Cleveland: Downtown: Hilton Cleveland
^not to get off topic but...while there is a height limit for buildings in DC it does not have anything to do with the Washington Monument which is over 500 feet. The tallest commercial building in Washington is a little over 200 feet. The old height restriction was 110 feet. The law was eventually amended to allow buildings to be 20 feet taller than the width of the adjacent street.

Cleveland: Ohio City: Development and News
I want to be the lawyer who represents the injured plaintiff against the city (igoring posbbible sov. immunity issues) after hit by an emergency vehicle plowing through an intersection and the head of the EMS department states in deposition "Yes it is city and department policy to make as little noise are possible on an emergency run as we don't want to bother people."

Cleveland: Downtown: Huntington Bank Field
^Is the city paying for this renovation? I did not get that impression from the article and there has been no talk about it that I am aware of. Of course the city is contractually bound (from day one) to pay for the majority of maintenance.

Cleveland: Downtown Office Buildings Updates
^years ago, when I was young (like I said YEARS ago) I recieved a job offer from Progressive that was more than 40% of my salary at the time. After much thought I turned the offer down because I just could not see myself working that far out in the surburbs (or really in the surburbs at all) after being downtwon for the first 3 years of my career. About 6 months later I took a new job downtown at a salary much lower than the Progressive offer. That was the "thinking" of this "twenty something" way back then.

Cleveland: Jack Cleveland Casino
That is a fantastic picture of PS....two interesting points....everything other than the people and the trees look like they are covered in a layer of soot (note even the American flag)....and I find it funny that people today lament that PS is nothing but one big bus stop....appears that it has been that way for quite some time (at least 1907 from the look of things)

Cleveland: Flats East Bank
Does any body know if Toby Keith's is still committed to the East Bank? The reason I ask is that according to the Cincy Banks thread they are being sued by their landlord for over $241,000 in past due rents and associated costs. Apparently they have not paid rent since November.

Cleveland: Restaurant News & Info
It seems like Cleveland and the nation as a whole are getting over run with new burger places (not so much fast food burgers). It is clearly a trend and it will be interesting to see who survives, espeically since many restuarants also feature "gourmet" burgers. I think FG is basically good and I go semi regularly, although I don't go out of my way. Interestingly, my mom just discovered it for the first time the other night and was raving about her food (and she is a very good cook and pretty picky about restaruant food).

Cleveland: University Circle: Uptown (UARD)
^This got me thinking (the fill material comment). Does anybody recall what building or buildings existed on this corner at one time? For the life of me I cannot recall any. Always remember it as a parking lot and I go pretty far back (went to Case law school in the early 80's which is just a couple blocks away down Ford).

Cleveland: Hotel Development
^The CAC hotel now has its own thread. It was created yesterday by KJP when other posters first reported this news and a discussion has begun in that thread.
