  1. Why? Because everybody loves them some streetcars...where you been?
  2. Hopefully a westside transportation center is in the future. The eastside center works great. Just build something like that and take a lot of the bus traffic away from PS. Because that's really the issue here, bus traffic. If it were streetcars we were talking about this probably wouldn't be an issue.
  3. Although not a part of the renovations the city announced yesterday it will be closing the pedestrian bridge that leads from the mall to the stadium indefinitely. Whatever that means. They want to funnel everyone up W3rd. Does this mean they are very confident they will find the funds to complete the proposed 'new' bridge? If it's not going to be used I hope it is demolished soon. It's definitely nothing to look at. http://www.cleveland.com/cityhall/index.ssf/2014/08/new_cleveland_browns_tailgatin.html
  4. Yeesh...bring on Grossman, and somebody who can catch the GD ball...

According to ESPN and other sources Shawn Marion has committed to joining the Cavs. Will play for minimum for a chance to win.
  6. American Greetings had no interest in being downtown. And Lebron's not coming back, and the RNC is going to Dallas, and we will never add hundreds of new residences/hotels etc. This is New Cleveland...all things are possible...
  7. Too bad Stark couldn't have had American Greetings as a part of this development instead of luring them to Westlake.
  8. ^The Philadelphia region is 6 mil strong. It's part of the Northeast megalopolis. It's the fourth largest media market and 100 miles from NYC. The comparison is not valid.
  9. ^ Nice. Tweet that to Mark Shapiro, ASAP! IMO it just seems very dated too me. I would like to see more video boards as opposed to all the static ads. They overwhelm the video portion of it. And its just huge and blocks the view of the city. I think that space could be more wisely used with an updated design. And the back of it, which is like this big blank badly painted billboard. At least paint the Indians logo on it if anything.
  10. I thought you were the God of Retail & Excess? Or have I been praying to the wrong Deity?
  11. I like the idea of the new Gate C entrance. That will look cool as you come down E9th. As far as the upper stands goes it's OK, but there is way too much blue. It looks odd when everything else is green. And hopefully as others have mentioned an updated/smaller scoreboard is needed. That thing is straight out of the 90's.
  12. A great spot for a 24/7 diner would be the Garfield bldg. right on the corner at E6th/Euclid. The developer mentioned a possible restaurant there when they add residential. Would be a great visible location.
  13. Man Stark loves doing the massing thing. I hope the height is true.
  14. I'm sure it's not part of the plan, but I would like to see the scoreboard moved to open up a better view of the city. You can see in MayDay's excellent photo that by removing the scoreboard and shifting it over to right field how that would open up a great view of the skyline, especially at night.
  15. CLEVELAND -- The Indians will hold an 11 a.m. ET news conference Thursday to announce major enhancements to Progressive Field The news conference will be streamed live on Indians.com. Detailed information about the improvements was not immediately divulged, but the Indians did confirm that the changes will all be privately financed. This is important to note, in light of Cuyahoga County voters passing a 20-year extension of the "sin tax" on alcohol and cigarettes that is expected to generate at least $260 million for Progressive Field, the Browns' FirstEnergy Stadium and the Cavaliers' Quicken Loans Arena. Progressive Field (formerly Jacobs Field) opened in 1994 and has received several modifications in recent years, including the conversion of several suites into the Collection Auto Group Club and the Kids Clubhouse. But the coordination of an in-season news conference of this nature hints at a project of a much larger scope. http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article/cle/cleveland-indians-to-announce-major-progressive-field-upgrades?ymd=20140806&content_id=88260718&vkey=news_cle

Out of the kindness of my heart, I'm going to give you another chance to reconsider. Here is something to take into account - http://probasketballtalk.nbcsports.com/2014/08/06/nbas-rookies-surveyed-project-jabari-parker-to-win-rookie-of-the-year/ How bout we play some games first... In the interest of full disclosure, as of now I'm leaning towards requiring a .gif of you doing the 'truffle shuffle' with the UO logo drawn onto your belly with a sharpie. So I'm confused, I thought it was supposed to be something I wouldn't want to do

Nobody would ever confuse Parker for DWilliams. Totally different players. One is an athletic freak with questionable basketball skills, the other has a highly refined basketball skillset with questionable athletic ability (for a star NBA prospect). But, regardless, I'll take that bet in a heartbeat. You win and you get to pick my signature line on this site for a week (the one at the bottom). I win and vice-versa. A couple of contingencies, in the interest of fairness, should be that they play within 80% of each other in the number of games to account for injury and the possibility that Wiggins remains a Cav and gets buried on the bench with DNP-CD's. Agreed? (Disclaimer: I still don't think it is a fair bet). Done. Given equal opportunities Wiggy will prove to be the more complete talent and receive more votes. Oh here is your Sig line 'I know nothing about basketball' ...I feel bad, you can back out now if you want, it's OK...
  19. A couple of links to a new company called Creative Urban Projects who describe themselves as a 'planning shop for people who love cities' . They take a hard look at Cable-Propelled Transit and it's place in future urban planning. Interesting. http://creativeurbanprojects.com/ http://gondolaproject.com/contact-us/

ROY? I doubt it. I'll bet he gets more votes than Derrick Williams err... Jabari Parker...

TWolves owner indicates Love trade will probably happen by 8/24. Which would be the 30day mark since the signing of Wiggins. If the trade does not involve him then what would the delay be? So he's most likely gone. No denying Love is a difference maker, but losing Wiggins is a high price. Prediction: Wiggins will be NBA rookie of the yr, and on the 1st or 2nd all defensive team. And Bennett, if he is physically and emotionally ready will earn a starting position by mid-season.
  22. On a morning show a couple of days ago Steve Schimoler (Crop) said he will have a 'game changing announcement' (his words) in a couple of weeks. Said he wasn't referring to Uptown or FEB. So whatever game changing means in the restaurant biz idk...
  23. how do we not get any pitching back with any of these trades?
  24. Looking at the rendering the setback appears greater than it actually is. Once you put in the tree lawn and the sidewalk it's not as far back as I thought. http://www.csuohio.edu/webcam/cihp.html

Wiggins is not ready to play the 2. His handles in summer league were awful...... like, Alonzo Gee Jabari Parker awful. He was not terribly productive - 15 pts and 40% shooting against D-League level talent. Fixed that for you! Your boy Jabari had similar SL numbers, and averaged 5 TO's pg against D-league talent, and didn't have to deal with all of the trade rumors. Wiggins 4 GP, 30.0 MPG, 15.5 PPG, 3.5 RPG, 0.3 APG, 2.8 TO, 40.5 FG% Parker 5 GP, 28.6 MPG, 15.6 PPG, 8.2 RPG, 1.4 APG, 5.0 TO, 41.9 FG%
