you can google the headline and then read the article. Always amazed that this works when you cannot access article on Crains site when not a paid subscriber.

Cleveland: Filling in Euclid Avenue
I thought Rosetta is going into the old national city bank building. While not clear, it appears that urb-a saurus is describing the four story section of the newer NCB (now PNC) building which attaches the tower to the old section (although again not sure if that is his reference point). Don't believe Rosetta is going into that section.

Cleveland: Public Square Redesign
I worked downtown for 25 years and I am sure I was approached by panhandlers all over downtown in that time period 5000-6000 times (no exaggeration..my job had me walking around at all times of the day). Some how I survived and certainly NEVER felt threatened (and rarely gave money). And believe it or not approached by panhanlders in New York (on 5th Ave in Midtown), DC (and then some), San Fransico, Chicago, Boston, Atlanta and Miami. I also survived all of that.

Cleveland: Public Square Redesign
Thank you KJP for the most thoughtful, insightful and well reasoned post on this recent topic. My two cents...let's wait for the commission but anything "major" will top 8 figures and even minor tweaks (with which nobody will be happy) will cost 30-40 million. This $$$ will be hard to come by and quite frankly will not be considered a priority by most, no matter what people like us argue or think. Sorry to sound so negative.

I once had my car broken into at the rapid station located at Warrensville and Shaker Blvd in Shaker Hts in the shadow of mansions. It happens.

Cuyahoga County: Corruption Probe
^you are really putting the cart before the horse. Look what happen in Illinois...only guilty on one charge out of twenty and mistrial for the rest...and I am sure everybody there thought he was going to be guilty on all charges. I did following the case from a far.

Cleveland Rapid Rail Construction Projects (Non-Service Issues)
This is great news. This project really has to get moving for obvious reasons (as well as the Mayfield/120th St station). These are the two most important stations on the red line after downtown and the airport and hopefully will spur some TOD (not to mention that the Cedar Hill station and surrounding area is just a mess...the proposed plans will really enhance the area)

Cleveland: University Circle: Cleveland Clinic Developments
^The reference was not to that former grocery store which has been abandon for years but to a new one on Carnegie which is taking for ever to build. No plans for that vacant building as far as I am aware. If I recall years ago the Playhouse wanted to buy it but the owner wanted an unrealistic price.

Yeah, I thought Litt was going to tear the student center apart. Surprise, surprise.

Cleveland: University Circle: Cleveland Clinic Developments
^I think I know what you are referring to. That white blot on the landscape disfiguring an already disfigured street (which is apparently being built by two guys with a shovel and hammer since it has taken so long to complete such a simple (simply ugly) building).

Cleveland: University Circle: Cleveland Clinic Developments
As mentioned above no basement. I pass by almost every day and was surprised I never saw excavation for a basement. For some strange reason I thought a lab should have a basement...you know..."Hey Frank, go down into the basement and grab some more of that highly radioactive globby stuff". ^^^^What "grocery store"?

Cleveland: Little Italy Neighborhood Discussion
Not to mention that if anybody had the idea to assembly the land for a new development by purchasing those admittedly unattractive but functional houses, it would be a negotiating nightmare. Individual owners who have their own interests and agendas as well as, like mentioned above, an inflated value of what their house is worth. Only one or two reluctant sellers would kill any possible project. Such development would be cost prohibitive.

Cleveland: University Circle (General): Development and News
Can somebody with knowledge please explain to me what exactly happen between design committee and the later meeting of the planning commission which gave the go ahead. Even though it has the green light does that mean the significant concerns of the design committee can be ignored or do they still have to be addressed. Again, anybody with knowledge of the process in general and what exactly happen in this instance. Seems almost like a fix.

Cleveland: Cleveland Clinic News & Info
^The Clinic is currently adding a 20 million or so addition to Huron which does not suggest it is being phased out. Where is the need greatest for a trauma center. I would imagine serious gun shot wounds play a major role (along with serious car accidents). You would think the need would be greater in East Cleveland and the East Side of Cleveland as compared to Mayfield, Gates Mills and the far east side suburbs.

Cleveland Browns Discussion
"27 years old, "BUT" a lot of tread left on the tires". Please don't tell me you are implying that 27 is over the hill (even in the NFL)...if yes I am going to go out back and just shoot myself now.

what exactly does free standing mean? It is attached to the building next door and I would imagine it is connected to it as all UH building as generally connected despite the fact they are seperate buildings.

Philly Hack/Shock Writer Rips Cincinnati
In my opinion, commenting on the 'beauty' of a construction site does not exhibit much in the way of common sense in the first. So was this guy just trying to be funny and did a horrible job executing as suggested above?

Cleveland: Public Square Redesign
I understand they did much to clean up Bryant Park in the past couple of decades. I recall visiting New York in the mid 80's and walking through Bryant for the first time and being shocked. In the heart of Manhattan, right next to one of the world's greatest library, was an open drug market. It was the middle of the day and me and my female partner were openly solicited to purchase drugs by at least a dozen guys. They did nothing to hide the fact they were selling. I remember thinking "where the hell are the cops"? They could scope them up like acorns from the trees. It really was not a pleasant experience. I am glad New York saw what it had and has turned it back into a jewel (at a cost of millions I am sure).
