    ^Nice...
  2. ^^Good to see the start of the Cumberland development. With decent weather that building should go up quick.

I am surprised the beach house hasn't started yet. Back in June they predicted a post Labor Day groundbreaking with a '16 summer completion. Money shouldn't have been the problem as it was coming from the 14 mil from the state sale. Hate to see all this good construction weather go the waste. Anybody hear anything?
  4. Idk its current listing shows nothing available on the ground floor. https://42floors.com/us/oh/cleveland/55-public-sq
  5. Well there are some things happening and about to be happening with some of the properties around the square. Just thinking about there is: * The Southworth building currently under renovation with new residences. * The May Co. building, with rumors of a retailer taking the ground floor/Also the hopeful conversion of the upper floors. * Key tower always has good traffic around its perimeter. * The Standard building currently being renovated into residences. * 75 Public Square despite missing out on the tax credit will eventually move fwd. Also last year the group behind Lockeepers announced a new restaurant for the ground floor. * Next door The John Q space had an operator but I haven't heard anything new on that. * The Weston development eventual build out. * The Renaissance sale and renovation * And Tower City usually has good foot traffic in and out. So I think things are looking up for more activity down the road. Also here is a view from another angle from @EMSincle
  6. WEWS went inside for an update.
  7. Michelle mjarboe[/member] gives a preview of the 200 Public Square atrium renovations due to start. (Photos). I like how RuthChris will have an patio/entrance from inside the atrium. http://www.cleveland.com/business/index.ssf/2015/12/200_public_square_atrium_renov.html#incart_river_home
  8. Fraport to Manage Retail Malls at Four U.S. Airports FRANKFURT, Germany, August 4, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Fraport Acquires U.S.-based Airmall Group That Oversees Retailing Space at Baltimore, Boston, Cleveland and Pittsburgh Airports Effective August 1, the Fraport Group has expanded its international portfolio in the global airport market by acquiring 100 percent of U.S.-based AMU Holdings Inc., which owns Airmall USA Holdings Inc. (Airmall). One of the leading airport-concessions developers in North America, Airmall markets space at the aviation hubs of Baltimore (BWI), Boston (BOS), Cleveland (CLE) and Pittsburgh (PIT). Together, these four hubs serve a total of about 70 million passengers per year. 9. Sounds like a great way to repurpose the Old Coast Guard station. Use the building as a museum/ event space. Have the Cod as the main attraction of a 100th group style restaurant/brewery. The group would have office space. The Metroparks could be involved in running the complex. Just an idea.
  10. So wait a minute these are condo's, for sale units? 60 units, that's kind of a big deal isn't it? I wonder if they have sold any pre-sale. And I really love these. Cleveland based firms like MAKER and Dimit are really doing great stuff here.
  11. I think we have lost our way at some point with the emergence of the 'lifestyle' center. Parma/Parma town is not trying to be something they are not, which is refreshing. The developer is not trying to add a Zara or a Uniqlo, that's not who they are. It is a destination for goods and services that people in the area need and use, that has not and will not change. The fact that the avg. income in the area doesn't chart at the top of some developers list won't keep it from being successful.
  12. ^Except it already is successful even mid-construction. Parmatown is in a very densely populated area, surrounded by neighborhoods. Many people walk there, they are not walking to Strongsville. I am in that area 3-4 times a week as my mom lives on one of the adjoining streets and I have watched that area transform, it is always busy. So there is every reason to believe it will be successful because it always has been. This project is every bit as important as what happens at Crocker/Eaton/Pinecrest. Even more so.
  13. Well you all can take your shots at parma/parmatown, but this isn't for you. Because it doesn't matter what form it takes, this is a 95 million dollar investment in an older community. It's vital that these inner ring city's remain sustainable. This investment is important to that community, it means something to them. Parmatown will remain a place where they go for goods and services that they need. These are the 'real' lifestyle centers.
  14. Man Stark is working triple overtime on his phony urban utopia. Makes me thankful for those doing the hard work in the city. Geis, Wolstein, MRN, K&D, Weston, Millennia, First Interstate and so on...sorry just feeling a wee bit skeptical of Stark right now...
  15. Little more info: Downtown/Flats Case # DF 2015-105 Address: East 9th Street Corridor Company: LAND Studio Architect: Mark Reigelman; Communication Exhibits Inc. Description: Speaker boxes will placed within the Public ROW. The boxes will be dedicated to a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Inductee, and music of that artists will project out.
  16. So wkyc did a 'live' interview with Avi Greenbaum from Hudson Holdings Sat. morning from the 925 lobby. He indicated that the lobby will be very active as an event space thru next summer and that construction will start in October. He described the project as a 300 room hotel with residences and office space. What's interesting is that he offered the October start date without knowing the outcome of the tax credits. He said construction would take 2 years for the whole project. So is this an indication that it will move fwd with or without the credits?

A question answered from inner belt's Facebook page David October 23 at 4:42pm Is there a reason the eastbound bridge is taller than the westbound? Hi David: About the height, it’s kind of an optical illusion… The new eastbound bridge is only about 3 feet higher, but since the bridges are “super-elevated” (like a race track where one side is higher than the other) it looks like a lot more! The extra 3 feet is to allow the inbound drivers the view of downtown rather than the bridge next door. We are still in process of placing and testing the LED lights.

  20. Silicon Valley-based BrightEdge has big plans for its Cleveland office http://www.crainscleveland.com/article/20151113/NEWS/151119880/silicon-valley-based-brightedge-has-big-plans-for-its-cleveland-office Why Cleveland? The company likes the local talent pool and its inexpensive downtown real estate, especially compared with San Mateo. It wouldn’t make sense to add a lot of sales people there, Mattick said.

  22. This would have made a great 'Onion' headline: Magazine names Joe Calabrese a Public Official of the Year http://www.crainscleveland.com/article/20151110/NEWS/151119978/magazine-names-joe-calabrese-a-public-official-of-the-year
  23. ^That WEWS link is the same 'puff piece' that was posted a couple of days ago. I don't know how much we can learn from it. Also I don't believe that 515 tower rendering that has been floating around for about 10 years ever went to design review.
  24. So this is the first indication that I've seen that verify's the Jeff Ruby restaurant is going into the Garfield. http://planning.city.cleveland.oh.us/designreview/brd/detailDR.php?ID=1986&CASE=DF%202015-102
