Cleveland: Ohio City: INTRO (Market Square / Harbor Bay Development)
Just a small taste of the interiors but with the wood and floor to ceiling glass very much in contrast to your typical 4 story rectangle apartment building going up all over town (or should I say all over the nation).

Cleveland: Shaker Square: Development and News
Discouraging that so much stimulus money is going to pay off a bank/lender due to a private owners mismanagement. However, I guess that is a necessary evil and a first step towards fixing the mess. Hopefully the county and foundations will step up so the basic stabilization can occur (sounds like they are already on board or I doubt the city would be wasting the stimulus money). Still it is disappointing that any "grand plans" for the square are still just far away dreams. Again, baby steps.

Does the article explain how much of the 12 million would go towards the ownership transition and how much could goes towards renovations?

At least the architecture is finally getting better

Great reporting Ken and great news about the added jobs and consolidation on main campus. That surgery center building will not be missed.

That should be a hit in that location.

Cleveland: Scranton Peninsula: Development and News
Comments from design review..."lowest common denominator building"...."not a lot of research" of site....did not "consider the context, the river, bridges, city skyline and industrial legacy". Again not surprised by this given Edwards portfolio. Seems like what they know is cookie cutter suburban apartments and just want to plop one of those down on the peninsula.

Cleveland: Scranton Peninsula: Development and News
I was curious and took just a quick look at Edwards Communities website, Looks like most of their developments are bland suburban stuff built on green fields (although looks like a couple of exceptions but again did not explore in detail at this point) and this seems to be what they know.

I guess it was tabled by design so no vote today. Surprise expressed that this was Dimits work as it is usually so much better.

Not surprised by this and I guess I am in the camp that says good for them. I hope it results in some major changes. Curious what their specific complaints are.

Cleveland Heights: Development and News
It has been mentioned/discussed/acknowledged at the last two city council meetings and is already being investigated and as @Foraker suggested above it may be determined that it is not that big an issue.

If this is a cheaper version of the Edison then it is really in trouble.

Cleveland: Scranton Peninsula: Development and News
I am on board with opinions that the design is mundane for such an important site with so much potential and indeed looks like a senior assisted living complex in Beachwood. I am not looking for cutting edge but definitely something more urban. There are two major river front projects being developed in Chicago right now on old industrial land (Lincoln Yards to the north and the 78 on the south branch). I know both of these are huge projects by large well financed developers in a city that can command higher rents, and any Scranton development cannot really compare, but the conceptual architecture for those two big projects is what I would like to see for this site.

Cleveland: Little Italy: Development and News
What I was getting at was that Michael was the judge in the Little Italy lawsuit not Joe so no possible conflict of interest if David Watson was/is a friend of his. My original post was in response to your response to Posh Steve's post if any of that makes sense.

I don't think so. At least I do not believe Joe is related to Basil. Russo is a very common Italian sur name.

Cleveland: Scranton Peninsula: Development and News
Well Design Review and the Planning Commission tore apart the NRP proposal (much to their surprise). Maybe they have the energy for a second go around.

New York City (Manhattan, Roosevelt Island, Circle Line Ferry)
Well there are some newer forum members who need some talkin too but nobody as qualified to do it.

Cleveland: Downtown: nuCLEus
My take on Stark's don't blame us finger pointing comments. If you are a developer that doesn't understand the market conditions you are dealing with or cannot figure out a way to overcome them then you should not be making grand announcements about what you intend to do in the first place.

I was surprised the first time I was at United Center. The shear amount of surface parking surrounding the arena. Especially given it was Chicago.

Cleveland Heights: Development and News
College Club is just a fantastic development. Both the for sale town homes and rentals in the old clubhouse.

Cleveland: Little Italy: Development and News
For those misguided people who fought the Baricelli apartment development claiming it was going to destroy the historic fabric of the neighborhood...please compare the two houses next door to the apartment and explain to me which of the three buildings are improving the neighborhood. Keep up your properties and don't slowly destroy them with cheap alterations and maybe you have an argument.

Thanks for the update pics. Still crickets on Library Lofts site.
