  1. And then there is Bedrock's plan for the riverfront which is a lot of development costing a lot of money. Is it realistic to think all this development will come to fruition?
  2. They would have to repair the existing bridge or else re-build it. If the stadium goes away, perhaps the roadways and ramps can be relocated or eliminated. A land bridge and shoreway conversion sounds nice, but that will be a huge expense. Will it be worth it? Do we know if folks will start flocking to the lakefront once there is a land bridge? The "if you build it, they will come" theory doesn't always work. It didn't seem to work for the waterfront line.
  3. If Browns Stadium eventually goes away, I wonder if the land bridge and downgrade of the shoreway would still be necessary? Could they not just re-open the pedestrian walkway which goes under the shoreway to a newly developed lakefront with no stadium?
  4. It would only be fitting that the Browns go to the Super Bowl during a season when they are playing elsewhere.
  5. Apparently he finally got to it after 10:00 pm. Unfortunately, I dozed off and only caught the last couple minutes.
  6. It's the KeyBank State Theater, not KeyBank Theater.
  7. So I wonder how much a new, open air stadium would cost at another location? Perhaps it could be designed to accommodate a retractable roof in in the future. Maybe that might be a better option. Then the entire lakefront site would be a blank slate for development.
  8. I vague remember hearing that Jacobs Field/Progressive FIeld was designed to accommodate football. But I would not want to see that happen.
  9. The Haslams were considering the post office site. I believe the site to the north of the post office referred to by @Ethan was considered for the new stadium by Mayor White, however, the lakefront site was chosen instead since the infrastructure was already in place and it could be built more quickly and cheaper.
  10. Sometimes yes, sometimes no. This past winter wasn't so bad. And it is typically the east side "snow belt" that gets the worst of any snow event. I sometimes wish Moses Cleaveland would have settled a bit to the west, maybe around Vermilion. I don't think they get very much snow there.
  11. It does seem like the Cleveland area has been on the losing end of M&A more often than not. Just last year, it was announced that Pierre's Ice Cream was being acquired by Ohio Processors, Inc. of Columbus. Platform Beer recently shut down after being acquired by Anheuser-Busch. And ditto for so many others over the years. Sadly, I think Cleveland is still perceived by many outsiders as an old, dirty, industrial city with crappy weather.
  12. They need to ensure future TMUD credits go to shovel ready projects.
  13. That is the site of the Bridgeview Crossing shopping center that never happened. And also the outlet mall that never happened.
  14. "The county said it will soon be looking for a company to evaluate the courthouse facilities and will work with judges, the county prosecutor’s office, the public defender and the city of Cleveland to weigh options for “maintaining and improving” the facility or relocating to another site downtown". Hasn't this been done a few times already?

  16. And they already have 2 starting pitchers on the IR. Good grief.
  17. I don't think remote work is going to be a permanent thing. I heard a report on the radio yesterday that a lot of people are getting tired of it due to no separation of work life and home life and would like to go back to the offfice.
  18. Nice win tonight.
  19. CSU Athletics Survey
  20. Dang, those things are ugly. Glad they will be going away soon.
  21. Perhaps they can do something about that ugly backside during the process.
  22. I couldn't read the article. Apparently these are retail "condos", not residential.
  23. Monument Circle is impressive. It probably looks nice at night.

And how about Strawberry Fields by the Beatles. There were 2 different versions which were entirely different in tempo, mood and musical key. John Lennon liked both, so he told George Martin to combine them.
  25. Now we just need to replace that hideous justice center.
