Cleveland: University Circle: Circle Square
Definitely. Probably for the demolition of that former automotive business which has already been approved by the city. The former district police station in the background (also approved for demo) is probably next.

Cleveland: University Circle: Circle Square
I just wish this project would get started as it is so transformative. The planning for this started in 2015 and still has months to go before construction begins. If this was Stark we would be all over this project moaning and groaning. Of course Midwest gets a small pass since it has to coordinate with the library and it appears the library's architects maybe the ones holding things up, at least in connection with the Library Lofts part of the project (I think I read something on a library website that they hope to get going in March). Reading between the lines it looks as though any construction on the east side of 107th may be a long time coming, so it maybe years before the project has a complete dense neighborhood feel.

Cleveland: Duck Island: Development and News
I have lots of egg all over my face. When I created my one and only thread about 3-4 years ago asking what project in development would be first and why I had the Brickhaus project as number one. My only solace is that a number of other posters agreed at the time. I have confidence something will eventually get built here. The views are too good.

Cleveland: Downtown: Tower City / Riverview Development
Salesforce is building or going to be a tenant in a huge building at Wolfe Point on the Chicago river which is probably going to break ground next year.

Cleveland: Ohio City: Development and News
And on that note I am still trying to find out what happen at the same (Nov 11th) Board of Zoning Appeals Hearing in connection with the Washington Inn apartment building on Cornell (challenge to Landmarks approval of the project). I don't understand why the results are not posted on the Boards website just the agenda.

Cleveland: Ohio City: Development and News
On the subject of Ohio City NIMBY's, does anyone know what happen at the Nov. 11th Board of Zoning Appeals hearing regarding the Knez townhouse project at 4705 Bridge Avenue? I note that one of the block club members listed above (Steven Zamborsky) was one of the people challenging the Planning Commissions approval of that project. Some people apparently have a lot of time on their hands.

More concerning in my mind is if the ward councilperson (don't know who it is here) tends to bow down to groups like this (for obvious political reasons), no matter how irrational their arguments or how little influence they actually have with the other voters in the ward, as the project proceeds through the review process. That usually seems to be the big problems for developers throughout the city.

Cleveland Rapid Rail Construction Projects (Non-Service Issues)
Ken I have a question relating to possible capital improvements on the red line. For more than 15 years I was a regular rider of the Shaker Rapid (4 out of 5 days a week) but for a variety of reasons (work location, needing a car more often during the day and parking attached to my building and paid by my employer) I pretty much stopped. My entire life, very infrequent rider of the red line (maybe 20 times). About two years ago I made a trip to Denver and took the red line from the airport to the University Circle/Cedar stop. Probably first time in almost 15 years. I was very disappointed in the ride and service for a number of reasons I won't get into (especially after having experienced the newer light rail line from the Denver airport the same day). My most significant concern was the ride. The car seemed to sway way more than I thought appropriate (even at slow speeds which unfortunately was way too often) and more than my experience with other systems. Was this just my imagination? I grant it could have been. If not, is this a rolling stock issue or a track issue?

Cleveland: Little Italy: Development and News
Still trying to learn what happened with both of these projects at the Nov. 11 Board of Zoning Appeals. Anyone? Anyone? Bueller? I tried calling the Board yesterday and got voicemail which I thought was strange. You would think the various agencies could get together and afford a receptionist.

Cleveland: Random Development and News
My take is that they are a "Class B" developer. They don't get me too excited.

Cleveland: Downtown: Skyline 776 (City Club Apartments)
Any idea what's driving the delay?

Cleveland: Outlet Mall Proposal for Lakefront
I would be more upset except for the fact that I don't think it has a snowball's chance in hell of happening.

Cleveland: Downtown: Sherwin-Williams Headquarters
This from the guy who said it was too cold to come to Cleveland.?
-
Cleveland: Downtown: May Company Building
I don't know what the brackets are but the Park Building was turned into condos in the past 10 years or so. I guess one would consider that work a restoration.

Cleveland: Little Italy: Development and News
I know I am being a forum nag but does anybody have any news regarding the Board of Zoning appeals decision regarding this project. Also, I think a challenge to the to the project at Lorain and E. 47th was on the same agenda.

Cleveland Browns Discussion
I haven't see anybody mention this yet but wasn't a Steeler trying to kick Garrett in the head when he was lying in the end zone?

Cleveland: Historic Photos
PNC (National City) not Huntington (Union Commerce back then). It was actually a semi trashy stretch on Cleveland's major north south route. However, as a little kid I always looked forward to passing the Roxy and marveling at those "ladies".

Maybe somebody should attach some sort of abortion restriction to the bill. That will get it moving.?

Cleveland: Cleveland Clinic News & Info
I disagree with your statement that the Clinic does not care about Cleveland. You clearly have a strong opinion to the contrary which is fine.

I guess I disagree and also disagree.

Like you said, what you describe is not a HQ re-location but a large expansion of the existing system which is common, makes sense and could only help its primary facilities in NE Ohio with additional sources of revenue.

Cleveland: Downtown: New Police Headquarters
And lots of landscaping which the city will fail to maintain similar to the District HQ Building on Chester.
-
Cleveland: Downtown: New Police Headquarters
Sorry you got it all wrong. Per the rumor in the Cleveland Clinic thread the police department is moving to Ft. Lauderdale and will be next door to the Clinic which is moving its headquarters there.
