The NBA today named Minnesota Timberwolves forward Andrew Wiggins as its Kia NBA Western Conference Rookie of the Month for December. This is the second consecutive month Wiggins has earned the honor, becoming the first Timberwolves player to win the award multiple times in the same season. Wiggins led all Western Conference rookies in scoring (14.6 ppg) and minutes played (33.9) during December, while ranking 2nd in blocks (0.6 bpg), 3rd in rebounding (4.1 rpg) and 4th in steals (0.87 spg). He tallied 20+ points five times during the month, and was the Wolves top scorer on four occasions. Wiggins finished the month averaging 20.0 points on 50.8% shooting during the team's month-closing four-game road trip. NBA.com

Going to be pissed if we trade Dion. Dion, Armundson and Kirk pulled from lineup tonite. Rumors are a trade to OKC involving multiple Thunder players, probably Kendrick Perkins. Knick's may also be involved. Love Dion... Edit:Trade happening right now. JR Smith coming to Cavs maybe along with Iman Shumpert...go to HoopsHype.com

  4. http://www.cleveland.com/metro/index.ssf/2015/01/northeast_ohio_transportation.html Looks like a February start for the pedestrian bridge. Construction of the $25 million pedestrian bridge that will arch across the railroad tracks near Lake Erie and connect the Shoreway to North Coast Harbor will get a wintry start. Crews will be out in February, with the bridge to be ready by April 2016.

Looking ahead to 2015 Regional Interstate Impacts: The biggest impact will be to I-71 outbound motorists as crews replace the I-71 north and south bridge decks over I-490. The current three lanes of I-71 southbound will be reduced to two lanes for a period of no more than 200 days. There is currently one lane northbound and this will remain the same. Traffic will also be shifted throughout the project as crews work on one side and then the other. Downtown Impacts: Downtown motorists will experience lane closures and nighttime complete closures under I-90 as crews work on Ontario and East 9th Streets to build new overpasses. In addition, Ontario/Orange (between Carnegie and E 14th, south of the Innerbelt) will be reduced to two lanes in each direction for a period of about four months as crews works to rebuild the roadway in that area. This will impact I-77 motorists who use Orange Avenue/Ontario Street. Tremont Impacts: In Tremont, motorists should expect short-term closures of Starkweather, Kenilworth, Abbey and Fairfield as crews construct steel girders for the new overpasses overhead. Main Viaduct (GVV Bridge): Crews will continue with construction of piers throughout the Cuyahoga River Valley. Pile driving work is expected to be complete during the spring of 2015 and underground pier foundations should be complete by fall 2015. Steel erection is expected to begin on completed piers during the spring of 2015 and continue through the spring of 2016.

  8. Uptown has received an 2014 TOD Best Practices score from The Institute for Transportation and Development Policy. Now, I just learned about them 5 minutes ago and from what I can tell they are a lobbying group for BRT. But it puts Uptown on the map regarding TOD. https://www.itdp.org/library/standards-and-guides/transit-oriented-development-are-you-on-the-map/best-practices/

Unless we can get a really great piece w/o giving up anyone on the roster(namely Dion), I stand pat right now. Tristan is used to playing a lot of minutes the last couple of years. I would look to bring in Marcus Camby who I think is available for 12 - 15 minutes. He has got quality minutes left in him, made a real contribution with GS in the '13 playoffs.
  11. Wow, that looks very high end. Really doing that space justice. I am more confident now.

krellcodaDec. 23, 14 I don't blame K Love for leaving MN. Cleveland is a lot warmer and crime rates are a lot lower than Minneapolis. From reading some of the comments in the Minneapolis Tribune about the Cavs/Wolves game tonite. How funny. So this is how someone in Minny views us. That's hilarious. There are negative people in ever city. Its just funny because we are not used to that type of perception coming our way.
  13. The signs are up for the downtown #cle @Heinens It's getting real. I think they indicated a spring opening? Why am I getting nervous about this location. I want it to work sooo baddd. I just hope they are in it for the long haul. If things are slow in the first 6 months, I hope no one panics. This urban thing is new for Heinens I just hope they have the right people in place to make it work. We have talked about the need for this to be more than a grocery store but a community space. Something needs to be happening every night with cooking classes, wine tastings, meet-ups, special events with celebrity chefs and book signings etc...This store is a game changer, I need to stop worrying...

  18. Clevelander17[/member] is referring to this. http://www.craigrealtygroup.com/App_Assets/CMSDocs/LeasingBrochures/LeasingBrochure-cleveland.pdf Also I'm glad for Brooklyn if it comes. Better than Beachwood or Westlake who must be in panic mode that it's not them.
  19. I know this is all corporate stuff 'beyond our control'. But how about a B Spot and a Constantino's as a welcome to Cleveland instead of the oh so original BK and Circle K...at least BP kind of used to be ours.
  20. Well keep in mind that Carney and company had already secured tax credits for both the May Co. project and the George Worthington conversion back in 2013. At the time they indicated that those credits would enable them to move forward. I think they got greedy. I wonder if the May Co. would be considered for the 'media center' for the RNC. There is going to be money available for that. The size and location work.

Ouch, Jabari Parker out for the year. http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/12040203/milwaukee-bucks-suspect-jabari-parker-lost-season-torn-acl So Hts121[/member] looks like you are off the hook for your inevitable defeat...lol. Actually that's a tough break for Parker I wanted to see him and Wiggins battle for ROY. Seeing that they both earned rookie of the month in November we can call it a tie. The numbers were very similar across the board with Parker being the better shooter. Although they both scored almost the same amount of pts. in similar minutes played and attempts. We will have to watch them go head to head next year, hopefully Parker can recover fully.
  22. It could be this which is his vault at Lakeview Cemetery, a vault he designed. Schofield died in 1917 the building went up in '01, maybe the plaque went up after he died. Idk just a guess.
