  1. ^Yeah, I thought Musky indicated that the boring was going on at the West Ninth and St. Clair lot. Wasn't the Marous condo building further north.
  2. If that is true about the tax credits in this case, then the tax credit program has to loosen up a bit. edit - well, this could be an obstacle. A comment from cleveland.com: the elevators are up against the back wall so you cant put windows there because there are no offices there You know I thought that was the case from being in the building so often but was not sure, so I held back commenting as posters constantly lamented the blank wall.
  3. I too love when that happens. Problem is that that person is usually such an idiot diner that he will starting fighting with his own friends at the table and tell them they are wrong rather than admit he made a mistake. Poor servers can never argue with the guest and often the case will just apologize for getting the order wrong when they know in their own mind that they got it right and the customer is wrong.
  4. I think it would be a good idea, as suggested in the article, to go with the plan that maintains about 4-5 floors of office space on the lower floors. As it is right across the street from the Justice Center it is a great building for small law firms and solo lawyers who share office space. Glad to see Weston starting to become active downtown but it I had a choice, I would have preferred that their first big project be something on the parking lots they own in the warehouse district. I hope this project does not distract them or take away company resources from a WD development.
  5. ^Just what that area needs. A couple of more chain restaurants.

One of my employee's was there Thursday night and she said it was packed. Lines for the food trucks were crazy.
  7. Now that things are falling into place for this project I hope Carney at least tries to approach Target for a City Target on the first floor of the building as suggested above. It just seems like a no brainer (look at the huge captive market they would have right upstairs, not to mention the increasing downtown residential population just blocks away) as well as a downtown officer worker market. If I recall correctly May Company was still making a profit downtown when they decided to close the store. The huge floor plate seems like it would fit a store like Target to a tee. I know Target is having company wide "issues" right now and may not be in a huge expansion mode, but it is at least worth a try and the perfect time for it.
  8. ^And would appear to be making money doing it. Yet Forest City continues to ignore the market (OK I have to learn to control my constant Forest City rants).
  9. Does anybody know the process in connection with posting of news articles by the Northeast Ohio Media Group on Cleveland.com? Does the reporter just post without review or does an editor look it over. I have read two articles in the past couple of hours with glaring grammatical errors. I know when I post on this board or send a quick e mail and read it over later I am always catching mis-spellings or grammatical errors that I made, but I am not a professional reporter and it starts to get a bit embarrassing reading this stuff.
  10. ^I guess your right...I can't stand when people post nonsense just to post.
  11. ^Definitely agree. That wall of garages on the south side of Superior between East 9th and 12th has always drove me nuts. I would not have been happy if the Ameriturst Building had been built with such a parking arrangement.
  12. ^^^^Touchy...I guess it is improper to ask for facts around here.
  13. ^Ok since you know so much...what Columbus project?
  14. ^So did anybody reply and basically tell her that and put her in her place?
  15. So if we spend 60 million redoing the square all the idiots who harass women will just disappear?
  16. ^Confused...what does Forest City have to do with this.
  17. ^like the promenade/arcade concept....however KJP, you still don't have me convinced that this is all nothing but pie in the sky right now...although it is fun to talk about it.

I thought the former loop was to become park land.

  20. That is fantastic news? I would love to hear which other tenants have committed to the project. I love inside information. This is great and very unexpected news. I was still having my doubts about all this moving forward any time soon but this bit of news, if true, has made a believer of me. OK Michelle, go attack and let us know details.
  21. ^It was mentioned in another thread that activity has increased at the Le Meridian site the pass couple of weeks so maybe work has not "ground to a stop".
  22. ^I agree Mayfield Lofts is dead but I don't necessarily know if it being "replaced" by this project. Lofts is apparently dead because it is difficult to obtain financing for condos (especially for small developers like the guys behind Mayfield Lofts). But if this Coyne project has been kicking around for more than 3 years as suggested above, if was being proposed at the same time Mayfield Lofts was still a glimmer of hope. The Lofts would have been directly on Mayfield and more to the right of that drive. The Coyne building is more to the back on the big lot next to the tracks in front of the Sadari building. The two buildings could have co-existed if I recall correctly. That said, it does not appear that the Coyne project appears that much of a go at this point either so I don't know what if anything it is replacing. Like other posters have noted, it is nothing new and has not progressed very far over the years (unless somebody has some inside info that it is moving forward other than an old website posting).
  23. ^Is this the Toronto Lakefront Development News thread?
  24. What makes you think it might be the end of the parking lot? It could potentially be bought by one of the parking lot companies which tend to be flush with cash, and the demand for parking in that area is stronger than ever. I wonder of Marous still owns it (or did they ever own it...maybe they just had an option to buy when they were planning District Park).
  25. ^yes...that seems like a million years ago
