKwxM4pDMI
  20. ^^Not sure but good question though. I doubt it's either one of those. Sherwin Williams has put its HQ project on hold. And I doubt Medical Mutual knows what it wants to do yet. But if it is one of them, it's Medical Mutual. They sound like they don't want to be in Rose Building anymore. If it's not one of those two, I don't know what it would be. What old, big building hasn't recently been targeted by developers to be converted to housing or renovated as offices? The old Ohio Bell building on Huron? The Caxton Building? Or could it be a conversion of a currently active building whose primary occupant has either outgrown it (Quicken Loans at MK?) or perhaps has poor performance (Hyatt at The Arcade?)? Racking my brain here.... Me too. The word 'big' is throwing me off and I thought about those that you reference. My other thoughts were possibly JHB, Samsel building, Erieview Tower which I know is doing their own thing. Could it be new build? But I doubt that considering the name that is referenced in the article specialises in restoration and historic tax credits. In fact she helped K&D secure the tax credits for 1717. Something's gonna break soon...
  21. I wonder if that confidential big project might be either the Rose building or Landmark Office Towers as those two properties could become available in the near future.
  22. Hmm the way the letters are positioned on the building I wonder if the 'H' symbol which usually ia above or to the left of the word is still to come. Hope so I don't like it by itself.
  23. What no love for CSU today? This is kind of a big deal and this announcement comes with its own trailer. https://www.csuohio.edu/news/ohio-legislative-leaders-and-csu-announce-new-school-film-television-and-interactive-media Remember the one WRL rolled out about ten years ago. Just build that one. Its still on their site.
  24. Looking like some work has started. @BrendaCuller
