Cleveland: Hough: Development and News
I was wondering whatever happen with this project. I recall they were getting a little push back from the neighbors and some minor design review issues and I was thinking this might have done it in. Glad to see it might move forward.

Cleveland: Ohio City: Bridgeworks Development
The $2,000,000.00 loan from the county was approved by County Council today. Hopefully we see demo equipment on site in the not too distant future.

Cleveland: Midtown: Development and News
According to comments made at today's County Council meeting, still working on the capital stack. A county loan for $1,000,000.00 that was previously authorized was extended.

What is especially frustrating about the slow pace is that none of the planned development on the west side of Stokes (I don't know if that is considered Phase 2 or the completion of Phase 1) can begin until LL is totally complete and the MLK branch moves in.

Cleveland: Scranton Peninsula: Development and News
There are two completely different developers and developments. The Silver Hills project is closer to the river and will consist of over 300 apartments. It has been approved but it does not appear as though any real construction has begun. The NRP development is right next to it and more inland. That is the work depicted in the above photos.

Cleveland: Downtown: The Centennial (925 Euclid Redevelopment)
I think they are moving to North Point. I would have to imagine it is a somewhat new long term lease (at least ten years). It would be great to see them in Centennial. I remember the days when the easiest place to catch a taxi was in front of the Union Commerce/Huntington Building. There were always three or more cabs lined up out front at all times of day, even late into the evening, with all the well heeled law firms, accounting firms and companies located in the building.

Cleveland: Downtown: Tower City / Riverview Development
Great to see bulkhead work may start this year. Any idea who is actually paying for this work which I imagine is not a small ticket item? I would think this is something in the public realm but I am not getting that impression from the above post.

Cleveland: Downtown: The Avenue District
I cannot provide a photo but the Knez Avenue website has a good rendering of the entire site built out (kind of a sky view) that reflects all the different styles of townhomes.

Cleveland: Downtown: The Centennial (925 Euclid Redevelopment)
I tend to be a true believer in this project but I must admit it is frustrating that the starting line keeps moving (now the end of the year). At least it seems they are working hard to get it all together despite all the obstacles. It really will an incredible "mixed used" building when done.

That thing should just be KABOOMed. No accounting for taste.

I am guessing it is important to choose the correct type of trees for those planters in that location. That area does not get a ton of sun.

Didn’t Ken just report that the Browns are buying up land around their current practice facility in Berea in order to execute a major expansion?

I hope Judge Sutula is happy. The Probate Judge (I think it was Gallagher) who refused to take jurisdiction will probably read this and just shake her head.

Cleveland: Downtown: Tower City / Riverview Development
Maybe I was misinterpreting much of your and other reporters previous reporting, but it seems to me, given your reporting of the last few days, that much of my excitement over Bedrock accumulating all this property was misplaced. I certainly was under the impression that Bedrock was going to develop much of this property on its own even if it was going to take a while. Now it just looks like they are offering the property to other developers (I know it is more than that but basically that is the bottom line) or are seeking joint venture projects to lessen exposure. When you have multiple (and at this point in time unknown) parties it always extends the development process given the necessary negotiations. Maybe Bedrock learned a hard lesson in Detroit, Overall a bit disappointing. And not to be a Debbie Downer but the whole gathering public funds for the extensive needed imfastructure improvements is going to take forever and may not even be successful given all the other parties clamoring for public dollars for various projects around the town and county. Hopefully I am wrong but I have been going to the rodeo in this town for a long time.

Does that mean you think they are staying in Higbees rather than building their own building, say on the former Nucleus plot.

@KJP Any guesses as to what they are doing given their office lease situation?

Cleveland: Detroit-Shoreway / Gordon Square Arts District: Development News
Same old same old. Too dense, not enough parking, too high for the single family houses across the street, W 73rd will be turned into a speed zone, not affordable for the neighborhood. Also a fair amount of criticism of the design even after changes were made.

^This parcel and the Hessler Street gravel lot seem to be in a neck and neck competition as the most NIMBYed development properties in the city.

Cleveland: Downtown: Huntington Bank Field
Crains is reporting that the Haslams will renovate rather than replace First Energy Stadium. No dome as part of the renovation. Asserting this will be part and parcel of developing the lakefront. Renovations are 4-5 years away (starting not completion). Talking to reporters at NFL meetings.

I was actually wondering the same thing. It has been crickets since I believe they received schematic approval from PC. I don't believe they have received final approval although I might be wrong. I think they have demoed buildings on the property but that was a long time ago. There was a significant amount of neighborhood opposition including from the councilwoman and I wonder if they are licking their wounds as a result. Maybe they just gave up. Combination of opposition and increased costs. I am just speculating. Hopefully somebody on the forum has more insight. I would not be surprised if this property ended up being townhomes someday instead of apartments. Less opposition I would imagine.

Thanks for the pic. I guess I thought it would be higher by now.

Remote Work
^I follow NYC construction fairly closely and despite all the trends, for some reason, there is a fair amount of office space under construction or planned. It is true that a number of large developments are on hold or have been dropped but it still seems like a lot is going on, even if much of it was green lit before the pandemic. And all this despite the fact that a number of large players have indeed cut back on space.

Cleveland: Ohio City: Irishtown Bend Park
Thanks for the new information @KJP Given an active park is 5 or more years away and the Metroparks and not George will be building the proposed restaurant, I don't see a new building at that site for a long time. Metroparks already has a lot on its plate and I am thinking such a building (that maybe they were coerced into) will not be a priority unless the proposed settlement establishes a mandatory time line.

Cleveland: Ohio City: Irishtown Bend Park
Whatever the terms of the deal are I hope it does not include any room for parking. Not even a spot for George (especially not a spot for George). The last thing this jewel of a park needs is a parking lot at at this key vantage point.

I disagree. I believe it was a strong case and if it was in Probate Court where it belonged the matter would have probably been decided by now and in favor of the Port.
