  1. So Cliffs won't be moving HQ to Pittsburgh. That's good
  2. Won't the city be losing out on income tax from the players if/when they start playing in Brook Park?
  3. Did Cleveland get anything in return from Brook Park for swapping the property north of Brookpark Rd with all the strip clubs/adult bookstores?
  4. The former hotel at 3614 Euclid is about 60 years old. Is it worth saving? It might be best to demo it and build something new on the site.
  5. I believe there were a couple options for roadway revisions presented in the recent master plan, but I don't think one was selected. The spur from I-71 was one of the options. Another option had the section of SR-237 at CLE rerouted to the east.
  6. Jack Benny was from Waukegan. I assume there is a statue of him there.

I know they are a young team, but this is now the 4th year in a row they have had an early exit from the playoffs. The Cavs seem to be lacking the physical and mental toughness for a deep playoff run. Hopefully, they can work on strength and endurance during the off-season.
  8. A poster in another forum said Air Canada is using gate C10.

Having 16 teams participating in the playoffs is ridiculous. The top 8 would be enough .That would reduce the injury factor. But sadly it will never happen due to the almighty dollar.
  10. Maybe they demolish B and extend A and C into the empty space with new gates on the west side. Of course there would still be some empty space. My preference is for new concourses in the next phase. If D is ever re-opened, they could keep parking on one side and just have gates on the other side. I've been to airports where gates are only on one side of the concourse.

IIRC, the Cavs were down 2-0 to the Pistons several years ago and they ended up winning the next 4 games. Of course that was in the LeBron era. Not sure they are capable of doing that now.
  12. I agree. There will be a lot of available space after the old terminal is demolished. Maybe they can extend the existing concourses into that space and add a few more gates.
  13. Same here. If I am still living, I will likely be in assisted living and no longer flying.
  14. After watching the phasing video, it looks like it will be a long walk to B concourse after the old terminal is demolished. It will require taking a walkway to either A or C, then another walkway to B. But perhaps they will reconfigure the concourses when they get to the next phase. If they could construct tunnels from the new terminal to the concourses, that would eliminate the walkways which would open up more space and might allow for a few more gate to be added at the existing concourses. It's funny they are still showing D concourse at end of phasing. I wonder if that means it will not be demolished?
  15. I believe one of the purposes of the new skin was for bomb-proofing. Is that no longer a concern for federal buildings?
  16. I agree. And I think the original $2B price tag for all phases is probably about $3B now.
  17. I had preferred they move to the old Plain Dealer building. They would have been in there by now.

  19. The building on the left the one that Stark was going to modify with a few more floors added on top. I was not very fond of that idea.
  20. Is the grand ballroom used very often? Are the windows really that important? Doesn't the new addition (Med Mart) also have a ballroom?

  22. ^ OK, but Cleveland also has the IX Center for larger events. I wonder how frequently peer cities like Cbus and Indy have conventions/events that require all that space?
  23. I believe the added square footage puts the convention center closer to the size of convention centers in neighboring cities such as Columbus, Indy, etc. And the .25% sales tax increase also funded the construction of the Hilton hotel.

But, but, but, we've been told Cleveland is not a hockey town.
  25. I assume they are keeping the water tank on the roof.
