  1. This looks great - I had to find the "before" to remember what this used to look like.
  2. A friend of mine in college rented the "single family" home at 2539 Medary Ave, all 252 square feet of it.
  3. Heavy demolition machinery is mobilized onsite this morning. I bet this one starts coming down today.
  4. I like the design but i wish it wasn't a ripoff of SHoP's 242 Broome Street project in NYC.
  5. I agree as well. The renderings may be underselling the final design. They are indicating a fair amount of brick on the facades with detailing instead of just flat planes of material. Lupton Rausch does good work, especially in that style, so I have high hopes for the execution if this design holds up through the commission.
  6. There are a few renderings on POD Design's website: http://www.poddesign.net/park-and-open-space/2022/7/7/jeffrey-square
  7. Looks like some soil borings are being taken today in the north end of the parking lot on the NE side of Fourth and Spring, just south of the fire museum. That lot has been deteriorating for years with little upkeep, so I've always assumed it was waiting for redevelopment.
  8. Fox in the Snow teased on social media yesterday that they will be opening a new location at 38 W Bridge Street this summer.
  9. Asbestos removal work has started and the plywood in the window openings is being removed.
  10. If the existing space is around 2,700 sf, you're not getting much more than 150 occupants per code. There's no way this was ever going to be a significantly larger event space without more square footage.
  11. Seems like a great opportunity (and massive blank canvas) for some muralists to do something big.
  12. Was there any announcement as to why the Spring and 4th dog park was dismantled a few weeks ago? Curious if that's getting revamped or repurposed.
  13. For the people like me who wanted to see what those look like: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/newsroom/news/euv-most-precise-complex-machine.html#gs.q6m3xj "Delivering just one of these tools to D1X takes three Boeing 747 cargo planes, 40 freight containers and 20 trucks. The school bus-sized machine comprises 100,000 parts and weighs nearly 200 tons."
  14. I would think that there should be a good amount of potential daily customers from the jobsite. I'm pretty sure the convention center food court made it through the pandemic mainly on the support of the Hilton 2.0 construction workers.
  15. I think the Columbus Hilton does a good job of making a nod to its context of the convention center with the High Street façade and the existing Hilton with the precast color and window patterning. Going with a purely glass form on that site likely would have felt out of place with the way the tower abuts the convention center. I also like that it's added some color to the Columbus skyline beyond the shades of beige and brown.
  16. The final Hilton sign at the top of the tower (on the south side) is installed as of today.
  17. I believe it's 5 stories, but it's only about 20' deep, so it isn't covering much of the White-Haines' north façade.
  18. Looks like the permit review is currently underway with the City and should be issued in the coming weeks, so we'll hopefully see some movement soon on that site.
  19. They've been working on that in stages. It'll never be perfectly uniform, but the variation has lessened significantly where they've treated the panels.
  20. This plus they were waiting on the crane removal to finish out the exterior of the building on High Street, along with the areas where it had bracing members inside the building. They needed the crane gone to keep those other pieces moving to meet the schedule.
  21. Friend of mine got this photo:
  22. Top of the crown is about 325' above the main entrance, but closer to 336' if you count the grade change as you go north along High Street. Scheduled to open at the end of August.
