Cleveland: Campus District
^my first thought is that this is not classic market rate housing. It is student housing which I imagine has a different financial forumula.

Cincinnati Streetcar / The Connector News
^^^Viewing this from afar (Cleveland) I guess I am a bit confused if what you say is true (that only Downtown and OTR support the streetcar). If that is the case how did it survive two attempts to de-rail the project by city wide initiatives. Does the population of downtown and OTR so far exceed the rest of the city that they were able to overcome the anti street car vote?

Cleveland: Campus District
Lots of positives in the article. Most significant is out of state developer seeing potential in the city. The design is not great but not awful either. A positive is that it will be built to the street on Euclid (getting rid of that ugly plaza in front of the current building) and also replaces that awful surface lot on Prospect.

Cleveland: HealthLine / Euclid Corridor
^you can get off at East Blvd or Ford and complete sidewalks to the VA. Ford might even be a shorter walk than 105.

Cleveland: HealthLine / Euclid Corridor
^Valid points although I don't understand the not accessible by paved sidewalk comment.

Cleveland: Downtown & Vicinity Residences Discussion
Hmmm....all it is is a long winded article doing what we do on this board on a daily basis....speculate about where something should be built and offer our opinions why...nothing concrete at all.

^No...if I recall employees at the time were not keen on it among other things.

Cleveland: Downtown: Hilton Cleveland
^^no question about it but with the Cleveland hotel being on the mall, it is in a more prominent location, so it better be.

Cleveland: Lakefront Development and News
I have never been thrilled with the design of the bridge as well and am kinda glad they keep coming up short when applying for grants. There needs to be a connection but it should also be done right.

Cleveland: Downtown: Huntington Bank Field
I some what see you point about "collar counties" but it is also true that they do not share in admissions or parking tax revenue or tax revenue generated from surrounding businesses (restaurants and bars etc) on game day. Of course much of this is mitigated by need for additional city services (police, gabage pickup) on event days.

Cleveland: Downtown: Hilton Cleveland
^The Justice Center is not 26 stories (the court tower has 23 floors). And comparing floors is not an accurate gage of height anyway since, as mentioned a couple of times above, a hotel floor is usually shorter than an office building floor and it is even more pronounced when it comes to the Justice Center since the court room floors are even larger than a regular office building. So even though the Justice Center has less floors it will still be taller than the hotel.

^I use to think that about Lot 45 (Intesta). Anybody know who owns the used car lot?

Cleveland: Downtown: Hilton Cleveland
Not to go "crazy off topic" (but I guess I am ) but you can see from May Day's first photo how even a 20 story building (about the size of 55 Public Square) on the Public Square parking lot would change the skyline (at least from the west). And could you imagine the Ameritrust Tower there from that angle? Oh well. Twenty years as a parking lot on the Square is just too long. Unfortunately, I imagine it will stay that way for a good long time.

Cleveland: University Circle: Cleveland Clinic Developments
^the quote from Clinic rep as to why they could not incorporate the facade of the church into the hotel design had bs dripping from it. Like a poster commented up thread, the Clinic reps have sounded like a bunch of AS#%$ throughout this process.

Cleveland: Downtown: Hilton Cleveland
^it is not a freeway...it is a two lane street...in my experience people actually do cross streets to get to other places.
-
Cleveland: Duck Island: Development and News
My read is that this is pretty much a go...if the proposed development on Lorain and W. 25th also goes forward (more iffy) it goes without saying that this would be one of the prime areas in the city given what is already there (especially the easy ride on the Red Line to Public Square, University Circle and the airport...this could become one of RTA's busiest stations). I am thinking of moving back into the city and if both of these projects happen this would be my number one place to look.

Columbus: Downtown: RiverSouth Developments and News
Htsguy replied to CMH_Downtown's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & Construction^Ink you are right. From the photos those buildings would look great rehabbed. Doesn't Columbus have one or two surface parking lots that this project could go on?

^could you elaborate on "ect". Isn't Flip Side all by itself on that small odd sized parcel across from the hotel up against the rapid tracks. What else is being "dug".
