Cleveland: Random Photos
^Its cool to see the Innerbelt lit up in this photo. Very noticeable. Also I wish the Erieview group of buildings along E9th could work on some lighting. It would make a huge difference.

Cleveland: Hotels, Conventions, and Tourism News & Info
Skyline completes Renaissance Hotel purchase with mystery partner As Toronto-based Skyline International Development Inc. (TASE: SKLN) announced completing its anticipated purchase of the landmark Renaissance Cleveland Hotel in downtown Cleveland, it answered one big question but raised a new one. Skyline said in a Thursday, Oct. 29 news release that downtown's largest hotel — until the new Hilton Cleveland Convention Center Hotel comes on line next year — will retain its priceless Marriott Renaissance franchise agreement. The hotel’s status in the international Renaissance brand associated with convention operations and the much-vaunted Marriott system of standards had not been previously addressed by the Toronto-based hotel owner and developer or the seller, CTF Development Inc., an affiliate of the Taiwan-based Cheng family. The family owns a global hotel empire. The new question Skyline raised is that it has an equity partner in the purchase it did not identify in its news release. That partner fronted $14.5 million of the landmark hotel’s $20.5 million purchase price, Skyline said, and Skyline invested $6 million in the property. http://www.crainscleveland.com/article/20151030/NEWS/151039988/skyline-completes-renaissance-hotel-purchase-with-mystery-partner?X-IgnoreUserAgent=1

Cleveland Browns Discussion
Coaches owe the team an apology. This one is on them. Leaving 4 points on the field by passing up the early FG and not kicking the extra point, trying to outsmart everybody. Defense played their asses off, offense played well enough to win. Like my father use to say 'Stupid Browns'!

Downtown Cleveland lakefront development could see city funding for infrastructure, parks. http://www.cleveland.com/business/index.ssf/2015/10/downtown_cleveland_lakefront_d_1.html#incart_river_home Great work by mjarboe[/member] for clearing up questions I had regarding 'site b'. I was wondering what happened with that component of Phase 1. Pace hopes to break ground on that 4 story building late in the year. Also that Cleveland Pickle and Cleveland Bike Tours are possible tenants, along with Pace who plans to move his office there. Thnx Michelle!

Cleveland: Downtown: Standard Building
If you read the history of that space on the Old Stone website it doesn't sound like that property was ever in jeopardy of leaving the churches hands. http://www.oldstonechurch.org/the-arts/history-architecture Especially when the Standard Bank pretty much dissolved into two other banks not long after the building was constructed. And I can't find any evidence of a 'Phase 2' anywhere.

Cleveland: Downtown Office Buildings Updates
..But Mulloy, a graduate of St. Ignatius High School in Cleveland, has even bigger ambitions, according to his bio on the company website: “Jack plans to one day build a 60-story BuyerQuest Tower in downtown Cleveland.” Man that is our kind of guy. It's refreshing that a CEO sees his hometown in that way. We are not use to that kind of loyalty. What we usually get from CEO's at companies like Eaton and American Greetings is " one day I hope to build a large, sprawling, space sucking, carbon wasting complex in the diversity free suburbs, yes that's my dream"

Cleveland: Downtown Office Buildings Updates
http://www.crainscleveland.com/article/20151011/NEWS/310119990/reserve-square-renovation-is-kds-latest-large-project?X-IgnoreUserAgent=1 Reserve Square renovation is K&D's latest large project. October 11, 2015 by Stan Bullard Apartment owner and manager K&D Group of Willoughby usually is thought of as a firm that reduces the amount of office space in downtown Cleveland as it tackles residential redevelopment of old office buildings. However, K&D Group's growth has made it into a substantial office landlord in the city center, and it's expanding its business to show that. After buying the Keith, Leader and Halle buildings over the past year, K&D has a portfolio of about 1 million square feet of downtown office space that it intends to keep as offices. The company plans to convert Leader, 526 Superior Ave., and Halle, 1228 Euclid Ave., to mixed-use projects with upper-floor apartments, low-level offices and continued first-floor retail space. It intends to retain as an office property the Keith, 1621 Euclid Ave., which K&D bought as a potential home for office tenants needing to be relocated from its buildings. Asked if he ever thought K&D would own this much office space, Price said, “Not on your life.”

Cleveland: Downtown: Standard Building
^Yes that would have been nice. Or if the whole building could have been rotated 90° so the entrance would have been on Ontario. But it was not uncommon for buildings of that era to have a blank wall. From what I recall when Weston bought the Standard it was mentioned that the buildings elevators are along the back wall so punching in windows was not feasible. Even if the historic tax credits allowed it. Our only hope is maybe the OldStone Parish building which is the structure just South of the Standard can be replaced one day with something taller. But that property has been in the churches hands for a long long time.
