  1. Where's the picture of the Penn State student throwing up (or peeing) in the bushes. Had to be many opportunities for that shot if their rep is accurate.

    Many surprisenly sterile streetscapes
  3. I don't believe Legacy is Stark so he is not the only one.
  4. ^^Such conversations with "guys" saying the same exact thing (city dropped the ball) have been posted numerous times on this board on multiple occasions and have been shot down very convincingly by other posters (I think McCleveland comes to mind). This kind of talk has reached internet urban legend status and I find it very hard to believe. More relevant to Crocker Park...this area is already a nightmare at rush hour. The traffic "fixes" suggested in the article probably won't do much. It is not going to be a pretty picture.

^I recall reading an article on the topic (I think a Chicago paper) that had DC suburbs in the mix.
  6. Is something actually planned for the East Ohio Building? All I get from KJP's post is that the owners want to sell it, perphaps by auction, and are marketing it as possible housing. I am starting to get nervous about this intersection with the problems across the street at Key, as well as Eaton abandoning their building shortly just a block away.

^^^On occassion I have to, out of neccessity, visit the GFS on Lorain Rd. in North Olmstead in the heart of a huge population base with many other businesses around (about twice a month at various times). It is the rare occassion that I have seen more than one cashier on duty. Never a line. Prices are not anything special.

This piece of #%*@ is what I feared when Coral was chosen as the developer. I have no doubt that the GFS will be a ghost town given all the other options around. I am so sicken by this (and what it could have been) that I would support the Oakwood development (something I oppose) just to teach Coral a lesson.
  9. ^^Maybe just more than a tad. I believe the retail component of Uptown is suppose to more than double what exists. I just hope it is not all chains or corporate restaurants (like seems to be the mix at the new Banks development in Cincy).

I liked the days when I simply had a receptionist who wrote the message on a piece of paper and put it in my in box. That way I could always blame the receptionist and say I never got your message when I did not feel like responding ("you know it is hard to find good help...what are we to do") :-D Oh the good old days.
  11. Agree with you completely MH as long as it is done well. I recall some horrible facade reclamations done in DC in the 80's.
  12. When ever I hear New Rochelle I always think of the old Dick Van Dyke show. I always thought it was a 100% very wealthy suburb, but the pics do not suggest that, although very nice middle class homes. Does it get more upscale closer to the water or Larchmont?
  13. I was chatting with the developer of the Hazel Drive townhouse apartments today and he offered that they will break ground in early August. He is very excited about this project and believes they will rent very well.
  14. ^I really don't think that was McCleveland point or that he was even remotely suggesting that they deserved to get shot because they were buying drugs. How you got that from his post is beyond me.
  15. This question came up at dinner the other night and nobody seemed to know the answer. Where was the first Wal Mart in Cuyahoga County located and what was the year? (Right after this discussion we went on to the topic of the post-impressionist). I am guessing the first in Norhteast Ohio was probably in Summitt or Medina County off of some highway exit.
  16. Definitely agree with you Willyboy.
  17. ^Hardly...it is about 200 yards long. Lots of different apartment options in the e.4th -Gateway neighborhood and even more in the Warehouse District (lofts) just west of Public Square
  18. As far as I can tell this is the fist time the name "Westin" has been associated with this project.

    Thank you Robert and RR.
  20. ^^Since we don't test citizens for drugs just for the hell of it, I am assuming that the rationale to test is because they are receiving a government benefit (Section 8 vouchers or what ever the program is now called). I would have no problem with that if ALL government benefits came with the stipulation for drug testing...so that corporation that just received numerous tax benefits and other incentives to keep their headquarters in town...drug test the executive suite just to play fair....and by the way....I can guarantee you that many many of those suits will fail the test.

^One...Ouch....Two....are there that many shootings and robberies in downtown Cincinnati?
  22. I was having a bad day....this news really helps...very much thrilled.
  23. Not to get to far off topic...I use to have my shirts made at Scarfidi's and was always happy with results and quality. Of course they did not actual make them themselves but did provide the service including suggestions as to materials and accurate measurements. Good to have them on Euclid and nice people.
  24. ^Where are you getting your information from? While Kasich is not an anti-casino zealot he sure was not a supporter of the constitutional amendment or casinos in general.
  25. Don't know much about the Cleveland Clothing Co so I did click onto their website. While I wish them well, I certainly would like something more prominent than a t shirt store go into that space.
