  1. Well you should not shoot in the dark because you will usually miss. The chosen developer was not even in the picture when the Clinic decided to close the hospital and if I recall correctly the city did not want the hospital closed.
  2. Redirected from the Erieview thread since this is reckless speculation/wishful thinking... I assume the Jacobs Group is aggressively marketing its Public Square lot. If so, sign Weston Hurd, TransDigm, and Walter Haverfield as the anchor tenants for a new tower on that lot. Oh, and I hope Cuyahoga County will soon issue an RFP for building a new Justice Center with a lease/purchase option. If they do, I would think Weston would have the leg up with its Superblock on Superior. A parking deck wrapped with housing in the north half, facing St. Clair would be nice. ....End reckless speculation/wishful thinking Unfortunately, I recall GOTTAPLAN stating in another thread recently that he was speaking to somebody with the city and the Weston superblock is all but dead. I hope that is not the case but it seems to ring true because we have not heard a peep about it for almost a year, either positive or negative. Those parking lots are like cockroaches. They are going to out live us all.
  3. If that is true, it is a significant change in terms of what was being discussed at the recent community meeting (5 floor max) and I applaud it. More important is the need for some quality architecture and no skimping on the materials. I like the idea, as suggested at the meeting, that the east portion of the new construction have a more traditional look (in the vicinity of Nighttown) and then transition to a more modern look as the development proceeds down Cedar towards the point.
  4. ^^This is not a high quality project. Have you reviewed the developers credentials, its other projects and its incredibly piss ass conceptuals? Second, northeast Ohio is already over retailed. Go ahead and build it some where else...it does not belong on the lakefront, prime lakefront land or not. Here is a thought. Garfield Hts at Transportation Blvd. They could use another wind sweep development at that prime highway location.
  5. ^I am always curious when I see somebody post a statement like that. Does that mean they are still searching for a lending source or sources? Or does that mean that they have all the financing lined up and the various sources are negotiating (fighting over) things like who in first in line if there is a default? Or does that mean everything is sorted out among the various sources and the lawyers are just spending their sweet old time getting the complicated paper work together because it is summer time and they always chuck out of the office early on Friday.
  6. If we had the population of Manhattan we wouldn’t be talking about this So basically it is you position that we have to accept trash from a low end developer on our lakefront because we are who we are. I am sick of cities agreeing to uninspired development just because, thank god, somebody is actually willing to build something in our town.
  7. Sorry KJP, I respect and agree with much of what you post but in this regard you are way off base.
  8. Pretty much the worse thing that could happen on the lakefront. Unneeded, ugly, cheap looking, a lowest common denominator development and an embarrassment compared to what other cities are doing on their lakefronts.
  9. ^I think what is being discussed in that article is the what eventually became the cwru-clinic health campus building which is now finishing up construction between Euclid and Chester and can be viewed on the subject webcam. I believe early plans were to locate the new building on the old Mt Sinia property on 105th as discussed in the article The crane being asked about is more in the high 80's early 90's about three or four blocks north of Chester.
  10. ^There Is a crane by the hotel but I don't think that is the one being referred to. There is another crane about 3-4 blocks north of the dental clinic. Strange place for a crane.
  11. ^Actually there was a lawsuit requesting a TRO filed by CEI. However the suit was filed in February of this year and was just settled and dismissed in July (which probably prompted the recent land clearing). It involved CEI poles and wires on the property. Maybe they ran into problems with them again as the clearing commenced. I just happened to drive up Mayfield today and noticed the same thing. No action since the pics you took last week.
  12. ^I know the plans have been revised a number of times to address nearby resident's concerns. Was there suppose to be retail at one point (not that it is needed)?
  13. ^Harbor Verandas
  14. I cannot recall the name of it but also the small (I think 16 units) Pace is building on the Lakefront by the Rock Hall.
  15. ^That diagram is as least three years old and I would imagine that the siting etc is just conceptual. Pace is allegedly negotiating with a couple of commercial tenants and what their needs and desires are will probably guide the final plan (or at least the initial phase behind the stadium)
  16. ^thanks May Day
  17. ^What height on the south side of Euclid are you referring to?
  18. ^Under fun facts it states "First new high rise in downtown (CBD) Cleveland in 40 years. Come on guys...get your facts straight (Unless they are referring to residential high rise only and ignoring office buildings and hotels...if so they do not consider Crittendon Court a high rise).
  19. ^I know you did not mean it that way but your post, especially the first sentence, could be viewed as very racists.
  20. ^I think the Urban Community School on Lorain is a popular choice. While its mission is to serve low income students on the near west side I have know a number of Ohio City professionals who sent their kids there. A client of mine was on the board and I have been impressed by the school for years.
  21. ^From the looks of those pics it appears the first office I ever had in my life is now going to be somebody's bedroom. They should enjoy the view of ore boats cruising up and down the river (which I always marveled at when I should have been working).
  22. ^I am not that familiar with either city but I took CBUSSOCCER's post to mean that you could live in Lancaster more easily without have to leave the city for goods and services when compared to Marysville, not that it had a stronger economic base.
  23. Great idea and I really like the signage. Looks like some classy people are running the place.
  24. ^Actually I find it kind of sad that a commercial establishment feels it necessary to put up such a sign.
  25. I noticed that an article posted in the Flats East Bank thread reported that the seminal tax credit that Stark is pushing to get this project done passed the House. If I recall early reporting when this was first purposed, it was suggested that if the legislation passed, the earliest this would happen would be December of 2018. So I am just guessing that this is moving at a quicker pace than originally anticipated (especially given that the specifics have changed drastically). However, I don't know much about the process in the Senate and whether it will have a harder time there. I imagine a bunch of recesses are coming up which won't help matters. Anybody have some inside information or at least knowledge of how the Senate works?
