"Lol, I'm guessing there aren't many forumers who interpreted it that way. Anyway, the trash was cleaned up." OK. Understood. I did not mean to make that photo the focal point of your post. But trash and lazy people make me crazy. I saw that and I'm thinking 'Damn we just can't have nice things'.

Cleveland: Lakefront Development and News
Not sure what it means but WKYC is reporting that Jimmy Haslam will meet with Cleveland city council on Wednesday. It is described as a meet and greet. Just guessing but I am sure CBS will be discussed. Haslam has said he would like to create a better fan experience at the stadium. That might include being involved with lakefront development.

I am a huge fan of the Highline and I am blown away by this effort. I wonder if there could be a Metroparks tie in somehow.

Cleveland: Steelyard Commons
I know this has been rumored, but this might be the first announcement we have seen. New lease at Steelyard could spur second phase Burlington would anchor 200K-square-foot center 4:30 am, August 13, 2012 By STAN BULLARD Steelyard Commons, the big shopping center near downtown Cleveland, appears on the verge of its first major expansion since it opened in 2007 on the site of a former LTV steel mill. First Interstate Properties Inc. of Lyndhurst, the developer of Steelyard Commons, has leased land to Burlington Coat Factory, a national off-price department store chain, for a 77,000-square-foot store to be built north of the Walmart Super Center. The lease is a breakthrough for First Interstate as it looks to launch a long-planned second phase of Steelyard Commons, which brought a contemporary, big-box retail center within the city limits. “We're working on launching phase two,” Mitchell Schneider, CEO of First Interstate, said in an interview last Friday, Aug. 10, as he confirmed Burlington's commitment to Steelyard, which sits at the central location of Jennings Road and Inter-state 71. http://www.crainscleveland.com/article/20120813/SUB1/308139973 (you will have to search the title)

Cleveland: Innerbelt News
Here is a graphic of Ontario and Carnegie I don't see posted yet. Also the link below is from an ODOT workshop during the early stages of the Innerbelt. I always find it interesting to read the behind the scenes thought process when a project is in the planning stages. Yeah I know it's probably not for everybody. http://www.fhwa.dot.gov/construction/accelerated/wsoh0602.cfm

Cleveland: University Circle (General): Development and News
I hope the bridge goes forward as proposed. This is the Arts and Culture district of our city. You build it because you 'can'. You build it to make a statement. Cost and function should not be part of the thought process. Much like a piece of art it's there to be enjoyed, to be remembered.

Cleveland: Innerbelt News
This PDF from ODOT really clears up a lot of questions as to how the landscape will be configured south of the new bridges. It will really clean up that whole area, a lot less cluttered and much more presentable. Yeah for ODOT...lol http://www.dot.state.oh.us/districts/D12/Deputy%20Director/News/Documents/7.10.12%20Public%20Meeting%20Presentation.pdf Also this: Funding the Second Innerbelt Bridge Earlier this year, ODOT announced a $1.6 billion shortfall that affects major transportation projects in communities throughout Ohio. However, due to improved efficiency, workforce and vehicle fleet reductions, higher than projected gas tax receipts, the elimination of federal earmarks, and savings from a mild winter, ODOT is able to dump $400 million into the budget for major new construction projects throughout the state – including the Innerbelt Bridge project! That means demolition of the existing Innerbelt Bridge and construction of a new eastbound span can happen much sooner than earlier projections. Funds for the demolition of the existing bridge have been approved by the Transportation Review Advisory Council (TRAC) and demolition of the existing bridge will begin as soon as all traffic is moved onto the new westbound Innerbelt Bridge in late 2013 – as was originally planned. Construction of the new eastbound span has been moved up to begin in 2016, representing only a short delay from the original schedule. We’re closing the gap and ODOT stands with the people of Cleveland and will continue to seek funds to finish this priority project as soon as money becomes available. We understand the importance of this project and its impact on jobs, commerce, commuters and northeast Ohio’s economic recovery and that is why we are doing everything we can to seek out innovative and alternative funding sources. The Department is hopeful that additional funding will become available in order to move forward with the Eastbound Bridge project on its original timeline and limit impacts to commuters and businesses alike. Ahem... someone up thread made an unfortunate comment regarding one of the greatest pure Cleveland songs in recorded history. And I am sure at this point an apology will be on it's way. But while we wait for that let's enjoy the Michael Stanley Band and "This Town". BTW if you don't know the words by heart, please delete your account immediately.

Cleveland Cavs Discussion
All in all I am OK with the Waiters pick. Once you got past Davis and maybe MKG I don't believe there was a lot of separation between Beal, Waiters, Barnes and Robinson. Given equal minutes over the next few years I see them performing about the same. I think the Cavs drafted more for need than anything else. And Zeller will be more athletic than most think, he does need to get stronger though.

Cleveland: Downtown & Vicinity Residences Discussion
I have not seen this anywhere up thread, from Michelle Jarboe's twitter: CRM Real Estate says they'll turn Chester Commons Bldg, at 1120 Chester, into 36 apartments over retail. https://mobile.twitter.com/mjarboe/status/217743624333561858

Cleveland: Downtown: May Company Building
If you visit the PositivelyCleveland site it shows CowboyRock as 200 Euclid Ave and sends you to the Cadillac Ranch website. So it looks like it may be a re-branding of some sort. Wonder why that property can't attract a more stable tenant. But also there is a mention of a possible Cleveland location on the Granite City twitter feed. https://mobile.twitter.com/WagsGC/status/217618940241776642

Well I just went through the first 1500 listed attendees at the ICSC Conference, btw there is about a zillion more. Those I saw from Cleveland were Forest City, DDR Corp (Wolstien), KA Architecture (think Welcome Center) and Jacobs Visconsi. So maybe we will hear something soon.

Saw this photo of the LC bridge being readied for the bike lane enhancement as part of the inner belt project. I know the work includes lighting for the guardians of transportation. I hope it involves cleaning them too. (Photo from jmd41280 on flicker)

Cleveland: Downtown: Jack Cleveland Casino - Phase 2
That waterfall is so badass, I love out of the box thinking like that. But then of course I say to myself that could never happen in Cleveland. But why not? Cleveland deserves it and much more.
