  1. While I am glad to see that there is movement on painting the E 55th Street Bridge, I am not real excited about the approved design by Twist Creative. You have to be a big fan of pastel colors to really like it. And Twist Creative must love pastel colors because it's all over their work and their website. I think it's weak and not appropriate for this project. I hope it looks better live and in person.
  2. From Michelle's article: One would-be renter already asked about leasing the entire 28th floor, roughly 11,000 square feet. That must be MTS..am I right..lol Also this render of the proposed deli was posted before but lost during the crash.
  3. Here we go....even though UO broke the story... Ameritrust redo will include a Marriott Autograph Collection hotel and 205 apartments. By Michelle Jarboe McFee, The Plain Dealer Email the author | Follow on Twitter on October 04, 2013 at 10:30 AM, updated October 04, 2013 at 10:32 AM CLEVELAND, Ohio -- The buyer of the former Ameritrust complex has inked a deal with Marriott to bring an Autograph Collection hotel to East Ninth Street, as part of a project that includes 205 apartments, a grocery store, a Euclid Avenue rooftop bar and an indoor dog park. Developer Greg Geis hopes to wrap up financing deals in November and push for an opening just a year later. That's an aggressive schedule for an undertaking that involves three historic buildings and carries, if you include the new Cuyahoga County headquarters at East Ninth and Prospect Avenue, a $250 million price tag. http://www.cleveland.com/business/index.ssf/2013/10/ameritrust_redo_will_include_a.html#incart_river#incart_m-rpt-2
  4. Hoyer injury could be bad, could be ACL. Wtf. Also love the brown uni's.
  5. Ah well, good season. Browns on deck.
  6. Man that corner is going to be crazy in a couple of years. 3 hotels almost 500 rooms, 300+ apartments, Heinens, the County building, new restaurants, other retail. Hope it all works out w/o anymore delays.
  7. ^Lest anyone think that Cleveland has a monopoly on stupid comments. Below are the comments in 'hip and cool' Portland about the Target opening downtown. There are idiots everywhere Scurvy 10:16 AM Jul 24+15 Hope they have lots of "loss-prevention" staff... mark 10:09 AM Jul 24+11 Oh it will be a "Target" for the street punks downtown.
  8. ding..ding..ding Yes I remember reading about the City Targets last year. That was my thought for the Rotunda, although I am very happy about Heinens. Btw I wonder if the sale of the May company building from the previous owners negate the plans for a nightclub that was proposed by the same group that is looking to take over John Q's?
  9. Lake Erie wind turbines viable, say engineering firms with North Sea experience By John Funk, The Plain Dealer on September 23, 2013 at 7:05 AM, updated September 23, 2013 at 7:51 AM http://www.cleveland.com/business/index.ssf/2013/09/lake_erie_wind_turbines_viable.html
  10. @skylift Great I am glad you are concentrating on that first leg. That was my initial thought for you to have a chance at succeeding. Have you had any conversations with the county or the CooperCarry design team? I can just see a docking station on somewhere like the 10th floor as cars roll into an area bringing in people from the lakefront or sending people down. I wonder if there is any monies available from the hotel budget. I believe you can sell them on the idea and start a conversation. Good luck guys.
  11. Cuyahoga County begins temporary relocation of offices to make way for demolition By Andrew J. Tobias, Northeast Ohio Media Group September 22, 2013 at 2:00 PM, updated September 22, 2013 at 6:02 PM CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Cuyahoga County has begun vacating the county administrative building, the first step of a process that will eventually end in 2014 with a new county headquarters at the former Ameritrust complex. The move will happen in two main stages. In phases between now and October, county operations located in the current county headquarters at Ontario Street and Lakeside Avenue are scattering to seven other county-owned buildings. Once they're out -- which is scheduled to happen by the end of next month -- demolition will begin on the county headquarters to make way for the publicly-financed construction of a new $260 million, 600-plus room hotel that will connect to the Cuyahoga County Convention Center and Global Center for Health Innovation, formerly known as the medical mart. http://www.cleveland.com/cuyahoga-county/index.ssf/2013/09/cuyahoga_county_begins_temporary_relocation_of_offices_to_make_way_for_demolition.html#incart_m-rpt-2
  12. ^Thats a good call on that. The prospects of MCMC being chosen to manage the MM/CC make me a little leary as they were unable to secure leases when they were competing with us. Here's a little back story on that. http://www.tsnn.com/news-blogs/nashville-medical-trade-center-plans-scrapped
  13. EVERYTHING you ever wanted to know about the OC is in this just released 121 page PDF. http://www.dot.state.oh.us/projects/ClevelandUrbanCoreProjects/OpportunityCorridor/Documents/Cleveland%20Opportunity%20Corridor%20Project%20DEIS.pdf Also Make Opportunity Corridor a sustainable neighborhood Marc Lefkowitz | 09/16/13 @ 1:00pm | Posted in Vibrant cities, Transportation choices http://www.gcbl.org/blog/2013/09/make-opportunity-corridor-a-sustainable-neighborhood
  14. Browns should have asked for Donald Brown back along with the first pick.
  15. ^Off subject but speaking of the CityClub building, can it ever be this again? Any rumors about this property?
