  1. And so it begins... https://www.cleveland.com/guardians/2024/02/guardians-reliever-sidelined-with-elbow-bruise-reports.html
  2. ^^ Another tourist attraction would be nice. Several years ago, there was a group planning to build a world-class aquarium on the lakefront. Apparently, those plans ended when Jacobs converted the powerhouse into a little aquarium. https://www.cleveland.com/metro/2010/01/another_developer_floats_a_cle.html
  3. Or dock a cruise ship at the harbor. 😀
  4. Apparently, Kansas City just opened their new terminal last year. I'm sure the renovated CLE will look nicer, but it will likely not be on par with other peer cities that have been able to build new facilities. One thing that worries me is the project will be done in phases with each phase commencing only when CLE reaches certain passenger levels. It could take 20+ years to complete all phases.
  5. Went ice skating on the plaza, must have been winter 64-65.
  6. Nice. I just wish Frontier did more daily flights instead of 3x or 4x.
  7. There's the Transport Rd site that was considered for the new jail, but I don't know if it would be suitable for a stadium.
  8. Any idea how many are employed there? City is also losing income tax for employees of SHW research center, Medical Mutual, county jail and maybe others that I am forgetting.
  9. Well, maybe they could spread things out a little more so it's not so cluttered. Or perhaps something envisioned in the master plan might be more suitable in the space currently occupied by the stadium.
  10. @KJP any idea how much of the Brookpark site USPS will occupy if they move there? Will there be space remaining for airport related use such as rental car facility, long-term parking, hotel, etc?
  11. So the lakefront master plan will need to be revised due to the additional available space. And I assume the land bridge and shoreway reconfiguration would be less urgent with no stadium on the lakefront.
  12. A shame it is always Cleveland/Cuyahoga County residents paying for the sports venues. It would be nice to get folks in the surrounding counties to pony up for a change.
  13. That would be awesome. I know Bedrock wants to focus on the riverfront, but I'm hoping the nuCLEus site will be the next to be developed downtown. It is such a huge parking crater, even larger now that the neighboring parking garage has been removed. And a tallish tower on that site would fill another gap in the skyline.
  14. Is the Bedrock site ready for development or do they first need to finish work on the bulkheads?
  15. I don't have mock-up skills, but maybe a re-skinned Justice Center could look something like the AECOM Building at E 9th & St Clair. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AECOM_Building
  16. That was going to be the Delta Hotel. I was a bit leery about that project. The building dates back to 1964 and I assume is not in very good shape.
  17. Hopefully. the Browns will be participants in the post-season for the foreseeable future. It would be rather disheartening if they had to play "home" post-season games elsewhere.
  18. Assuming it will be new construction, what are the likely sites? One of the surface lots in the Warehouse District? The nuCLEus site? Bedrock riverfront site? NY Spaghetti House site?
  19. I would think so if they plan on opening in 2026.

It is a nice shot, even though not current. The typical shot the networks use from Flats West Bank looks like there are only a handful of buildings downtown.
  21. Rainbow colors on Terminal Tower. Isn't it normally lit with wine & gold when the Cavs are playing?

    How old?
  23. The proposed CHEERS project might be similar, but on a smaller scale.
