  1. ^excellent...10 points on the bar exam assualt essay question.
  2. What about Baker? Did they decide to stay in PNC Center?
  3. I too have always thought the connection between Shaker Square and University Circle is for some strange reason "difficult" (especially considering they are so close to one another). However, I don't believe that, for about 100 reasons (money being the number one reason of course but not the sole reason) there will be any light rail development any where in Cleveland in the near, or even distant future, no matter how much fun we have with such planning on this board. I would imagine the closest possibility would be an extension of the Blue Line, which is still in its infancy. Perhaps some some sort of dedicated shuttle would work. This would mean a unique style bus that passengers would instantly recognize as the Shaker Square - UC shuttle. It would have to also run often as well as early and very late and serve the whole surrounding square as well as Larchmere and have multiple stops on the circle.
  4. ^Would agree with your post and point....that said CMA is usually in the top of 10 of art museums in the country on most lists I have ever seen (for what those "lists" are worth since a good portion of the evaluation has to be subjective).
  5. ^I recall that just happen to Timken in Canton. Did that happen here as well.
  6. ^I think you might be right except for the thai mafia...they don't do downtown.
  7. ^Just speculation, but maybe this is a ploy by K and D (the East Ohio publicity) to get the county to play ball with it in connection with Ameriturst. Maybe the county is driving a hard bargain and K and D is saying "OK we are going to take our scarce resources and buy another downtown building for our project...there are plenty out there" and the county is then still stuck with the Ameritrust Building (is any other developer actually pursuing Ameritrust other than K an D?.... a yes would of course blow my theory out the window).
  8. Well I thought "surprise" meant something was going to happen in the near future.
  9. I did note that while you cannot access the article without a subscription, the Crain's website had a picture of the East Ohio Gas Company Building on E. 9th next to the headline....Hmmm.
  10. ^I realized that a few weeks ago. Can anybody summarize the article?
  11. ^Hmm...interesting. I wish I could convince my landlord to do the whole no rent for two year thing. :-D
  12. Does anybody know if Fred still owned it? Did he just retire? It has been about 8 years since I had my office in Playhouse Square, but use to go 2-3 times a week and other office associates were there almost everyday. Had a very good lunch business back then.
  13. I drove by at night for the first time the other day and it looked fantastic all lit up. Very warm and inviting.
  14. Jerry seems to have confirmed today in the RTA thread that Cumberland bought the building.
  15. The article seemed pretty clear that Cumberland had purchased it (mentioned sale had been approved by the RTA Board) for $500,000.00. I find it hard to believe that Dunham has that kind of $$$ to spare (plus the substantial cost for demolition which I would imagine would run 7 figures).
  16. KJP...if what you say is true I can only think of three buildings off the top of my head that would meet the county's needs. That would be a substantial amount of contiguous space, parking for patrons and a large 1st floor presences for county services (filings, payments, record review and the like). That would be the Huntington Bldg, East Ohio Gas and maybe Eaton Center (what is on the first floor? Is a bank branch still there?)
  17. Had our company Christmas party at XO last night (great food as always and super service....best waiter I had any where in a long time). What I was very happy to see was a good crowd for a Monday night in Jan. (with a big football game on the tube to boot) at a not cheap restaurant. I really thought we would be one of the few tables in the place and, while not packed, a decent crowd. Good tidings, in my opinion, for the warehouse district. A somewhat pleasant surprise was free parking in the lot at the southeast corner of St. Clair and West Sixth. The lot had a number of cars in it (again for a Monday night in Jan.) but when I arrived at 7:00 PM their was nobody manning the lot. I asked the valet at XO about it and he said they sometimes just leave it on Monday nights and to just go ahead and park. Those lots really must be gold mines if they can forgo income at certain times.
  18. ^I for one do not believe that.
  19. ^we all have so much fun spending other people's money on this board :-D
  20. ^I think his point was that it would not be a massive dead zone with the suggested apartments above the county offices.
  21. I would like to know more too. Do they want to mix apartments with the hotel or can the Hyatt completely (would not be happy about that)? I cannot access the entire article. Seems as though Crains has overcome the headline google trick. The last fews weeks, when I tried to do this, I could not access the article as I could in the past.
  22. Wouldn't it be great if instead of relocating power poles they were burying the wires. Of course the number one major throughfare in Cleveland which needs this treatment is a block away...Carnegie....it seems as though there is a pole every three feet.

8 Titles...great insight about the people of Boston....I love the urban fabric, both in the city and many of the outlaying areas and just think it is a beautiful city. It is the first place I would move to in the US if in a position to do so....however...the people are just not that friendly or hospitable....I mean like every day interactions. They really need to loosen up.

Ink...the past two days you posted pics from two of the three cities in the United States which I believe are the most urban AND liveable (as well as beautiful)....the third is San Fran. Would love to live in any of the three if I were in a position to move, but Boston would be number one 'cause I need seasons, which San Fran does not have, and DC, while it has four seasons, is just murder in the summer.
