Cleveland-Lakewood: Enhance Clifton Transit Project
Article on Cleveland.com that TRAC denied funds for Clifton Enhancement and RTA is going back to the drawing board. Strange tone to the article...RTA is "saddened" by the decision. I cannot believe that they actually thought they were going to get funds in a million years from this administration for this type of project. I mean really....they have had to already been discussing back up plans long ago if they are truly serious about going forward. What that could possibly be in this economic environment, however, is anybody's guess.

Cleveland: Little Italy Neighborhood Discussion
^Boy that is an incredible slap in the face to many fine professionally run restaurants in Little Italy who have enough problems in this economy without having to deal with a stereotype they have nothing to do with.

Columbus Blue Jackets Discussion
Rider, what's the average attendance for a Blue Jackets game (this season)?

South Euclid: Cedar Center
^Please don't expect much from this development...Coral is the developer and they don't have a great track record (aesthetic wise) in a good economy. Given the current state of the ecomony and how long they have taken to actually get shovels in the ground, I have fears of massive corner cutting on a project that was not that promising in the first place.

Cleveland: Little Italy Neighborhood Discussion
^You are exactly right. I can guarantee you that what most people think of as Little Italy is not 11% black. From apperances, the Asian numbers look right on point.

Cleveland: Detroit-Shoreway / Gordon Square Arts District: Development News
Gee I clicked on this thread to to read about the new 2,000 unit housing development planned for the Gordon Arts District. Lately all threads have gone nutsy. I blaming it on lack of news. We need news.

Shrinking Cities news & discussion
^Have to disagree with you. What's to stay that in fifty years (not that long a period of time) the trend reverses (again) and we are scrabbling to build infrastructure in cities long neglected because we thought it was the end of the empire.

Cleveland: Hotels, Conventions, and Tourism News & Info
I stayed at the Cincinnatian once a while ago. The public areas are grand but my room was not much to write home about. While I have never been in the Rennaisance rooms I would imagine it is comparable.

Cleveland: Cuyahoga County Gov't properties disposition (non-Ameritrust)
I thought a key part of the article was the realization (admission) by Fitzgerald and the county that, due to the continuing tight credit market and legal restrictions on what the county can do in terms of working with private developers, there needs to be talk and research regarding creative ways to implement financing. As such they already have plans to meet and work with loan experts in this regard. That is smart and shows they are being pro active rather than waiting to problem solve when a deal in actually in the works and bogged down.

Cleveland: Downtown: The 9 / Rotunda / County Admin Development
^Did Baker and Hostetler just decide to remain in the PNC Building? You never hear about them still looking and it has been a while since their lease was supposedly up.

US Economy: News & Discussion
^That's OK because those shareholders are re-investing those profits and creating new high paying jobs...oh wait....well at least they are paying lots of taxes on those profits so society as a whole can benefit...oh wait...hmmm....somebody better tell the Republicans about this.

Just incredible. Have to agree with ColDay...one of the best threads ever posted.

Cleveland-Lakewood: Enhance Clifton Transit Project
According to the article this still needs TRAC approval. Sshh...everybody keep quiet so Kasich does not find out and screw Lakewood and Cleveland like he is screwing Cincinnati...after all it is not a freeway. By the way....I had to laugh at Summers quote about what were we getting for $486,000.00...I would think that a landscaped median down Clinton at that price would be a steal and a wonderful amenity...instead he ridicules it....be a man and say we would love to have it but just don't have the $$$ to contribute.

^Chinato does have outdoor seating running along the sidewalk.

Ohio Census / Population Trends & Lists
^Well pretty much on point as far as Kasich is concerned. I have pretty much come to the conclusion that for the next for years Cleveland is going to have to ignore the state of Ohio and go at it on its own in terms of urban of development and positive urban policy. This of course makes a tough job even tougher but we cannot cry over spilled milk.

Cleveland: Random Development and News
^Don't recall it but that would appear to be one of the longest shots given that the current county administration probably has no interest in building a new administration building. It would have to be a really sweet deal. What are the odds of that? Usually the developer is the one looking for the deal.

Cleveland: HealthLine / Euclid Corridor
^I am talking about staffing costs....with wages and benefits it would surely run into the millions.

Cleveland: HealthLine / Euclid Corridor
^Clearly such a system would be cost prohibitive given the number of stations. There has to be another solution

Cleveland: Downtown & Vicinity Residences Discussion
^In the Bruer thread a few days ago there was a brief discussion of some out of the ordinary activity in the Rotunda and Tower, and it looked as if people were checking it out. Nobody knew what was going on so the usual speculation prevailed. I think that is what Cleveland was referencing.

Cuyahoga County: Corruption Probe
With the guilty verdict she will definitely be disbarred. The process will take 6 months to a year. I also imagine she will get some jail time. A friend of mine caught up in all of this got 6 months, and he plead guilty to lying to the FBI. Since she went to trial I imagine she will get a stiffer sentence, especially since she was a judge. My guess 1-2 years.

Cleveland: University Circle (General): Development and News
The appropriate butt kissing was done and now Johnson feels important. What a way to run a city (of course this is basically the way the world is run, especially in Washington). Glad to see it is moving forward. At present it looks like a quality project.
