  1. 5th floor out door space should be a big selling point
  2. You are probably correct on that score. Wonder what the question is?
  3. Has the primary architect ever been revealed? I may have missed it.
  4. I get the impression @YABO713 was referencing the actual mortgage industry and it's strong presence in town not individual homeowners.
  5. *Like I said, no inside information just a gut feeling. Things like it taking so long to enter the city approval pipeline, KJP mentioning that they had to sell something in another city to go ahead with this project (sounds like a company on a bit of shaky financial footing), the pandemic and maybe some thinking, with all the projects going forward and proposed downtown, in the Flats, Ohio City, UC and the Heights that the apartment tipping point might be near (which I don't know is the case but I am sure the discussion is being had) and some of the more shaky projects maybe are being reconsidered. I cannot emphasize enough, just a feeling.
  6. I may be wrong but I don't believe it has even been to Design Review yet for schematic approval let alone final. I have nothing to base this on other than 15 years on this board and a lifetime in Cleveland seeing projects proposed and not get built but my gut says this is one of the new construction proposals that may not happen. Hope I am wrong. I hate that lot and it is one of the last pieces of the puzzle between Public Square and Playhouse Square (along with 925 Euclid).
  7. I never quite understood the need for a massive, over sized bedroom, even a master, if you have a good sized walk in closet. What exactly are people doing in these huge bedrooms...playing touch football. With a nice walk in closet all I need in a bedroom is a bed, nightstand and a smallish chair to put my socks and shoes and and throw clothes on at night if I am too tired to hang things up.
  8. There are so many things wrong with this building but, yeah, what's the story with what looks like a cinder block wall.
  9. I want to see Steve Litt review it after it is completed. That should be LOTS of fun.
  10. I know the new CIM building has not been a fan favorite on the board from day one. Issues with the design and the fact that they tore down an old house as part of the project. I personally did not have a problem with the initial renderings but about a month ago I drove by to see the finished product in person and was not overwhelmed. The first floor seems to mimic the main CIM building but the upper floors seem just like the generic design and construction we are seeing all over the place (not just Cleveland but nationwide). I expected to be more impressed. Would have liked to have seen a great mid century modern design on the site with a brickwork and glass similar to the main building. At least we go rid of another ugly parking lot.
  11. Don't want to spin this off topic but I am curious...what is the least used heavy rail line in the nation.
  12. That "pretty picture" has been floating around for awhile. Like others said, not a real thing.
  13. I thought, per a KJP clarification, that Wolstein doesn't really have much, or anything, to do with that Nautica project, at least not at this point.
  14. thanks
  15. This viaduct apartment building was on the Planning Commission agenda for schematic approval today but there was no presentation for some reason. Anybody know why it was dropped or did not go forward? Did something negative happen at Design Review yesterday? I did miss the first half hour of the meeting so maybe it jumped the agenda for some reason.
  16. you know accidents happen
  17. Like the slight dig at Tony George in the last paragraph. I hope what ever governmental entity responsible for land acquisition for the project does not over pay for that parcel he owns and even better it turns into an eminent domain action. As I have argued before, George more or less established the fair market price with his purchase of the building in 2018 (with knowledge of the project) so in the end it should be a wash. In fact I hope he loses money due to attorneys fees and a few years of property taxes on a building creating no revenue.

I have a vivid memory of Jane Fonda of all people doing the tomahawk chop when she was married to Ted Turner
  19. Funny. When I viewed this picture yesterday for the first time the same thought popped in my head...I hoped the city was not going to be responsible for the maintenance of the landscaping in the circle. Also kinda sad that we both had the same reaction.

You're right. Incredible. We're talking about almost 25 miles in that pic from Lakewood to Eaton in Chagrin Highlands. Even farther given the pic was taken well west of Lakewood.
  21. You probably mean Ameritrust but I am no sure it is actually depicted on that piece.
  22. Thanks for the pics. Especially enjoyed Forest Hills. I am constantly amazed by Metro New York's love affair with cheap awnings used primarily as signage.
  23. Just as side note...funny little story. I was chatting with my niece's boyfriend at a cookout this past weekend and asked him when and if his company's offices where going to open and if he was tired of working from home. During the course of the conversation he mentioned how sometimes he will forgo his usual shorts and tee shirt and get dressed up by putting a polo shirt on. I kind of paused and smirked and told him I thought it was cute that he thought wearing a polo shirt was getting dressed up to go to work. I was of course being a smart ass but he got a laugh out it. He knows I am from a different generation (one that wore a suit to the office every day) and I have a well earned reputation in the family of being a curmudgeon when it comes to appropriate dress.
  24. ^the fact that they will find it necessary to have retreats to promote morale suggests to me that it is a problematic decision. Clearly many companies that will do this are viewing this as a cost saving measure and are fortunate to hide behind the virus in doing so. Hopefully they will pass on these savings to their employees in the form of raises. What do you think the odds of that will be?
  25. Boy that building just becomes even more of a disappointment as it gets further and further along. I thought the renderings were bad but the real life product is just a wart on the landscape. Especially hating what I am guessing are air conditioning vents for each individual unit.
