  1. ^there will contaminents in the run off water flowing into the lake.
  2. ^It is like any development project large or small...can he "position" the project so he can get the financing. We all know this is the big nut. At this time he does not have it.
  3. ^I probably like the design more than May Day but I have to echo his "cautious optimism". There is just something about all this hype that is rubbing me the wrong way. I guess what I really want to say is SHOW ME THE MONEY.
  4. ^My understanding is that the Herold Building was part of the purchase by Stark, but it is not part of the new construction. It and the parking lot next to it are to be renovated and built upon, although point is rarely discussed in the many news articles. I guess not sexy enough.
  5. Guys that article was first posted in this thread on Dec. 17 with multiple posts discussing the alledged 550 height of the building. So yes it probably means nothing as suggested and we have already been discussing it for three weeks.
  6. Not being familiar with Phoenix I was really surprised by the pics. Was expecting a lot more (especially since it is the state capital).
  7. This was stated a number of times last year. Anyone in the know why a no go so far?
  8. ^I believe there were a couple more nation wide in addition to the Pittsburgh incident.
  9. Question? Has it been stated in any other media other than that Freshwater article that the primary tower was going to be 550 feet. I just don't have a memory that the exact height has been mentioned previously.
  10. Michelle does not seem to think the May Co. conversion will go forward anytime soon if ever. Not even a hint of good tidings in her PD article.
  11. I think this looks great. Like the way it steps down in the back to the less dense portion of the block.
  12. ^I would think you are right given those facts but to quote Rains in the Crains article "I'm done". Hopefully he will cool down and find a way for this to work.
  13. ^^Are Carney-Rains involved in the George Worthington project? I thought it was the Vinni Family (don't know if I got the name right). And what is going on there (not to get off topic)...have not heard anything since the credits were awarded.
  14. I wonder if Michelle is preparing an article? I would like to get her take on this.
  15. Not a very positive response from Rain "I'm done". The article indicated the team was going to meet later to today to see if there was any other route to take but you would think they would already have thought out other options if they were not awarded the credit. Looks like the meeting just might turn into a gripe fest.
  16. ^^^I was thinking the same thing...kind of ironic that the May Co. developers along with local reps came up with the new mega tax credit and saw to its passage all for naught.
  17. Glad to see this is moving forward. Any chance those two non-descript buildings between this project and the new Mariner's (spelling?) Watch apartment building will be purchased, demoed and development? I believe an active business is in at least one of them but they really are such eyesores perched between these two new buildings.
  18. Glad to see they are starting to use traditional lampposts again (at least on Central quad...I note the Western pics have the modern lighting). Thanks for the update

    ^why?
  20. ^Yes that's the next big announcement. 40 mile heavy rail subway from Rocky River down Detroit, up Euclid to Cedar and then out Cedar to I-271. Good thing there is a subway entrance in that building already. It will save about .00001 percent on the 10 billion dollar project. Also heard they are going to try to get it completed for the RNC convention
  21. ^what exactly is this height fetish you have all about? :?
  22. Very interesting article. From this untrained eye it makes lots of sense given what you see on Cleveland.com (a headline and no facts in the article).
  23. ^Aldis has a store less than a half mile away on 117th
  24. I don't fathom why Cleveland needs or would want all the problems that would come with annexation. Very expensive proposition with little in the return other than GE and Forest Hills. Location next to UC is only so much of a selling point (really any significant UC synergy is years in the future and Cleveland has enough of its own problem neighborhoods near by to work on rather than devote scare resources to more problems).
  25. ^Did you read Micelle's article posted by Strap?
