Cleveland: Slavic Village: Development and News
It's a shame that the area has lost most of its Slavic flavor over the last couple decades. I used to enjoy attending the street festival on Fleet every summer. It was very sad to see all the vacant buildings on Fleet the last time I drove through a couple years ago. It would be nice if the city could try to lure some Ukrainian refugees to the area.

That was a dumb move by the Cavs.

Hopefully some spare coin to acquire a couple players that can hit.

Cleveland: Downtown: The Avenue District
When it first opened, the fountain area was converted to an ice rink for the winter. I went ice skating there once.

Cleveland Burke Lakefront Airport
Cleveland can't keep the both the stadium AND Burke on the lakefront. One has to go. And it appears that the stadium is staying put.

Cleveland: Downtown: Skyline 776 (City Club Apartments)
Let's keep it going. There are plenty of other available sites.

Cleveland Browns Discussion
Good grief. The dogs should have been put to sleep years ago.

Cleveland: Downtown: Skyline 776 (City Club Apartments)
I believe it was pointed out earlier in this thread that the rendering is oriented incorrectly. It should be showing buildings to the south in the background, such as AT&T. I assume part of CIty Club will be visible from Progressive Field.

Cleveland: Lakefront Development and News
No, not at all. The post I was responding to seemed to indicate that if a land bridge is built, it will provide incentive to develop the lakefront. Maybe it will, but there is no guarantee, especially if it is competing with Bedrock's development plan at Tower City and also if the stadium is going to remain there. I've been around a long time and I have seen a lot of development plans that never happened.

Cleveland: Lakefront Development and News
The "build it and they will come" philosophy. Wasn't the waterfront line supposed to do that?

Cleveland: Lakefront Development and News
Well, there was a pedestrian connection at one time, but apparently it was deemed unsafe. I doubt very many people are walking from Public Square to the Rock Hall. Most are probably parking at the Science Center garage or one of the parking garages on E 9th. The Waterfront Line would be a good way to get to the Rock Hall from Public Square, if it was running. I know E 9th is not very pedestrian friendly, but there are options available to change that.

Cleveland: Downtown: Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Expansion
Maybe I'm confused, but when they first started talking about expansion a few years ago, I thought the plan was to do it all underground.

Cleveland: Downtown: Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Expansion
And they inducted Dolly Parton last year. Since they insist on having such a large induction class every year, I suppose they need to induct performers from other genres. Perhaps it will make sense to eventually change it to pop music hall of fame.

Cleveland: Downtown: Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Expansion
Perhaps it would have been better if the the rock hall had been built at the original location at tower city. IMO it was a mistake moving it to the harbor without significantly redesigning it.
-
Cleveland: Downtown: Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Expansion
If they need more space for offices, maybe they should use the tower for that purpose which IMO seems to be a waste currently.

Cleveland: Downtown: Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Expansion
Yes, it is Pei's fault. An impressive structure for sure, but not very functional. Other than making the entrance a little closer, I don't really see how this addition is going to make much of a difference from a visitor perspective since I assume most of the exhibits will still be on the lower level. I share your concern @Ethan about waiting a bit until the land bridge and shoreway/roadway reconfiguration plans are finalized before forging ahead with expansion to ensure that everything ties together nicely.

Wasn't there supposed to be a bar or restaurant called Hippodrome?

Well, we got the Bond store first, then National City.
