Cleveland: Retail News
Well, there is a Shake Shack. Now that Euclid has been transformed, Prospect should be next. That is the the part of downtown that visitors attending events at Progressive Field, RMFH and Wolstein Center are seeing.

Cleveland: Retail News
I wonder if 9th & Euclid was the best location for a grocery store. Would another location have been better?

Cleveland: Downtown: Sherwin-Williams Headquarters
I'm sure SHW was more concerned about making a functional building rather than its skyline appearance. But perhaps it could have been tapered a bit towards the top so only the upper floors would have smaller floor plates.

Cleveland Guardians Discussion
In 1997, the Indians were down 2 games to 1 vs. the Yankees and won the next 2 games to win the series. So perhaps it will be deja vu all over again. Of course, they will need to find a way to score some runs.

Cleveland: Retail News
Before heading to the ballgame last Saturday, we stopped in at around 11:30 am. Only a handful of people were in there. The hot food section was not yet open. Is it not open on the weekend? I figured there would be more activity with 30K+ people in the vicinity.

Ohio Congressional Redistricting / Gerrymandering
There will still be gerrymandering if issue 1 passes. It will just be done by an unelected commission whose members can never be removed.

"Jun 25ColDayMan changed the title to Cleveland: Downtown: Medical Mutual HQ Renovation" Should the title be Rose Building Renovation?

^ That is my recollection as well. I'm sure someone will be able to dig up an old photo. My mom was born there.

Cleveland / Northeast Ohio: "What If/Hypothetical/Dream" Construction and Projects Discussion
And how adding a rail/trolley museum. There was a group hoping to do that several years ago after Trolleyville USA closed, but they were unable to find a suitable location. I believe many of the trolley cars ended up in Lodi.

Cleveland: Downtown: Tower City / Riverview Development
A tower on the nuCLEus site would probably fill the gap on the left of 200 PS from that vantage point.

Cleveland: Downtown Office Buildings Updates
Cleveland seemed to embrace Brutalism in the 60s/early 70s. I suppose that was the case in other cities as well.

Cleveland Hopkins International Airport
The $3B price tag is based on the completion of all phases of the master plan which will probably take a couple decades. So I assume they are factoring in inflation. Each phase is based on passenger levels. I am I bit skeptically about all phases being completed even if CLE reaches those passenger levels.

Cleveland: Hotels, Conventions, and Tourism News & Info
In hindsight, it might have been wise if Forest City developed Tower City on a smaller scale with two levels instead of three.

Cleveland: Crime & Safety Discussion
In some cases, events have been canceled. In Garfield Heights, home days and St. Monica carnival are no longer held.
-
Cleveland: Crime & Safety Discussion
In a way, it has. Many suburban home days and church festivals have been disrupted in recent years by unruly mobs.
-
Cleveland: Crime & Safety Discussion
Agreed. As soon as they see police, they scatter like cockroaches. They need to find a way to prevent these events from getting started.

Cleveland: Hotel Development
The problem with Bedrock riverfront is that anything built there will not likely be skyline changing due to the lower elevation. IMO the best location is the former nuCLEus site. I believe it is now the largest parking crater in CBD, it is shovel ready and it would fill a gap in the skyline between the towers at Public Square and those on E 9th.
