Cleveland: Suburban Crime & Safety Discussion
Seems irresponsible for the police chief to say "I think these church festivals are a thing of the past". The festivals are big money makers for the churches. Are they supposed to stop having them because we can't get our youth under control?

Cleveland: Lakefront Development and News
Regardless of location, Burke is an under-utilized airport. As is Hopkins. As is Canton-Akron. Seems like one needs to go. And Burke is the odd man out.

I was referring to CSU Vikings. I think they average < 2,000.

Cleveland: Downtown: Huntington Bank Field
So maybe they just do a simple, less costly pedestrian bridge initially?

Cleveland: Downtown: Huntington Bank Field
Shoreway reconfiguration and land bridge will cost hundreds of millions. IMO I doubt they proceed with that until something gets built on the lakefront.

Or they could go back to Woodling Gym.

Cleveland: Lakefront Development and News
Unlikely. If it was an advantage, other cities would have airports close to downtown. And Cleveland would not have lost so many businesses over the last 50 years.

Cleveland: Downtown: Huntington Bank Field
^^ And shoreway reconfiguration and land bridge would get put on back burner.

Cleveland: Public Hall
It's not an ideal venue for basketball, but it should be OK for a G league team that will most likely be playing before small crowds. During the Kevin Mackey era, before the Convocation Center (aka Woltein Center) was built, the CSU Vikings played some games there when a significant crowd was expected. I'm pretty sure they added floor level seating.

Cleveland: Public Hall
It is a 34 game schedule,so there will be 17 home games for the Charge at Public Auditorium.

I believe Steris and Eaton are the only two. Not sure where Steris ranks.

I thought some significant upgrades were done at Public Hall not too long ago.

Cleveland: Downtown Office Buildings Updates
So if more folks are living downtown and their office is also downtown, do they still need to work from home if they can just walk down the street to the office?

Cleveland: Lakefront Development and News
Can't tell from the image, but it seems like there will be a bit of a slope on E 9th from the bridge over the rail tracks to the intersection with the new shoreway blvd.

Cleveland: Downtown Office Buildings Updates
Another residential conversion? Good grief. If most buildings downtown are residential, is that a good thing? I don't think so.

Cleveland: Lakefront Development and News
Has a decision been made yet on the shoreway or is it still being studied? And has anyone provided cost estimates on the various options? My ramp closure idea would be if they decide to basically keep the shoreway as-is.

Cleveland: Lakefront Development and News
i wonder if it would be possible to close the shoreway eastbound exit and westbound entrance at E 9th? There is already an eastbound exit and westbound entrance at Lakeside near W 6th. Would that make E 9th a little more pedestrian friendly?

Cleveland: Downtown: Gateway District: Development and News
The former nuCLEus site (we need to come up with a better name) is the next one I'd like to see developed. As I stated upthread, I believe it is now the largest parking crater in the CBD. A tallish tower on that site would help revitalize a part of downtown that is looking rather shabby. And it would fill the gap in the skyline between the big boys at Public Square and those along E 9th.

^ Let's hope so. That is probably the largest parking crater in the CBD.

Cleveland: Crime & Safety Discussion
Many of those fleeing from the police are juveniles, some aren't even old enough to be driving. 99% of the time, it is a stolen vehicle. And many of those are carjacked, which must be a traumatic experience for the victim. Even when caught, are there any significant consequences for these juveniles? I'm guessing the answer is no. Perhaps if those caught were to face mandatory jail time, it might be a deterrent. If not pursued, our cities would turn into the wild west. Some may argue that has already happened. I did ask a police officer about using drones for pursuit, but I was told they are not fast enough.

Another crane! Woo hoo!

Cleveland: Downtown: Sherwin-Williams Headquarters
But that will be partially obscured if/when tower 2 is built. That is the problem In Cleveland. The handful of tall towers stand out. Whereas in a city like Toronto with dozens of tall towers, they all blend in together.
