  1. OK I want to play too. Based on @KJP's previous posts and the one above I am going to guess the LOCATION of this "whatever" mega project will be at the end of Mall C where Progressive was suppose to go way back when.
  2. If you want a nice "gap filler" from that vantage point imagine something about 40 stories tall on the Jacobs lot.
  3. So no ground breaking this January as previously announced? I love all the planning and talking we do in connection with the lakefront. Heaven forbid something actual gets built.
  4. I know this might be a long shot but did anybody attend todays Board of Zoning Appeal hearing in connection with the proposed apartment next to the Washington Inn on Cornell or know what happen?
  5. And by the way, I made this information known in a conference call for investors. So far my stock has gone up a penny. Subsequently I got this weird voice mail message from somebody at the SEC. I haven't returned the call yet.
  6. I want to "go on the record" as well and let the public know that I am also in the running for the headquarters as I have offered them land in my backyard. I was told they were in the very early stages of searching and that Topeka Kansas was also in the running but they would send over a soil boring machine to get samples in any event.
  7. 1. Ameritrust was never located in those two buildings (maybe a branch in the ground floor of one of them at one time but not even sure of that). It's headquarters were at east ninth and Euclid (now Heinens and the 9). They were planning to move to the Jacobs lot in a more than 50 story building (Jacobs was to be the developer and got stuck with the lot when Ameritrust merged with Society (now Key)). 2. Like @Mov2Ohio said, if people are suggesting that the two foundations of those old short building (which again had no connection to Ameritrust) could be incorporated into a new build of the SWH headquarters, I don't know how that would be possible or why you would want to do it.
  8. I am actually confused by your post. Like May Day said there was no construction on the Jacobs lot at all after demolition of the previous buildings in the early 90s. Are you referring to the foundations of the old buildings which I agree might still be there and would have to be dealt with when excavation begins.
  9. Does anybody have an information regarding the current status of the Snavely Cedar Lee project? When it was first awarded and the concept spelled out it seemed to have a pretty aggressive (perhaps unrealistic) timeline. Since then things have been noticeably quiet (although I know much of the current focus is directed toward Top of the Hill with its first quarter 2020 ground breaking)
  10. This seems to have been a curious design mistake from day one. I cannot tell you how many times during rush hour I would be flying down 1-480 westbound with no problem and then hit that point and it was a cluster f#@k and then once you passed it smooth sailing again.
  11. If I recall they were just regular office buildings. Very special, especially the Cuyahoga. I would have rather that they had stayed and Sohio had built on what is now the Jacobs lot instead.
  12. It was a couple of old multi tenant buildings that had been "modernized" with some awful cladding (see picture @MayDay posted in this thread pre cladding). I remember there were lots of sole practitioner lawyers in the building sharing office space since it was so close to court. I am confused by your referenced to the county administration building imploded for Sohio? Where was it? I recall the Cuyahoga and Williamson Buildings being the primary tear downs and a great loss.
  13. The last thing the Heights needs is more retail.
  14. Not only that but there are multi specialized ancillary spaces (for example a secure underground garage space to transport prisoners) as well as things like separate elevator banks for judges, juries and prisoners among things. Also, I imagine contemporary courthouse design involves unique ways to handle public access security (unlike what was thrown up at the Justice Center after 9/11 with folding tables and the like). Any large court house project today is a specialized building.
  15. Isn't the Realife thing in the grave (not that anybody really thought it was something that was actually going to happen in the first place)
  16. It has been 29 years. I venture to guess that some members of this forum were not even born yet. I was getting to the point that I would have welcomed a McDonald's with a drive thru so long as something was built on that lot.
  17. Oh boy I hope you know something. Centennial Building. Right in the middle of things and good synergy with Heinens across the street.
  18. In addition to the better and more relevant sourcing his analysis is much better and he is doing a nicer job of putting the information he has in context. It just more complete reporting including a few bits that might not make us happy (but again put into context better so it does not seem like he is just blurting out negatives).
  19. In the past couple of weeks Stan's reporting on this project has become 100% better.
  20. Agree 100%. The only down side is that Euclid was a much better shopping district back then.
  21. By the way, does anybody have any information on the individuals and company behind the appeal. Do they have any clout? Do we know the current position of the Little Italy CDC or the ward councilperson?
  22. Yeah I just checked and saw that. I might try and attend,
  23. Aren't they going in front of the Board of Zoning appeals on Nov. 11? Are the permits conditional? I keep looking for the agenda (probably will be posted after the Nov. 4 hearings( as I am confused as to whether this has to do with an appeal of Landmarks past approval of the project or is in connection with some of the variances they need to start construction (or perhaps both).
  24. @kjp...at one time weren't you hinting at some "secret" development along the south side of St. Clair between 3rd and 6th? Am I getting this right? If I am is that no more.
  25. If I recall correctly from way back then there was a good amount of opposition to the TC site on this board. I think a lot of it had to do with the design and the feeling that this huge edifice was going to loom over the river.