  16. MTS is sooo jealous of this, he's moving to ParmatownTowers. http://www.cleveland.com/parma/index.ssf/2013/09/parma_city_council_clears_way.html#incart_river A rendering of The Shoppes at Parma, the $70 million redevelopment of Parmatown Mall started in July.
  17. Yup Steve Schimoler to Open Two New Restaurants in Flats East Bank Posted by Douglas Trattner on Tue, Sep 17, 2013 at 3:18 PM When the second phase of the Flats East Bank development debuts in Spring 2015, Steve Schimoler will have a large presence there. The chef and owner of Crop Bistro in Ohio City will open two new restaurants in the Flats: Crop Kitchen & Vine and Cropicana. http://www.clevescene.com/scene-and-heard/archives/2013/09/17/steve-schimoler-to-open-two-new-restaurants-in-flats-east-bank
  18. ^Great I used to love ChiChi's ...oh wait
  19. From the article: Michael Tricarichi, owner of East Bank South Limited, said he used to get a call every two months about his six buildings on Old River, but now he gets at least a call a week. He said is fielding most of the calls, including one from a national restaurant chain he refused to identify, about his properties that are closest to Main Avenue and the Flats East Bank project. I was looking for this guys name last week as I remember before the recession he had acquired a number of properties. From what I can tell now he lives in Vegas and just seems to want to recoup some of his investment. Hopefully this is a good sign something will happen soon. And not good to hear Ferchill owns property there. This guy is everywhere. I'm not sure why this guy turned his back on Cleveland but looks like he has no interest in us anymore. Hope he divests himself of his properties without a lot of problems. Over the next year I see good things breaking in this area. Hopefully soon.
  20. Greg Little=Quincy Morgan without the entertaining sound bytes.

News Release Cleveland’s New I-90 Innerbelt Bridge: Apparent Winning Team for Historic Bridge Construction Revealed New Eastbound Innerbelt Bridge Project Team Announced COLUMBUS (Friday, September 13, 2013) – Shortly after 10 a.m. today, the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) announced that Trumbull Corporation, The Great Lakes Construction Company, & The Ruhlin Company (TGR) along with designer URS Corporation are the apparent winning team who will perform the demolition of the existing 1959 Innerbelt Bridge and construct a new eastbound structure in its place. The total bid amount for the project came in at $272,986,001. ODOT is in the midst of replacing the 1950s era bridge with two, new bridges. The first will carry westbound traffic and the second will carry eastbound traffic. The westbound structure is under construction now and expected to be open to traffic this fall. Engineers and experts from ODOT and the city of Cleveland teamed on a thorough process of evaluating three technical proposals for constructing the new eastbound bridge. In order to complete construction on this project faster, ODOT is using a unique design-build process in which the design and construction of the project are combined in a single contract. Three teams were chosen in February to compete for this historic project. Technical elements – such as schedule, quality management, construction plans, community outreach and sustainability – were evaluated by experts from both ODOT and the city of Cleveland. Today, ODOT officials in Columbus revealed the sealed price proposals from each team – and combined the scores of the technical and price proposals to determine an apparent winning team. In conjunction with the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), ODOT has up to ten days to review the “best value” proposal before awarding the contract. Demolition of the existing, 1959 Innerbelt Bridge is expected to begin this fall, immediately after completion of the new westbound bridge. The new westbound bridge will temporarily carry traffic in both directions until completion of the new eastbound structure, in the fall of 2016. For more information contact: ODOT Innerbelt Communications Office at (216) 584-4030 or email [email protected]
  22. And much thanks goes to our very own ForestCityEnterprises with www.stapletondenver.com and their tireless effort in the Denver area....oh by the way they want nothing to do with us.
  23. For the most part, I don't have a problem with what you are saying. I would love to see the church become part of the development and be that place where those who deal with life and death everyday can relax and take solice. But until those property owners who practice 'demolition by neglect' are held to higher standards the problem will persist. Developers such as the Clinic or someone like Gilbert with the Stanley are expected to foot the bill and erase 30 years of neglect.
  24. Incredible commitment from Heinens and Geis. Also http://www.processcreative.com/ will do the store build out.
