  1. ^ Supposedly in phase one of master plan, but several years before it will be available.

Great! That will be a nice upgrade from their current home which is at a rec center.
  3. ^ Perhaps due to Easter being in March last year?
  4. I'm glad the "shipping containers" are gone, but I'm a bit bothered by the empty gap under the roof in that area. Maybe some panels or banners there would improve the look.
  5. What is supposed to be in the round structure? It would be nice if it was clad to match the rest of the building, but I dunno if that's the plan.
  6. Cleveland did have several local individuals with deep pockets - Richard Jacobs, Bart Wolstein, Albert Ratner, Sam Miller, Al Lerner, Peter Lewis, etc. Sadly, they are all gone now.
  7. It's kind of a shame that we have to rely on an out-of-towner like Dan Gilbert to get any major development done in Cleveland.

I usually listen to Gardening with Angelo at 8:00 am every Saturday morning on WTAM. He has lots of good tips.

I have been planting Nasturtiums for several years. Deer don't bother them.
  10. I worked at Cook from 1975 - 1987. I don't remember the fire. It must have happened prior to my time there.
  11. And don't forget Giant Tiger, later rebranded as Gaylord's. That entire shopping center across from RPM was occupied by Cook United subsidiaries - Uncle Bill's, Pick-N-Pay, JP Snodgrass, Record Theater, Sound Chamber and Stratford Jewelers, a catalogue order store.
  12. Perhaps. But whenever that happens, most of us will be gone.
  13. ^ Correct. Every big city I visit has lots of new glass towers. And a few more under construction. Cleveland skyline looks a bit stodgy by comparison.
  14. And then they will spend an eternity deliberating over the two sites.
  15. I thought they already narrowed down sites several months ago.
  16. The proposed Dome site would be ideal for additional parking. Just sayin'.

    And closer to Denison.
  18. Well, Cleveland/NE Ohio desperately needs something big. And this would be big.
  19. I agree. Enplaning and deplaning would go a lot faster if fewer passengers had a carry on bag. And it would also reduce congestion in the seating area at the gate.
  20. The fountains were removed because of constant issues with water leaking into the convention center below.
  21. Hey, how about a high roller wheel too?
  22. It will be sad to see it demolished. It seems to fill a niche for events that need a venue larger than one of the auditoriums but not as large as Rocket Arena. And Rocket Arena is a busy place with not very many open dates. I suppose men's basketball could move back to Woodling Gym or Public Hall. I assume the new, smaller arena proposed by CSU a couple years ago is no longer feasible due to their financial situation.
  23. Ah, I thought you meant this. 😀
  24. How are the restroom renovations coming along?
  25. I assume the project will also remove this wall which is way too close to the roadway.
